This is a private architectural house remodeled in 2016 by a prominent LA designer. This single level house is 2150 sq ft and has 3 bedrooms, 3 baths, and office. It is designed to be a boutique hotel alternative and has 2 master suites each with luxury beds made by Hastens for a great night of sleep. Gorgeous view of downtown LA skyline.

Large backyard with outdoor seating, fruit trees, and trampoline. Walking distance to Sunset Junction which has lots of boutique shops, restaurants, coffee and gelato. Cafecito Organico (LA's best coffee) is just down the hill, walk to Bellevue Park or drive 1 mile to several grocery stores including the new Whole Foods 365.

Private gated driveway for off-street parking.

Gourmet open kitchen with stainless steel appliances and Caesarstone countertops. House has lots of natural light.

Family room includes a piano and HD TV with Bluray and surround sound. Living room includes a working gas fireplace.

**We also rent off VRBO and we know there are certain things that can make or break a vacation rental. That is why our house includes:

This house offers you style, convenience, and privacy. It is located in the heart of Silverlake near Sunset Junction and cafes, restaurants, and night-life. Only a 10 minute drive to Hollywood, downtown LA, LA Live, Staples Center, Disney Hall, Universal Citywalk, Dodger Stadium, and Griffith Park.

Beaches are a quick 30 minute drive via freeways with the 101, 5, and 10 Fwy easily accessed.

Silverlake contains some of the most famous modernist architecture in North America. Known as the Greenwich Village of the west, Silverlake offers unique boutiques and restaurants, a beautiful reservoir (with running path and park), and a Saturday farmers market. It is the center of the indie rock scene of LA and is an eclectic neighborhood attracting creative people, artists, musicians, and environmentally conscious businesses. CNNmoney says Silverlake 'has blossomed in recent years, becoming a haven for families as well as the hipsters who first popularized it. The stretch of Sunset Boulevard that runs through Silver Lake is packed with shops and hotspots, defying the 'no walking in L.A.' cliché.'

Why Dan chose Silver Lake

We love its central location and its proximity to most LA attractions. It's an artistic neighborhood (voted trendiest neighborhood in LA by WSJ for 2012 and best LA neighborhood in 2013 by CNNmoney) but safe and family-friendly neighborhood. This is a rare house that has both an LA downtown skyline view, is single story and has a large flat backyard.

A Home Away From Home

We have 3 adults and two toddlers in this house for 4 days. Now my six-year old nephew refused to go back to London and my three-year old son wanted to move to this house. Who can blame them? There's a playground and fruit trees (Ebony? Persimmon?) in the back yards, extra toys in the kids' room, and with some of the most ridiculously steep streets in the neighborhood, who needs Universal Studio?

As for adults, I enjoy the morning running around Silver Lake Reservoir, my sister thinks the Milk Tea from Lamill is the best, and my brother-in-law really appreciate the coffee from Cafecito Organico. We all agree that the food from Forage is delicious and went there three times in four days.

Overall, the house was clean and well-maintained. It is "Just Right" mid-century modern and not "Over the Top". Dan was responsive and provided clear instruction. We will definitely return to this house next time when we are in LA.

Location, location, location all at a fair price. Immaculately clean, fully functional and did I mention the great view of downtown LA? All adds up to a primo property that will please a group of 4 or more. This was our second time at this property and we'll be back!

Very family friendly vacation rental

I recently rented this home with my family who were in town for my brother's wedding. We figured it would be more cost effective than getting several hotel rooms and the home exceeded our expectations! The house is very spacious with beautiful hard wood floors and a decor reminiscent of Mad Men. We had 4 spacious bedrooms and the bonus was the three full bathrooms. The living room, den and bedrooms had large windows that let in a lot of light but with shades you could close if you wanted dim light. About 15ins from downtown LA it also offered beautiful views of the city skyline. My 3 year old loved it too because he discovered the spacious yard complete with a swing set and fruit trees. If there is a draw back it would be that the driveway while long is quite narrow making it difficult to open car doors. Additionally, the owners have an airstream parked at the end of the drive way which blocked the path from the back stairs from the kitchen to the driveway.

In spite of these minor drawbacks I would readily stay here again if they'll have us!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your response. So glad you enjoyed your stay. Yes, our driveway is somewhat narrow but we usually use the front door entrance so the Airstream isn't an issue. We only use the side door from the kitchen to access the backyard and the garage.

Super well located & convinient house in SilverLake

We had the pleasure to stay at the SivlerLake house for the first two weeks of April and we had a wonderful experience. The house is very well located, clean and has all the needed pieces of equipment you could possibly need. We were four adults and two toddlers, the house was absolutely perfect for them. The outdoor area has its own park with a slide and swings. The garden is privative and secure, you can actually let your children run around outside, in the middle of LA. Communication with the owner flows easily and the self-checking and checkout process is remarkably useful. The house is easy to access and offers parkings for two cars. You can drive to Disneyland or to the beaches in 20 minutes. Hollywood, the Griffith Park & downtown are few blocks away. We would rent this very house again if we were to come back to Los Angeles. I am happy to recommend it, for your stay!

Thanksgiving weekend

I stayed with my husband, mom and daughter at Dan's house over the Thanksgiving holiday. We were in town to visit my other daughter and her husband. The house was great, everything with the rental process went smoothly, Dan was very quick to answer any questions. He made sure we knew where local shopping and dining were. The yard and view were awesome. We enjoyed sitting and having a drink, Dan even invited us to pick a few oranges from the tree and they were delicious. The house was clean and well maintained. Having a nice place to gather made our holiday wonderful. I would certainly stay again and recommend it to friends.
