Surrounding Area:

Grand Lake is one of Colorado’s first vacation communities with its charming lakeside village setting. Grand Avenue (the main street) gives you the feeling the frontier still exists as the western heritage is carefully preserved through wooden boardwalks and split lodgepole pine facades on the downtown buildings

The town of Grand Lake and Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP) and surroundings provide an abundance of both summer & winter activities: Skiing (20 minutes to Sol Vista ski resort) or (35 minutes to Winter Park ski resort), Nordic skiing (groomed trails minutes away at Grand lake golf course), snow-shoeing, sledding, ice-fishing, hiking, horse-back riding, white water rafting, boating, Sail boating, water skiing, jet skiing, fishing/hunting, golf (Pole Creek, Grand Lake, SolVista and Grand Elk courses), mountain biking, hot springs (22 pools) at near-by Hot Sulphur Springs a short 20 min drive, wildlife viewing, along with the many restaurants and gifts shops you'll find in town, make this an ideal vacation rental.

RMNP entrance is a 5 minute drive. RMNP has some of the best walking or snowshoeing trails in the world. If you like to see moose, elk, big horn sheep, and deer, you can just drive up Trail Ridge road (the highest road in the world, from Grand Lake to Estes Park).

Grand Lake has the best snowmobiling and trail riding in Colorado with hundreds of miles of trails just minutes from the house. Summer or winter you can rent ATV or snow mobiles.

Nearby Trail Ridge Marina rents sport/power and pontoon boats so you can get out and enjoy the water.

In consideration for our guest no smoking or pets allowed.

The best part of your vacationing in Grand Lake area - You can do as much as you like or just sit back and relax!

Comfortable, spacious mountain cabin

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at your lovely home. We enjoyed using the gas grill and cooked a wonderful meal in your user-friendly kitchen. The lights in the kitchen are an issue which you should look into as they would turn off independently when they became hot. My husband is a general contractor and commented that he thought it might be a wiring issue. As for the lock issue, we did not have a problem with it during our stay. Thank you for opening your home to us. We would recommend you to anyone staying in the area. Lisa A. Martin

Owner's Response: Lisa Thank you for your review. I was up to the house this weekend and experience the kitchen light issue. I switched out both lights with LED Flood lights which produce much better lighting and eliminated the heat issue that was caused by the halogen bulb. Also figured out the lock box wasn't an issue, just operator error on the cleaners using it. Thanks again Dave

Great Place to Stay!

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cabin. We had eight people in our group and the sleeping arrangements worked out great for us. There is a lot to do near this cabin and we did most of it. Rocky Mountain National Park is minutes away and it is worth the time to go through it. We did have a question come up that we needed to contact the owner once and he was a super great guy to deal with. The cabin is setup pretty neat on the inside and is comfortable. If we ever go back to Grand Lake on vacation we wouldn't hesitate to rent this property again.

Comfortable, well-furnished log-cabin style home!

  • 5 of 5

Our family (5 adults, two children) spent three days in this comfortable cabin-style home close to Grand Lake. We had ample room for playing games, chatting, stretching out on the large sectional sofa and reading books, having morning coffee on the deck, and cooking together in the well-furnished kitchen. The home is light and airy, and the upper level open loft gives it a very spacious feeling, even though there are two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. The main floor master bedroom is perfect for those early risers to sneak out onto the deck with morning coffee while not disturbing the late sleepers. We had been at a family wedding in Tabernash prior to our arrival, and had been on the road for three days prior to that, so it was great to have the washer and dryer handy and to have two full bathrooms (one upstairs and one on the main level.) The large outdoor deck allowed the children to play outside, but still be close enough that we could keep an eye on them easily. We enjoyed several hikes at the East Inlet Trail (Adam's Falls) which allows you to walk into Rocky Mountain National Park. We also took a day trip over Trail Ridge Road -- also very close to the cabin. There were several grocery store options nearby for supplies. The house has lovely views of snow-capped peaks from several of the large windows. We would recommend this home as a retreat for a couple or for a larger family group. A great gathering place, close to hiking trails, beautiful lakes, and amazing views!
