About the property

House, 6 Bedrooms, 5 Baths, Sleeps 20

Entendez le son du fleuve: Hear the sound of the river. You'll feel to the manor born when you stay at this spacious estate that combines the atmosphere of a chateau in Provence with the stunning beauty of Oregon's Hood River Valley. With amenities like a hot tub and enough space for 20 guests and a family dog, this home exudes luxury and comfort. Contact Vacasa for more details about large gatherings like weddings (until 2018) and reunions, as additional fees apply.

River Song is just 10 minutes from downtown Hood River and all the great places to eat and shop there.

From the moment you enter the huge open living area with its high ceilings, panoramic views, and grand spiral staircase you realize this is an enormous space (about 5800 sq.ft.) perfect for festivities, yet warm and comfortable - and you would be right. The home is the newly built favorite getaway of the Webster family and their eight children, and was designed to entertain large parties.

Whether you're passing the hors d'oeuvres at a party, or a bowl of popcorn while you and the family watch a movie, this home offers a seamless space for interacting no matter what the occasion. And when the others have gone to bed, enjoy a solitary moment. Stay up by the fire and work on the laptop with the free WiFi, read a book, or watch a late movie on the cable TV.

This chateau's large and well-equipped kitchen will be up to any culinary challenge, from a glitzy feast to eggs and toast in the morning. Straw bosses can supervise and chat as they sip a drink at the island right in the kitchen. When the meal's done, gather 'round the dining table with room for eight (plus seven more at the island) and feast not only on the meal with a stunning backdrop.

All six of the bedrooms are color-coded so everyone knows where they belong at bedtime. Between a king bed, four queen beds, four twin beds, a futon, a sofa bed, and a crib or two, up to 20 visitors will find a spot to sleep (please note that there is a small fee per night per extra guest over 20 people and for weddings). The family dog may even join for a small nightly fee.

Along with the three-dozen wineries in the area, there are many orchards where you can pick your own fruit! Come in April to the Hood River Blossom Festival and take the railroad tour of the orchards called "The Fruit Loop." Winter is great in Hood River too. Just head south for 30 minutes and you're at Mount Hood Meadows. Keep going, and there are more places to ski down the road.

Book your next family reunion, small wedding, or friendly get together at this Hood River vacation home.

* Please note: If you are planning a wedding, celebration, or a gathering of more than 20 people, please call Vacasa directly for more information. Thank you.

About Vacasa, OR - Mt Hood / Hood River Office

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.
Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Come and hear the River's Song ...

 • 5 of 5

This is the second time I have organized a retreat at the Chateau. It is a perfect place for a gathering like this for 8-10 people. The privacy, the well thought out layout of the home is superb and amenities and furnishings quite lovely. A perfect place to come home to self and nature, and to commune with others.

We celebrated my 40th birthday at this home with 13 family and friends! The house is equipped with everything you need. Plenty of dishes and cooking items for all your needs, lots of linens and towels for hot tub - an overall stocked home! The views are stunning and very convenient to downtown. 5 stars for making our weekend memorable in this lovely home!

This is a picturesque location and perfect for our Mindfulness Retreat. It's very spacious with beautiful sweeping views of Mt Adams and Mt Hood, nestled in a gorgeous orchard. Can't wait to come back!

River Song , some off notes

 • 4 of 5

The setting, in the orchards that bloomed while we were there, could not have been more magical. Double rainbows, two mountains, birds diving through the rows of trees, no one wanted to leave. Even though the house was spacious, the views stunning, it was quirky. Appliances malfunctioned while we were there, like one of the dishwashers, one dryer, and the manager couldn't find someone to repair them. The house didn't have kleenex, enough toilet paper, paper towels, or garbage bags. We rented the space because there were so many of us. Don't get me wrong: the location and the space were dreamy, especially in the proximity to Hood River, the Gorge, and Mt. Hood.
