Dillon Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, 2 bedrooms (1 in Loft), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 6 max)

The Grizzly is a newer, but rustic style log cabin with all the comforts of home. The warmth of this two level, loft style cabin is ideal for quiet separation with one bedroom in the loft area and one on the main level. Both bedrooms have a queen bed, the upstairs also has a double bed and a queen futon for extra guests. 6 people max.

If you are interested in a quiet setting in the base of the Blacktail Mountain Range, and next to the Pioneer mountain, a place where 'do it yourself' can be as relaxing or demanding as you make it, in the comfort of a lovely cabin with great views, then this is the place for you.

Goose Down Ranch is located 5 miles from Dillon Montana, 1.5 hours from Bozeman, Idaho Falls, Jackson Hole WY, or 1 hour from Butte, Virginia City or Ennis MT.

The Beaverhead River, the Madison, The Big Hole River, the Jefferson and the Clark Canyon Dam are all within a reasonable jaunt, to fish for the day, return to a great, clean comfy cabin. We have tons of great hiking trails close by, you can raft, float, wade or swim. Southwest Montana is home to a host of historic and other fun activities as well.

Beaverhead County is the largest county in Montana and includes a broad range of scenic and geologic diversity. From the high mountain meadows and sub alpine peaks to expansive basins, Beaverhead County offers a rich natural and human history to visitors and residents alike.

The 1,000-square-foot cabin, built in 2002, is a story and a half, including a loft. Entry through either the front or back door is onto a combined living room, dining area and fully equipped kitchen with a cozy gas fireplace in the front corner.

Large windows across the west side of this room allow a view of the pasture and the mountains of the Ruby Range. Out the sliding glass door and kitchen window the view of the Blacktail mountain range will wow you! Many deer are often your guests running by in the morning or evening hours.

The rest of the ground floor is occupied by master bedroom, equipped with queen bed, and a bathroom also, large with a full size washer and dryer. The loft has a queen bed, a full bed and a queen futon.

There are a variety of activities available to cabin guests. Guests can fish the mile and a half away on the Beaverhead River, or the famed Poindexter Slough, 2 public fishing access are only a minute away.

There are a wide variety of hiking opportunities. Guests can find easy day trips or even more adventurous, the mountain lakes in the Pioneers are beautiful to explore. Bring along your fishing rod to catch the plump Rainbow and cutthroat trout that inhabit the lakes, and bring your camera to capture the spectacular mountain views, including local wildlife, moose, deer and the occasional mountain goat.

For those interested in what's available in town, we are just 5 minutes from Dillon, good restaurants, a new local micro Brewery, the Patagonia outlet and many other great options such as coffee shops or antique stores. Dillon is also home to University of Montana, Western.

The cabin offers fully equipped kitchen, fireplace, satelite TV, Wi-fi, DVD, stereo, Gas Grill, deck, full size Waher & Dryer and AMAZING VIEWS.

We were able to have all the kids and grandkids in their own beds upstairs. Comfy kitchen setting for our meals.

We had a great stay at the Grizzly cabin

Very comfortable and clean

It is quiet there even though you are not far off the highway

We enjoyed seeing the many deer that frequented the nearby pastures say nothing about the great mountain views!

We would definitely stay here again

We loved this cabin near Dillon, MT! Clean, quaint and such a beautiful area. Dan and Shannon were so accommodating. We highly recommend it. Near town yet in the country and close to Bannack, Virginia City, etc.

Our stay at the Goose Down Ranch was perfect! Thank you Dan, Shannon and Cloe for sharing your slice of heaven with us. The cabin was very well appointed with everything we needed to enjoy a weekend getaway in Dillon. The views are amazing. If you don't mind being a couple miles outside of town in exchange for peace, quiet and views that last for miles, this is the place for you!

This place is awesome!!

  • 5 of 5

We (the wife and I and 3 kids) needed a place to stay for nearly 3 weeks in Dillon, and didn't want to be stuck in a hotel. Goose Down Ranch was the right answer! Very clean and comfortable. I was concerned going in whether the beds would be comfortable, and they were great. No complaints at all. All the amenities were just right, and the views surrounding the cabin were just plain incredible. The owners were so wonderful to work with as well. You can't go wrong staying here!!

CLEAN! Comfortable Cabin in a beautiful area

  • 5 of 5

The stay was very relaxing. The cabin was very clean, the utensils were complete and also clean. Everything was easy to find and the beds were very comfortable. It was a close drive to town but just far enough out. I will definitely book this cabin the next time we come up to relax or go fishing.

Beautiful Views! Clean, Cozy and Comfortable!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the Goose Down Ranch for a family gathering, rented both the Grizzly and the Timber Wolf cabins and our stay was really awesome! The owners are so friendly and helpful. The cabins have everything you need to make you feel at home. We had great recommendations for fishing in the area and great hiking and day trips. The pictures are not even half of how pretty this area of Montana is.

We will be back!

Thanks Goose Down Ranch for sharing your piece of paradise with us and making our family feel at home.
