Beautiful mountain lodge on scenic horse farm in rural Montgomery County, MD, 45 minutes from Washington, D.C. Golfer's paradise. Spa facilities.
Get away from the busyness of downtown Washington, and enjoy the peace of this lodge overlooking a rolling pasture of horses grazing by the fish-filled pond. The 3-story house includes 4 bedrooms, 3 and a half baths with jacuzzi's in each one, an elegant dining room, 2 full kitchens, a spa room with massage table and infrared sauna, a scenic greatroom with a 30 foot fireplace. The library on the 3rd floor opens to the Great Room on the 2nd level with a huge expanse of windows showing the magnificent scenery. Choose from hundreds of books, and go down to read in front of the Great Room 30-foot fireplace, or by the Wood stove.
There is also a great media room with a 70-inch flat screen television with comfortable theater seating.. You can have fun preparing food in either of the two kitchens! For exercise, we have exerstrider poles, rebounders (small mini trampolines), and yoga mats with videos to follow along in the media room. Or you may choose to fish in the well-stocked pond, or take horseback riding lessons from our on-site trainers!
FOR GOLFER'S: Raspberry Falls Golf and Hunt Club was a very well maintained club and part of the experience is traveling to the course and crossing on White's Ferry, it is like going back in time. The course is only 8 1/2 miles from the home.
The P.B. Dye Club is another great course and very challenging. In typical P.B. Dye fashion there are plenty of railroad ties that you can bounce your ball off on a bad shot. This is 15 miles from the house but seems closer, as it a nice country drive.
Whiskey Creek Golf club is about 15 miles from the house. It is very, very nice. Very well maintained with a lot of elevation changes
There is also easy access to hiking, canoeing, polo matches, winery tours, antiquing, biking or trail riding either your own or a rented horse, and public golf. We can help you find caterers to serve you meals at home, or help you find just the right restaurant for your outings.

Tony and Alyse purchased this chateau / country house in 2007
I chose to build this house at this location because of the absolutely gorgeous scenery and the close proximity to Washington, D.C.
Horseback riding, polo, fishing, antiquing, wineries, golfing, the media room, the scenery, and the spa facilities are the favorite benefits of staying at this property.
We had such a tranquil time at the lodge. Being there allowed each of us to leave distracting issues behind and center our focus on being together and soaking up the lovely views and atmosphere. It was a very special place to enjoy our grandson’s (and first grandchild) first Christmas.
My family and I stayed for a weekend and held a wedding rehearsal luncheon as well as housed all of the groomsmen. Needless to say, having two kitchens was a huge plus! Everyone had a great time, enjoyed the spacious accommodations and awesome views. Being able to interact with the horses and view the sunset was a real treat! The house was fully equipped, except for a microwave, but we really didn't need one. We had such a lovely time, we are thinking of renting the home again in the next year for another family and friends get-away. Thank you so much Tony and Alyse!
Our group found this home to be spacious and great for families and friends alike. The casual atmosphere set the mood for folks to relax and get away from city life. The home was clean and the kitchen stocked. Reserving, check-in and check-out were a breeze. By chance, our group had four piano players. It was wonderful to cook/grill dinner while listening to live music!
While we didn't end up hosting a team dinner, Alyse was kind to forward a list of local restaurants and caterers. The views are amazing. There was enough room to enjoy each other's company and to find alone time. I wouldn't hesitate to rent this home again.
I reserved Tony and Alyse's property for my family Memorial Day Weekend 2016. My niece was getting married at a Farm and Winery about 10 miles away. We comfortably slept my self, and my new puppy, my son and his wife and two kids from California, another adult son and my daughter and her boy friend. The day of the wedding my niece had 12 of her friends over for lunch and make up and the down stairs kitchen was perfect! The views from the home are incredible...
My dog had the time of his life running all over the property and learned to go up and down stairs. We enjoyed the piano, horses, fireflies and even an occaisional snake 😁 The house is well equipped with everything you need for entertaining
As other reviews have sad the pictures don't even give justice to this amazingly perfect home!
This place was simply amazing. Rented with family friends over New Years, in the middle of winter. 9 of us in total. House was easily big enough to easily accomodate everyone, yet quanit and coy enough to feel intimate. Great room with 3-story fire place was incredible. Views were outstanding. Great kitchen for cooking huge meals for lots of people. A+++ rental, alll around. Highly recommend!
My family and I just stayed at this beautiful property for Thanksgiving and had an amazing time. The 10 guests ranged in age from 5 to 70 and everyone was happy. The views were stunning from every window and we would take a walk down to the stables every morning to greet the horses. The home is beautifully decorated and well equipped with 2 kitchens, comfy bedrooms and a gorgeous stone fireplace to sit around and chat in the evenings. We truly didn't want our stay to end!
A group of friends and myself stayed at this lodge for a weekend in mid October, and we were thrilled with what we got. The huge sitting room with a king-size fireplace, the luxurious bedrooms, the fully-equipped kitchens (plural), the sauna, the cabin feel of a wood fire stove in another living room, and the views of this magnificent horse farm. We lucked out staying here during this time of the year and we hope to again in the future. Many thanks to the owner for allowing us to share this home away from home!
