Overview

About the property

Studio Loft, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-4)

Welcome to Belmont Treetops - your perfect getaway in the lush beauty of the Green Mountains.

WINTER: Easy access and travel time to Okemo in Ludlow. Okemo - Jackson Gore and main entrance, is 11 to 13 minutes away; Bromley, 25 minutes, Stratton 40 minutes, Killington 40 minutes. You can also enjoy skating on beautiful Star Lake less than two miles away. More than 25 acres of snowshoe and cross-country trails or sledding, outside your front door!

******In winter, we recommend four wheel or all wheel drive ONLY. If there is snow, it is challenging to get up our driveway without awd or 4wd. But it is a breeze to get up our driveway with an awd or 4wd car. ********

Although we are located in Belmont (Mount Holly), a classic quaint Vermont village, we are only minutes away from all the activities that make Vermont wonderful. In the summer and fall there is kayaking, hiking, biking, summer concerts, great theater, and restaurants. Of course, in the winter there is skiing, skating, and snowshoeing.

This new large studio loft is only eight years old and is ideal for a ski vacation, summer holiday, romantic getaway, writer's retreat, or fall foliage tour. The loft has open space, high ceilings, glass, and is furnished with antiques and cozy furniture. The best part - you feel like you are living in a treehouse as you look out over the treetops to the mountains. We're family friendly but we've also been told that Belmont Treetops is a wonderfully romantic place to stay. Writers and those seeking quiet away from their busy lives have found this to be a place they love coming back to year after year.

The partitioned sleeping area has a queen bed and is surrounded by partial walls and etched glass for privacy. A pullout couch has a full bed. There is a fully-equipped kitchen including dishwasher and microwave and stocked with all the pots, pans, and cooking utensils you will need. Full bath with Restoration Hardware plush towels. All sheets are provided too. There is also Wifi and a bluetooth speaker in the studio. And our guests always enjoy the homemade treats and cheese and crackers we leave for them upon their arrival!

You are an easy 1.5 mile scenic walk on a tree-lined country dirt road to the charming Belmont Village, store, and Star Lake. You can start your day with a walk to the store and pick up your morning coffee and newspaper (in the winter it can be a winter wonderland with snow covered trees forming a canopy over the road). There is also an old-fashioned library, with a wide selection of books, and a local museum in town.

If you don't want to eat at home using the fully equipped kitchen, there are restaurants as close as ten minutes away. Also nearby is the famous Vermont Country Store in Weston where you will discover hard-to-find items and an impossible to resist selection of candies, cheeses, jams, and other delicious food items.

SPRING, SUMMER, FALL: We are located in the heart of the Green Mountains on nine acres of wooded land and open fields. Views of the mountains are outside your window. Easy access to beautiful dirt lanes for biking and hiking. Swimming, kayaking, fishing, golf, tennis are less than 15 minutes away. 3 day minimum from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

For those seeking cultural activities, the acclaimed Weston Playhouse (Christopher Lloyd, of Back to the Future fame, was in DEATH OF A SALESMAN in the summer of 2010) is only ten minutes away. The 2017 summer season includes the regional premiere of ONCE, and also LOST IN YONKERS, MUSIC MAN, and LONG'S DAY JOURNEY INTO NIGHT. You can also find a concert almost every day of the week during the summer.

SPECIAL AMENITIES: In addition to all your linens, we also provide many of your essentials including paper towels, napkins, toilet paper, soap, shampoo and conditioner, hair dryer, foil, plastic wrap, garbage bags, sugar, flour, etc. We also have a wide selection of books, magazines, and games for those afternoons or evenings when you want some down time. If you have a computer with a DVD drive or a DVD player, there is a small selection of DVDs in the loft.

LOCAL INFORMATION: We have extensive information on local attractions, restaurants, places to shop, and local skiing, hiking, swimming, biking information.

PLEASE NOTE: We have no other fees - cleaning is included in the price.

THREE DAY MINIMUM for all holiday weekends (Labor Day, Columbus Day, New Year's, President's weekend, Memorial Day, July 4th), vacation weeks and, when available, from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day Weekend

PETS and SMOKING: We do NOT allow pets in the loft due to the allergies of some return guests. There is no smoking allowed on the premises.

SPECIAL PRICES FOR LONGER RENTALS: Please ask about special rates for longer rentals.

We look forward to welcoming you to Vermont!

Why The Owner chose Belmont

We had a second home in Belmont (Mount Holly), Vermont for more than 30 years. We lived in San Francisco for 15 years but spent all of our winter and summer vacations here. When we moved back to the East Coast, we decided to make Vermont our home because of the beauty, wide variety of activities in the area, and because Mount Holly is a wonderful, friendly, and welcoming community.

