Excellent lake, good cottage

  • 5 of 5

The lake is excellent! We do a lot of water sports (skiing, tubing, wake boarding) and this lake was perfect, most weekdays we were the only ones on the lake. You can boat to middle range pond, though we scraped bottom (d'oh!) as we passed under the small bridge between the two lakes, maybe we had too many people in the boat. The dock area was easy to dock a boat, great for swimming, nice and deep at end of the dock. The cottage was nice, kids loved the foosball table. Kitchen was adequate, cooked almost all our meals there. Medium size weber grill worked well. Bedrooms were nice, able to sleep 9. Hard to tell from pics, but cottage is about 100' from the lake, looked closer in the pics.

Owner's Response: David, Thank you for the review and staying at the camp. Yes the camp is 100 feet from the lake per code when the house was built. Fire pit on water between house and lake I think is good shore side seating and path to lake. Thanks again for staying!

What an idyllic relaxing stay at this New England lakefront property.

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at this home. My wife and I brought 7 seven kids with us with a wide age range, and it was a perfect getaway for us, and all of the kids had a blast. We were able to watch the kids play in the beautiful pristine Lake, while we cooked dinner in the kitchen and outdoors at the barbecue. The outside of the property was neat and clean, house features an outside deck area and comfortable seating areas including two rocking chairs to unwind and enjoy the view.

The unit features a great lakeside fire pit area, which we thoroughly enjoyed after a long day of fun in the sun.

The home was very well kept and the two full baths were a huge help getting all the kids cleaned up. Plenty of sleeping areas upstairs, with great sunny wake up views of the lake.

Place includes so many fun things to play with, including kayaks, canoe, tubes, flippers and plenty of life jackets. Thank god for the washer and dryer in the basement too! We really needed to just show up, because it was all there.

I highly recommend this home for a family vacation or a couple get away. We hope to come back.

Great spot for quiet relaxation

  • 4 of 5

Wonderful location, we spent most of the sunny weather in the kayak and canoe or just sitting on the dock listening to the loons. Comfortable and clean inside, private enough, and well equipped with everything we needed. The only downside for us was the weather.

Short but sweet

  • 5 of 5

We stayed just a partial week. That's one of the great things about this rental: you don't have to book an entire week, even in the middle of the summer. It was all too short a time, because the place is lovely. Upper Range Pond (pronounced "Rang" by Mainers) is beautiful and fairly quiet; didn't see a single jet ski, nor even a water skier. The loons were in full voice, and were a highlight of our stay.

The cottage was clean, comfortable, and had all the gear we needed. Great swimming off the dock, and everyone loved the "water tramp", a giant floating yoga mat that provided hours of fun. The boys were very excited that the TV has an HDMI port, so they could play games. There was even a supply of firewood (though you'll want to bring your own kindling and matches).

Except for the construction equipment working on nearby Cleve Tripp Road -- which intruded on the solitude -- we would have felt like we were miles from civilization. But that's a one-time issue, and I expect the work will be finished this season.

A very enjoyable stay. We are already thinking about coming back for a full week next summer.

An authentic Maine lake house

  • 5 of 5

I stayed here with my family and had friends visit for a very enjoyable 4th of July barbecue. The grill, outdoor seating and fully equip kitchen were all very useful. We also really enjoyed taking the canoe and kayaks out on the lake. There is also a nice fire pit by the lake and many camping chairs in the basement we used to comfortably sit around a fire in the evenings. Overall is was a memorable vacation. Upper range pond is also amazing. As a native Mainer, I can say it's nicer than many other lakes thanks to fewer homes on its shores. During the day there was usually only one or two boats on the lake and this was during 4th of July week, which made our stay even more relaxing.

I will say that since Maine legalised fireworks, and taking into consideration it was the 4th, there were tons of people in the area setting off fireworks. This is the case anywhere in Maine now though.

Overall we had an amazing time and would recommend to others.
