About The Owner

Hi, I'm Brenda, I have enjoyed the cottage for the last 25 year with my family. Having recently retired I have moved from the mainland into the main house on my property. I now rent out the cottage so other families can enjoy the river's tranquility and beauty, like my family has over the years.

The Owner purchased this cabin in 1981

Peaceful haven to get away from the world

  • 5 of 5

This was our second visit. In January you can expect rain —and maybe some snow. The river is running fast and at night it lulls you to sleep. The cabin is warm, well supplied with comfortable furniture.

Kick back in front of the fire —or on the deck with the propane heater. Bring books, play games or watch TV (which has a Roku box)

Town is close by, but it feels like you are in the middle of the forest. Heavenly.

Beautiful location, wonderful hostess

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed the week we spent at Lake Cowichan. The cabin was just the right combination of rustic and modern and the river was lovely to listen to. We also enjoyed the wildlife we saw: two does and their fawns, as well as an elk cow and the fish and crawfish that swam with us.

Brenda was a most gracious hostess and went out of her way to make us feel welcome. We highly recommend this cabin if you want to escape from civilization in comfort.

Great Location

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time staying at this lovely property which is right on the river with tremendous views. Lots of wildlife to be seen and enjoyed. It is a lovely log cabin, really quiet and only a five minute walk into town.

Brenda was very welcoming and helpful.

A great place to stay and enjoy some real Canadian life.

Cozy and perfect!

Our experience at the riverside cabin was amazing and Brenda was warm and welcoming. We loved the wood stove and hearing the sound of the river while we fell asleep. Would definitely recommend!

Couldn't have been better

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on the river. The cabin is extremely functional, clean and with many well thought out little details. Probably the best stocked kitchen we have ever had in a rental. It is obvious that he owner takes great pride in caring for the cabin as well as the entire 2 acres it's situated on. The owner is very pleasant and helpful and is probably the only other person you will see once you check in. The only noise was the river flowing by and the odd dog bark, we never even heard a car drive by, yet it's only a 2 minute drive to the centre of town. My wife and I highly recommend this cabin and we look forward to returning.

This is a really beautiful property! The cottage is well cared for and clean. The fire in the wood stove was a nice welcome. Beds and bedding were really comfortable! Loved the deck overlooking the river. We will be back and will book three nights next time ;)