What makes this studio unique

The endless variety of activities in the area always keep us busy. In the summer, the three mile round-trip walk to the local country store is how we start every day. The summer is loaded with things to do: there is our own local music series in the center of town, great local theater and concerts, and for the sports enthusiast, there are not enough hours in the day for all the activities. In the fall, Belmont has its own Columbus Day celebration with a real apple press, a photo contest, and many vendors selling local products. In the winter, Mount Holly is known as the snow belt - we almost always have beautiful snow even when others do not. There isn't a time of year that isn't perfect - even mud season because you can smell the earth begin to thaw, see flowers begin to peak out above the last remnants of snow, and watch the trees begin to bud. It is a magical time.

Beautiful home with great hosts

  • 5 of 5

Paul and Janet was both very courteous. When we arrived they had greeted us with some cheese and crackers along with some of Janet's homemade brownies. The brownies was delicious.

Both Paul and Janet are very knowledgeable about the area. They gave us great suggestion regarding what we can do in the area. If that was not enough they had a big binder of facts that had everything we would need and want to know about the area. Ranging from food to activities.

Overall I will book this place again when I am in the area.

Beautiful, bright studio with curteous and thoughtful hosts. Wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

Leeza and I greatly enjoyed our stay at the Belmont Treetops. To begin, Janet and Paul provided a plethorah of information about the surrounding area, complete with a big binder of fact sheets to help us decide what hikes to go on, and what retaurants and sites to visit. Janet was communicative in the lead up to our trip, offering to send us info in advance to help us plan.

When we arrived, Janet and Paul were attentive and thoughtful. They made themselves available to answer questions (or lend us things we forgot to bring) but they also gave us all the space we wanted for a romantic weekend.

The space itself is exemplary. Fully stocked kitchen with spices and oils, dinnerware and cookingware. High ceilings and windows for days. Comfortable and cozy, but also clean, cared-for and well-organized. A warm and inviting space.

The surrounding area is stunning. Nothing compares to it.

Many thanks to Janet and Paul - perfect hosts.

The loft is beautiful. Modern, tons of windows, and a lot of charming vintage touches.

  • 5 of 5

We were greeted with Vermont Cheddar Cheese, brownies, and tons of information about things to do in the area and all over the State. The loft was located close to a few great day hikes. Owners Janet and Paul were available, were very friendly, and were happy to help with information and suggestions when we needed them. The loft is incredible. It was very clean, spacious, private, and full of natural light. The kitchen has everything you need if you choose to stay in and cook, and there is a dishwasher to make cleanup easy. If you notice in the pictures that there are no blinds on the windows don't freak out, you are high up enough and far from the road so you will feel like you still have your privacy. There is no TV which we appreciated since it seems like the whole idea is to get away and experience the nature/scenery. Overall we loved the loft and will likely return to experience this space in the fall.

Treetops is tops!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our long weekend August stay at Belmont Treetops! The loft is a very comfortable and well prepared accommodation. Our hosts, Janet and Paul were very welcoming and a helpful resource for sites to see and activities to do in that beautiful area of Vermont! The Healdville Trail to the scenic top of Okemo and a stop at Buttermilk Falls were highlights!

Beautiful Stay

  • 5 of 5

The property was perfect for our stay. Impecibly clean, exceedingly comfortable, it was the perfect place for us to stay during our visit to My. Holy Vermont. Hopefully, we will get to stay there again soon.

A lovely home with wonderful hosts!

  • 5 of 5

Janet and Paul's loft is beautifully designed with windows all around showcasing the wooded loveliness of Vermont. My boyfriend, Todd, and I felt immediately at home as Janet escorted us into the modern space with antique touches -- just what we were looking for! We were provided with many suggestions on how to spend the weekend (we had no solid agenda, just wanting a romantic getaway to celebrate Todd's birthday), and the yummy brownies and cheese added a welcoming touch. We ended up touring the area on Saturday visiting little towns like Grafton, Ludlow, and Londonderry, and were pelted with heavy rain most of the day, but we didn't mind the rain because exploring Vermont is always a treat! Returning to the comfy loft was the perfect ending to a well spent day.

Janet and Paul are pleasant hosts and they value your privacy. We truly felt like we were enjoying our home away from home and will probably return since Vermont is one of our favorite destinations. If you want a private, peaceful, and romantic place to spend your vacation, you can't go wrong with this delightful loft.

Thanks, Janet and Paul!
