About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 3.5+ Baths, (Sleeps 11)

This is a wonderful family home that is nicely-decorated and very well-kept. We constantly do upgrades to it so it never looks rundown or like a 'rental home.' It is 2,000 square foot, has 3-bedrooms, 3.5-baths (each bedroom has it's own bath) and is located in the north end of Sunriver on a quiet street away from noise and traffic between circles 10 and 11.

It is walking distance from the north grocery store/gas, SHARC facility, 5 minutes by car (15 minutes by bike) from Sunriver Village and Resort, 30 minutes to Mt. Bachelor’s powder and 20 minutes to downtown Bend.

We provide 8 passes to the Aquatic and Fitness Center (called SHARC) that you can use any time during your stay. It features an indoor and outdoor pool, lazy river, water slides, sledding hills (varying grades) and more. And the best part is that it is open all year long (excluding the outdoor pool).

Just a short distance to the horse stables and Deschutes River marina with a boat launch and park, this rental is a haven of relaxation and offers all the amenities needed. It offers free WiFi, 2 flat-screen smart televisions (with ability to access your Netflix account) with DVDs/VCRs, two large patios (one up and one down) with lots of patio furniture, a picnic table, gas BBQ and a large hot tub on the lower level, large private yard with grass, six adult bikes, 3 small children's bikes and a bike trailer usually used only to transport pool stuff.

It has a wonderful grassy area that is well-maintained on the side and in the back of the house. It is great for kids in the winter to build snowmen and have snowball fights and in the summer to play football, soccer and frisbee games.

This two-story home features a light, comfortable open floor plan with lots of natural light, vaulted ceilings, skylights and an Ochoco Rock wood-burning fireplace in the living room. The living room opens to the kitchen and dining area.

The dining area seats eight or more with three more at the counter. There is access to the patio that overlooks the beautiful wooded open space and offers patio furniture for outside seating and grilling. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need including a double oven which is nice for large groups. Additionally, there is a high chair, a portable cribs and baby gate available.

The large master bedroom features a cozy gas fireplace, king-size bed, entrance to deck, bathroom with shower and separate tub and spacious walk-in closet.

The second and third bedrooms are on the lower level and are separated by a family room that offers a space for kids to play with television and games. The second bedroom has a queen-size bed and an entrance to a shared bathroom (shared with the family room). The third bedroom has two twin beds, a bunk with a twin bed on top and full bed on the bottom, a private bath and walk-in closet and entrance to the patio. The family room has a pull-out sofa couch for extra sleeping space.

There is a utility room just off the two-car garage with washer, dryer and sink.

Sunriver is Central Oregon’s recreational paradise, where you can enjoy golfing, skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, snow-mobiling, cross-country skiing, sledding, horseback riding, hiking, fly fishing, tennis, swimming at two pools, water rafting, canoeing, kayaking on dozens of streams and rivers, mountain and road biking on unlimited paths and trails, water skiing, boating and sailing on many of the lakes within the Cascade Lakes recreational areas.

This is the ultimate family vacation home.

No Pets and No Smoking. Smoking is also not allowed outdoors in Sunriver.

About Robin and Brian

We live full time in Southern California, are 'empty nesters,' and enjoy all that nature has to offer. Retired Investment Counsel and Registered Nurse are our professions, and we look forward to the times when we get together with our three adult children and their families. One may wonder about the name: Ranchito North does have a history. It is the third in a generation of homes that have been owned by our relatives that have been sold. A set of grandparents had a ranch named 'Friendly Farm' in Pauma Valley, CA where oranges and avocados were grown, and horses were ridden. After this was sold, a set of parents purchased a much smaller orange ranch in Pauma named 'Ranchito Amistoso (Little Friendly Farm), where we were able to bring our children for wonderful times. That was sold many years ago, and now we want to continue the great tradition of making great memories with our family at our new 'Ranchito North' in Sunriver.

Our son and daughter-in-law manage the property for us and are who you will be in contact with. We all hope you enjoy our house.

Why Robin and Brian chose Sunriver

Our Portland, OR offspring and family enticed us to Sunriver a couple of years ago for the Christmas holiday. We instantly fell in love with the woodsy family atmosphere with the beauty of the winter snow dusting the surroundings. Another trip back to Sunriver in the summertime convinced us that this is the place we'd like a vacation home. After looking at many homes, we chose 49 Poplar with all of its wonderful features, new upgrades and paint, new furniture, and perfect location. We look forward to our visits north, and sharing this great house with other families to enjoy.

What makes this house unique

Reading by a cozy fire while it is snowing, riding on the bike paths, ultimate frisbee at Fort Rock Park, having fun at the pool at SHARC, skating in the skating rink in the Village, eating ice cream at Goodies, shopping at the market which is so conveniently close, watching the stars at the observatory, biking to the stables for an afternoon horseback adventure, watching the horses run to the pasture for grazing, enjoying the quiet and peacefulness of the area, seeing wildlife wandering through the property, sitting in the sun on the deck...

Beautiful, well stocked home in a quiet location.

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay, this house was beautiful and had everything we needed. Very well-stocked, very clean, beautiful landscaped backyard and front yard. The homeowners were great and had the lawn mowed right away when we asked them if it could be mowed. Tons of stuff in the house for the kids too. Great location, right next to all the bike trails and park. Loved that there were bikes for everyone and SHARC passes for all as well.

Great escape...

  • 4 of 5

We were happy with the layout of the home especially since there is no air conditioning. While the upstairs was rather warm with only a ceiling fan and open windows in the evening to cool it down the lower level stayed very comfortable. It is located in a quiet neighborhood with a short drive to the Sunriver Village and Sharc. I would rent this home again. I think in the late fall would be perfect so we could use the gas fireplaces in the living room and master suite. The kitchen was well stocked, and the only thing I needed and I couldn't find was a large pitcher to mix juice and lemonade in. Thanks for sharing your home.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the review and feedback! Time to get a pitcher for the kitchen:) And yes, you do have to be sure to cool the house down in the evening. We just returned from a hot week there, and are definitely thinking about installing AC before next summer!

Great place

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at Ranchito North. Probably the best appointed kitchen in a house we have rented in Sunriver: double oven, numerous kitchen utensils and pots. Rooms were large and well kept. Slightly dated decor. Large hot tub. Wish that there was weather-stripping under the main porch door (the 1/8 inch gap made it hard to keep warm in a snow--storm). Plenty of room for 2 families of 4 (total 4 adults and 4 kids ages 8-11). The fire place in the master bedroom (gas) and the living room (wood) were a nice touch as was all of the fire wood stacked under the stairs so we never ran out.

Not sure we'd rent in the middle of the summer due to no air conditioning, but there were plenty of fans.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the review - we really appreciate the detailed thoughts. A couple thoughts in return - - The weather stripping has been fixed. - A brand new gas fireplace was installed in spring 2017 (no more wood fireplace). - AC...yes, we are considering it! Thanks again.
