Romantic 1940's cottage built by a family that was said to have spent their time here in the summers. The neighbors, as it was told to me, was the ''Buddy Ebsen family better known to everyone as ''Jed Clampett on the Beverly Hill Billies'' the cottage is where their Butler lived and the main house is still standing and has now become another vacation rental.
So come and stay a little while where Jed walked and lived and played as a young lad and as the tale of the''Great room in this cottage he used as the dance floor.''
The great room has the original fireplace with gas logs now and large windows to enjoy the sunlight and the majestic 9 foot ceilings with the original beams in the kitchen and great room. Updates to the cottages that is made for your enjoyment.
The Great Room has a majestic TV Armoir that was recently installed and came from the Biltmore Inn another piece of nostalgia to be enjoyed by all who stay here.
The cottage has a picnic table under awning trimmed with gala lights and a barbecue grill onsite so that you can cook out and enjoy the table and with the summer breeze.
The drive was lined with Mountain laurel and Wild Azaleas and the same unique qualities are still here just waiting for you!
Just 15 minutes away from downtown Asheville, Biltmore House, Grove Park Inn and Broadmore golf.
If you are Equestrian you might be interested in knowing this cottage is 30 minutes away to Pea Ridge Equestrian Center. So you could see all this town has as well as other sites to see. 6 minutes to the Western Agricultural Center.
Close to shopping, antiques shops, just 5 minutes to downtown Historical Hendersonville, 20 minutes to Chimney Rock in Grand Lake Lure,15 minutes to Brevard that holds more unique shops and outdoor activities along with Water falls and Sliding rock they say ''that the water is soooo cold at the bottom'' that cools you off for the hot summer days. So go and enjoy these mountains and see what they have to offer.
These quaint towns are easy to get to and makes for a interesting day for your enjoyment during the day and great eating and romantic nights out!
With the Summer days coming to an end soon then the beautiful Fall picks up. The cottage has views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and from the front porch you can see these mountains as they turn to their crimson colors of red, yellow, orange and set with a back ground of the blue skies
at this time peace seems to fall over the misty trees better known as the Smoky Mountains and cottage with the gas log fireplace brings warmth to the atmosphere of how cozy it is inside snuggled up on the sofa and watching the television or even a retreat to the cozy couch with a good book.
Come and enjoy this cottage and all that it has to offer to make your vacation to the mountains a memorable one!
As Jed would put it ''Y'all come back now Ya Hear''
If the Butler is not available then the Ebsen Summer Home might be so visit it on my site as well #347175. And as always will try and meet your expectations of all my properties.

About Jeanette Glenn
I am a native of Hendersonville, North Carolina. I grew up in Horse Shoe went to school at West Henderson High I love the mountains and love to travel but the mountains always call me home.
Jeanette Glenn purchased this Cottage in 1999
Why Jeanette Glenn chose Naples
I bought this property in November 1999 rented it several years a single family residence. Until I found out about the history 'Can you imagine owning a place that belonged to a Movie Star that person would be Christian L Ebsen Jr. AKA as Jed Clampett on the Beverly Hillbillys now how awesome is that! So I decided to turn it into a Vacation Spot so other could enjoy it. As Jed would say 'Come and Sit a Spell'
What makes this Cottage unique
These homes where built in the 40's bought in 1946 as raw land and built later the next year. How awesome is it that we have such history here but unless we tell it no one would ever know. So come and enjoy this home and I have enjoyed putting it together and see the Deed of Trust that transpired back in Oct 1946 hey that was even before I was born. Yep

We have family in the area and it was so nice to have a comfortable home for relatives to visit us. Jeanette was very sweet and has the cottage decorated very cute.
The bonus was the game room for the teenagers and children to play games.
This was our first year not staying with my mother since she passed away in March. She would have loved that we are carrying on the tradition of getting together at Thanksgiving.
I'm so happy we had a great place to stay!
My husband was turning 65 and my mother-in-law was turning 88. She lives in Arden so we wanted to be close. This home had everything we needed. We loved the character and history of this wonderful old home. We saw a deer in the driveway one evening!
es so we wanted
It was my pleasure!!
Great place to stay
Nice quiet little cabin
Clean and adorable
Wonderful experience. We came from Florida for Christmas. Plenty to do close by and we had all the amenities needed to stay in.
Jeanette had everything ready for us. Checking in and out was a breeze.
Thank you for your review. I strive to make sure all my guest are happy and the cabin is equipped with everything you would need to have a home away from home. I always provide a bottle of wine and a few snacks to my guest as a token to show my appreciation to make the stay more enjoyable.
We stayed at the Butler for 4 days with an 8 month old and 3.5 year old. There was plenty of room for us (myself, husb and 2 kiddos) and a bunk bed for 3.5 year old - he loved it! The property was exactly as described, very clean and well maintained for an older mountain house. The price was exactly what we wanted to spend and felt fair for the amenities. Some complained about hearing the hwy noise. Yes, you can hear the hwy noise... from outside! We had no issue with noise at night or when the kiddos were napping. We spent a lot of time on the porch and in the back yard shooting water guns and lighting sparklers (it was July 4th week). The yard is great for playing hide and seek too! Jeanette was very pleasant to work with and was very quick to respond when I misplaced the code for the lock box to retrieve the keys! There were plenty of pots and pans, plates, silverware, cups etc. We did, however, leave our coffee filters, seasonings, coffee and a few tupperware bowls to add to the collection for the next visitors. Just be prepared to shop or bring everything from salt to coffee filters, just in case. We were about 20- 25 mins or more from Chimney Rock, Asheville and Hendersonville down mostly back country roads. We loved the drive and rolling hills, but if you're looking for a quick drive to attractions- this may not be the place for you. The children would nap in the car so it worked great for us! We would certainly recommend the Butler to anyone looking to spend some quiet time in NC with the option of "going and doing" or just exploring the small area of Naples and Hendersonville and surrounding areas. Thank you Jeanette!
Thank you so much. . So glad you chose the Butler. It is a quaint cottage all who come here love it as well. Come again. It gets better every year you return.
SIMPLE, OLD, SMALL AND CLEAN
The place is just as the pictures look. Its simple and dated but very clean and had all the necessities needed. The owner is very nice and quick to respond. We had 3 adults staying in the house and it was room enough for us all. It was cold when night came and we turned on the gas fireplace but I cant stand the smell that the gas was putting out so we had to turn it off and just use the portable heaters and they would turn off after a certain amount of time but we still managed to stay cozy despite the heating but this probably would be a problem during the winter time only because I cant tolerate the gas heating. The bed in master bedroom was not comfortable so I slept on the couch in the living room. I did not realize also that the house was so close to the interstate, you will hear the big trucks and all traffic traveling ALL the time, including night time. We were booked to stay until Sunday but chose to leave on Saturday morning. This place will probably be fine for others but not for me. It was a cheap price especially during the fall peak season and this was why I booked it. You get what you pay for
It was a pleasure to serve this guest.
I appreciate constructive criticism. But please always be kind.
I strive to continue to serve all my wonderful guest.
