Entendez le son du fleuve: Hear the sound of the river. You'll feel to the manor born when you stay at this spacious estate that combines the atmosphere of a chateau in Provence with the stunning beauty of Oregon's Hood River Valley. With amenities like a hot tub and enough space for 20 guests and a family dog, this home exudes luxury and comfort. Contact Vacasa for more details about large gatherings like weddings and reunions, as additional fees apply.
River Song is just 10 minutes from downtown Hood River and all the great places to eat and shop there.
From the moment you enter the huge open living area with its high ceilings, panoramic views, and grand spiral staircase you realize this is an enormous space (about 5800 sq.ft.) perfect for festivities, yet warm and comfortable - and you would be right. The home is the newly built favorite getaway of the Webster family and their eight children, and was designed to entertain large parties.
Whether you're passing the hors d'oeuvres at a party, or a bowl of popcorn while you and the family watch a movie, this home offers a seamless space for interacting no matter what the occasion. And when the others have gone to bed, enjoy a solitary moment. Stay up by the fire and work on the laptop with the free WiFi, read a book, or watch a late movie on the cable TV.
This chateau's large and well-equipped kitchen will be up to any culinary challenge, from a glitzy feast to eggs and toast in the morning. Straw bosses can supervise and chat as they sip a drink at the island right in the kitchen. When the meal's done, gather 'round the dining table with room for eight (plus seven more at the island) and feast not only on the meal with a stunning backdrop.
All six of the bedrooms are color-coded so everyone knows where they belong at bedtime. Between a king bed, four queen beds, four twin beds, a futon, a sofa bed, and a crib or two, up to 20 visitors will find a spot to sleep (please note that there is a small fee per night per extra guest over 20 people and for weddings). The family dog may even join for a small nightly fee.
Along with the three-dozen wineries in the area, there are many orchards where you can pick your own fruit! Come in April to the Hood River Blossom Festival and take the railroad tour of the orchards called "The Fruit Loop." Winter is great in Hood River too. Just head south for 30 minutes and you're at Mount Hood Meadows. Keep going, and there are more places to ski down the road.
Book your next family reunion, small wedding, or friendly get together at this Hood River vacation home.

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.
Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.
Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!
This house is comfortable for large groups and I would recommend. We gathered 10 adults and 5 children together for a thanksgiving and it was the right size for that amount of people. More would be pretty tight, in my opinion.
Beds and couches are clean and comfortable. Plenty of space inside and out for kids to run around. Food prep was easy in the large kitchen. Warning: pretend you're camping and bring everything you need. Kitchen doesn't have basic things like knives, can opener, garbage bags. There are grocery stores 15 minutes away, so we just went and bought all that.
It was absolutely PERFECT!!! The pictures do not even do it justice! It is stunning, very clean, and met all of our needs for our retreat!!!!
This was an amazing home! We would normally never be able to afford to stay at a home of this caliber - but Vacasa went above and beyond to take care of us when the well went dry at the Vacasa home where we were booked. On day 3 of our 4 day vacation, we awoke with no running water or toilets first thing in the morning. When Vacasa was notified about our predicament, Candace was able to find us another home to relocate to, and it was this unexpected treasure! You can read about all the amenities without my help, but know that the beds are extraordinarily comfortable and the bedding/linens are of the highest quality. We arrived just in time to enjoy the beautiful view, a gorgeous sunset, and watch the Seahawks beat the New England Patriots on the large tv! All of us slept soundly and enjoyed the gourmet kitchen in the morning for our breakfast. We even got a load of laundry or two done before we left. All in all, our 20 hours in this amazing home was a highlight of a wonderful vacation and won't soon be forgotten. Thanks Vacasa for your outstanding customer service! And thanks for letting us finish off a great Girls' Weekend in such a fine home.
A wonderful location for our retreat! The home has an open floor plan with many floor-to-raised-ceiling windows ... just as pictured. Eleven of us shared this home very comfortably for three days, reconnecting as body/mind therapists. Great views and two dishwashers! Walks in the orchards. I would definitely think of coming to this river chateau again.
The only negatives were the mattresses on the pullout sofas and lack of dishwasher detergent supplied; and curiously no coffee filters supplied ... so be sure to ask which type of coffeemaker is there so you can bring the right type!
Booked the house and location for an employee retreat. While the home was large and accommodated our group well it was definitely quite a bit worn out in comparison to the pictures when booking. There were also a large number of flies in the house. An unusual thing to mention in a review but it was quite a nuisance when gathering in the kitchen. There were a lot of beds and the response was that everyone slept well in them! It was situated in the middle of orchards with surrounding views of vineyard which made for spectacular pictures and views of Mt Adams as well! Overall would use this company to book in future but probably not return to this property.
