Saint Barth's Strong! 2BR/2BA in Saline. Open for Business!!!

Bedrooms 2
Property type villa
Minimum Stay 4 - 7 nights

About the property

Villa, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6), St Barth, walking distance to the beach

Get away from it all, and RELAX. A place with a 'I'm on vacation' vibe, where all you have to think about is on which warm beach to enjoy your next cold beverage. The villa survived Hurricane season with minimal damage and is able to welcome guests this season!

This charming villa is located in the beautiful, natural area of Saint Bart's bordering the island's most natural beach, as well as the historically significant salt pond (Saline).

Walking distance to excellent dining and a short driving distance to the island's distinctly unique Euro nightlife, the villa is ideally situated. Come discover the beauty of Saint Bart's and rejuvenate under the warm sunny skies of this friendly and welcoming island.

Our villa is nestled in between the tall volcanic mountains that are an integral part of Saint Bart's. It is a cheery and well-appointed villa suitable for a family, couples traveling together, or just yourself. Tucked into a beautiful garden setting planted with citrus, flowers, native trees and cactus, you will feel away from it all. A great honeymoon destination, our villa is ready for a 'master' in the kitchen, or a 'master' of the restaurant reservations. The kitchen is large and well-appointed, but fine dining is within walking distance. All rooms are air conditioned, all windows and sliding doors have screens, and crisp white curtains... But just try and keep the sunshine out. The vast covered porches are perfect for a breezy afternoon nap in the hammock, lounging in the adirondack chairs, or dining al fresco at the outdoor dining table. Two bedrooms, one Euro King and one with two Double beds, include all linens.

There is a washer on premises, a clothes line for the ocean breeze to dry your laundry, maid service visits, and the house is outfitted with lots of beach gear.

Bring your music, and connect into the Bose Bluetooth system for instant access to your music library. Bring your Ipad to tap into the wireless internet (when service resumes on the island) and keep up with the news from back home online. The Smart flat screen TV that allows you to connect to your Netflix account, or the BlueRay DVD player and extensive video library will help to entertain you, as well. You can easily unplug all of it, and get away from it all.

When reserving your car on the island, note that we have partnered with a local car rental company, to offer our guests a courtesy discount on their car rental. Inquire for more details.

About Julie and Jeff Bryan

An island boy, and a stateside girl, met while she was on vacation in the USVI over 30 years ago. We fell in love, got married and honeymooned in Saint Bart's, on this property. We have two kids, and they love this place as much as we do. Can't wait to retire and spend more time in paradise!

Julie and Jeff Bryan purchased this villa in 2002

Why Julie and Jeff Bryan chose Anse du Gouverneur

An essential part of our families history, this land has been part of our ancestors homestead for centuries. Oh, if the rocks could speak, the stories they'd tell!

What makes this villa unique

We love the natural beauty of the island, including the beaches, the flowers, plants and trees, the neighborhood parrots, turtles, the goats and iguana's who visit every now and again. Saline is considered to be out in 'the country', and we appreciate the quiet, and the incredible starry nights, but also appreciate how close we are to the action in Saint Jean, shopping in Gustavia, and the airport.

Guestbook comments from the manager

The house was perfect, lovely views, incredible stars at night, chirping birds for early risers, a fantastic beach you can walk to...

VILLA DU SAPY IS FOR ME -- (oui oui) ...

  • 5 of 5

St Barths is a very natural island with a very special beauty. If you look past Eden Rock and Nikki Beach and notice the real character of the island, you will see that it is a very efficient island that is most interested in natural beauty.

