I bought Littlewood Ranch in late 2002 when I retired from a career in journalism and international public relations. Since I was a teenager in Southern California, I've enjoyed horses and ranching. Now I can tend fences, help neighboring ranchers round-up and brand cattle, and 'ride the range'. The main house (our home) is a 1950s style ranch house and is about 200 feet from The Cottage, yet separated by nearly 60 trees that provide an ever-changing landscape depending on the season.
Anne and Bob purchased this cottage in 2002
The Cottage on Littlewood Ranch is just 200 feet from the main house on the ranch. We've used it for years as a guest cottage for our friends and family visiting the area. Now we're offering it to visitors who want to enjoy all that Angels Camp and the Gold Country have to offer.
Privacy, wonderful views, working ranch, proximity to main roads, proximity to restaurants, movies, museums, wine tasting rooms and wineries, and numerous outdoor activities for all ages, abilities and interests.
What a great rustic experience to be in Angels Camp over the holdiays. We really appreciated the WiFi coverage so we could get up and work early in the morning and then play and enjoy the rest of the day - and evening. The cottage is warm and cosy and we love the little gas-heated stove to take the chill off. We walked to town for coffee and lunch and loved being with the horses, and of course Molly.
Thanks for a great week!
The cottage was a perfect change of pace for us. The surrounding hills , the animals and the peace of this place were what we enjoyed. We appreciated the welcoming details that Bob and Anne included in the cottage. It is a perfect location for short drives to wonderful places of interest as well. On Christmas day we drove up to Calaveras Big Trees to walk on the snow covered trail and gaze up at the amazing giant sequoia trees. It was a winter wonderland. Thank you Anne and Bob for everything.
Feels remote, but minutes walk from Main Street in Angels Camp. Murphys and Calaveras Big Trees are quite close. Simple cottage, horses right outside are a fun bonus. Really tough to beat. Nice price as well.
My adult son and I planned on many activities during our 4 day visit to Angel's Camp. As it turned out, I was not feeling well when we arrived and it rained for the next 3 days. So we were cottage bound for most of our time in the Gold Country. Happily, the place was perfect for hunkering down and being grateful for the rains. The property was welcoming with the Lab, Molly, and our host who greeted us and spoke of some of the activities around the Gold Country. We enjoyed being snug in the living room with a fireplace. Everything we needed to cook and be comfortable was provided. I loved looking out the window at the colorful Maple Trees and at the two horses encamped across the driveway. The cottage was clean and warm. It is a very peaceful place. I'd recommend it to anyone seeking relaxation, comfort and beautiful surroundings.
My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Cottage at Littlewood Ranch. The cottage has all the comforts of home!! Very clean and well maintained and we would highly recommend this property!
The cottage at Littlewood Ranch is the perfect spot for a relaxing getaway. My wife and I spent the weekend here and we absolutely loved it. The ranch offers privacy, beautiful views, and a calm, quiet environment. The cottage had everything we needed and was plenty of space for two people. The icing on the cake was the bed -- so comfortable! We hope to stay here again and we would definitely recommend this spot to others.
Took our kids to see gold country and really enjoyed this cabin in Angel's Camp. We went gold panning in Jamestown, rode the steam engine at Railtown 1897, visited Columbia State Historic Park (awesome), and did some wine tasting in Murphys. The cabin was lovely: comfortable, safe and well maintained, loved the horses and it was an easy walk into town (although almost all businesses were closed down). Easily fit 2 adults and 2 kids (ages 7 & 10)
