Our apartment is on the third floor - three flights of original marble stairs - of a grand and elegant 19th century building very near to Galata Tower. The building entrance is on a characterful cobbled street, packed with intriguing boutiques and cafés. A few floors up on the roof-top, a shared terrace has gorgeous views across Golden Horn to the Old City.
It’s about 3 minutes walk to Sishane metro station, less than 5 minutes walk to Tünel funicular and a short downhill walk to connect with the tram for Sultanahmet. Famous Istiklal Avenue is less than 10 minutes walk up the hill.
The apartment opens into a welcoming hall with coat storage and the dining room and kitchen either side. The living room with flat-screen TV and comfy sofa is right next to the dining room, adding up to a versatile area for relaxing. The bay windows in the living room overhang the characterful street below: great for people-watching. There are two double bedrooms, one of which has a stylish en-suite shower room. This same bedroom connects to the third, small bedroom, ideal for a child or close friend. All bedrooms have high quality crisp white linens. The additional family bathroom is spacious with a large shower. The kitchen is contemporary, chic and well-equipped with high-end appliances including dish-washer.
This apartment is 120 m2 in total, with lovely vaulted high ceilings retaining some original frescoes. A few of the walls have been stripped back to brick, which together with Anatolian textiles gives a cosy atmosphere. The bedrooms comfortably accommodate five people.
Guests will have the complete privacy of the entire apartment.
The roof terrace, shared with all apartments in the building, is available for your careful use at any time.
In the same building - 1 floor above, across the hall - we also offer Petraki Place II apartment.
The two apartments booked together are ideal for a large group of up to 12 people.
Galata has a genuine, very welcoming and diverse community with an intriguing mix of cafes, restaurants, small grocery shops and artistic boutiques. Elegant 19th Century buildings line cobbled streets, with discoveries waiting around every corner. No matter where you wander, you’ll always find your way back to Galata Tower, which has been a well-loved landmark for the last 700 years.
Metro, bus, tram and ferry stops are all only a couple of minutes’ walk away. You can be in Sultanahmet (for the big sights of Ayasofya, Topkapı, Blue Mosque etc.) in about 12 minutes by public transport or 20 minutes on foot. In the other direction, by Metro, you can be in Şişli (for Istanbul’s biggest shopping mall) in 10 minutes or Levent (for Istanbul’s business district) in 15 minutes.
There are many taxi ranks around and some secure car parks too.

The apartment was very comfortable and the location exceptional
Excellent location and comfortable apartment.
Dear Juan, we're so pleased that you enjoyed your stay! Hope to host you again in the future. Warm regards from Istanbul.
We absolutely loved the place. It's right by the Galata Tower, close by are some interesting shop , bars, restaurants and just a short walk over the bridge to see the sights. It was amazing sitting on the roof at the end of the day with a drink looking out over the water.
Just next to the Galata tower this beautiful appartment has everything thats necessary at a great price!
Will go again!!!
Beautiful apartment, wonderful neighborhood, helpful host = great vacation
Spent eight days in Istanbul over the Christmas holiday with my teen-aged sons. This was our first time renting an apartment for a vacation and we couldn't have been happier. The apartment has been wonderfully renovated and the neighborhood can't be beat. Close enough to everything we wanted to see and to public transit, but away from the tourist traffic and with a very local feel. We really felt like we were part of the neighborhood and not just hotel guests.
The owner, Tarkan, was excellent regarding communication before and during the visit, and provided a great deal of information about Istanbul that enhanced our visit there. I would highly recommend this or one of Tarkan's other apartments for a visit to Istanbul.
Request for rent for April 21-25
I would like to book the apartment starting from April 21st to April 25th, for 4 nights. Could you please confirm the availability of the place and the details for reservation?
Also, just in case, would it be possible to accomodate the 7th person? We are a group of 6 but might have another person joining.
Thank you in advance.
Beyoglu-Taksim, Galata: 700 year old tower, thousands years old district.
For hundreds of years Galata was a Genoese Colony, in the sense of settlement. Today Galata is a bohemian district that attracts artists, writers and intellectuals although most of the inhabitants are ordinary people. It's a real Istanbul neighbourhood with real people!