Beauty of food, beauty of wine, and beauty of good people. Villa du Sapy has a special natural beauty that fits the island and its history. I am an architect and the simple beauty of the ceiling structure, the blend of stucco and wood, the island colors and style fit beautifully into the hillside. This was our 2nd stay in the villa and it is like a wonderful 2nd home to us now. The wrap around porch is wonderful with a beautiful view of the salt pond. The moonlight over the surrounding hills and the garden in the foreground is always beautiful. We missed the wild giant parrot this year, but had plenty of wildlife around, including a hummingbird, millions of white butterflies and turtles. We walked to two amazing meals in the paradise like gardens of Tamarin next door, walked to the beach at Saline and walked to another great meal at Meat and Potatoes. There are a few other great restaurants also ..and its most fun to drive around and explore all of the other beaches, especially Colubmbier, Governeiur and Flamands (our favorites). And you can't forget Le plus buerre le meilleur (MORE BUTTER THE BETTER) .. the bakeries of St Barths are amazing. Freshly made croissants, and pain perdu and I suggest the sandwiches at Le Petit Columbe Bakery, to bring to the beach for lunch. The Villa has a grill and some of our best meals we cooked after buying meat at the butcher near St Jean -- he as a great selection of meats. The kitchen is well stocked. If you want to have the best meal on the island, you can also hire Villa Chef -- our friends had us to dinner that they prepared and it was amazing. We highly recommend this island and for anyone looking for an amazing villa for a very reasonable price .. this is the place for you.

Gem on Grand Saline Beach

  • 4 of 5

This is our second stay in this Villa. We had a wonderful stay, once again. The Villa is centrally located to get to any where on the island easily. It has a well appointed kitchen and a large bathroom. We did not use the downstairs bathroom, as it is not convenient, but good to know it's there in case you need it. Wifi worked well, and tv too, once we figured out how to use it. There is a fabulous selection of DVD's to watch. Mathidle was very helpful and responded when ever we needed her. There was some confusion on when the housekeeper was coming, and getting us clean towels, but Mathidle took care of it. The villa was very comfortable for the four of us. Beautiful views of the Grand Saline, with a few very nice restaurants within walking distance (but of course we drove mostly). St. Barths is our families favorite winter vacation spot and we look forward to staying at Villa du Sapy again.

Wish we were still there right now! This place is an excellent value!

Villa du Sapy - was just what the doctor ordered! We just spent the week of Christmas there. It's nestled in Saline, one of the more quiet/tranquil parts of the island - and a short walk from Saline Beach, and a couple great restaurants: Tamarin and Meat & Potatoes. And it's a short drive from everything. It offers great views of the hills and salt pond - and excellent breezes on the wrap-around porch - where we spend lot's of time both day and night. It's amazing how dark it is there at night - makes for great star gazing. It included everything we needed: BBQ grill - for when we felt like eating in, beach chairs, beach umbrella, coolers, fins & snorkel, etc.

Most accommodations on St. Bart's will cost you an arm and a leg. Villa du Sapy is modestly priced and is an excellent value. I strongly recommend it!

The Perfect Place!

  • 5 of 5

St. Bart's is a little slice of heaven, offering rustic charm with spectacular beaches, great shopping and fantastic restaurants. Villa du Sapy was the perfect place to stay, it's ideally situated - private (perfect for star gazing), walking distance to the beautiful Saline beach and restaurants.

The villa has an open floor plan that is spacious and light filled with a great view of the salt pond. Updated and well stocked kitchen with center island, and very comfortable bedrooms with plenty of storage. We loved the spacious covered wrap around porch, perfect for dining or taking a nap in the hammock. We also loved that the house offered beach chairs & a washer! The villa is really well can tell that lots of thought has gone into the details.

We had such a fantastic week celebrating Christmas at the villa, it was perfect in every way!

Home away from home

  • 5 of 5

Villa du Sapy is everything you dream your vacation to be, and then some. From the moment you enter the circular drive, walk onto the wrap around veranda, then step inside, you feel you are home, albeit a home centered in the hills of Saline, amongst salt pond and beach. The quiet feel of a residential neighborhood only adds to it's ambiance. Breezes from the wrap around veranda invite you to linger a bit longer over your coffee and raisin pastry. This villa is ideal for anyone who wants to pretend it is home. The location is five minutes to anywhere, then back to your private retreat. Walks to Saline provide enough exercise to assuage any guilt at not being at your Zumba class or gym workout. You will miss duSapy more than you think after you arrive back home. It is like a good book, your memories become the characters you fell in love with.
