About the property

Townhome, 4 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 9-10)

It is always a beautiful day here with a Panoramic view of the Lewes Bay. The beauty of mother nature's handy work can be seen in the dunes populated with brown pelicans, egrets, osprey, gulls and in the night sky with breathtaking sunsets, clouds and stars. Why you may never want to leave the deck. Our home was completely renovated in 2010 with the intent of bringing the beauty of the outdoors in. We have floor to ceiling windows with views of the beach from the Living room,Dining room, Kitchen and Master Bedroom. The designer renovation includes wide plank wood flooring, tiled bathrooms and open kitchen. The color scheme is muted to reflect all the incoming light and natural views. The large ceiling fans and the sea breeze are all you really need to cool down the house even though there is Air-conditioning. There is room enough for everyone to have privacy yet, all can gather together in upper level for socializing.

We purchased our family beach home in 1980. It was the ideal place for the kids to learn to swim & surf with the calm waters perfect for water sports. We love the laid back private beach and it's closeness to natural habitats. When we are ready for more adventure or excitement it is a short drive into Rehoboth beach with it's famous boardwalk or catch the nearby ferry to CapeMay NJ. Our home is conveniently located between historical downtown Lewes,Cape Henlopen, Rehoboth beach and boardwalk.

About The Owner

Hi, I am Toby Ridings and I invite you to the Ridings family secret get away, where we have been enjoying relaxation, recreation and family fun for three generations. Many of our most cherished traditions and memories were born here.

I hope you will create some of your own.

Why The Owner chose Pilot Point

We chose this location because we fell in love with the quaint historic town of Lewes and the closeness to Cape Henlopen Ocean and nature preserve that aligns with our spirit of adventure. It is easily accessible to many interesting attractions yet, we always enjoy coming back and hanging out at our retreat nestled in the dunes. There are so many options. We can grill dinner outside or venture into town to a 5 star restaurant, go to the movies at night or have a bonfire on the beach.

You want for nothing!

  • 5 of 5

This was by far the best home we have ever stayed in! Our group consisted of 6 people. It was plenty of space for all. The large windows, open floor plan and view of the bay was a joy. The home has everything you need for a very comfortable and relaxing stay. First, blankets, sheets, pillows, towels, beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers, beach toys, life jackets were just among the many things shared by the owners which means I don't have to bring a truck to make the trip!!!. Most importantly, the kitchen was well equipped including a great blender for mixing frozen drinks. The home is even more beautiful than the pics could possibly show. The decor is tastefully done without a lot of clutter and very clean, d organized and well maintained. Beautiful art work and wood floors in all the main rooms. My teen kids loved the paddle board and kayaks and used them all week! Cape Henelopen, just a minute away is great for bike riding, fishing, surf fishing, and access the the ocean. Lewes is a lovely town with unique places to shop and dine. We did a half day fishing trip from Lewes and not only caught croakers but enjoyed watching dolphins swimming with the boat. So many things to do and you don't have to travel far. A short drive will take you to the outlets, Rehobeth Boardwalk, and a water park. My husband was very impressed with the home and didn't want to leave. We've stayed in homes large and small, luxury and modest, but this was just right. We felt at home. Thank you, Ridings family. for sharing your wonderful home. Michael was very helpful and kind for helping us get in the house and his recommendations for places to eat. We enjoyed Agave very much! We highly recommend this lovely home and we will be returning next year.

Awesome Vacation Retreat on Lewes Beach

  • 5 of 5

My family has been renting in Pilot Point for years and this was by far the nicest place we have rented. We loved the open floor plan and being able to see the awesome bay views through the living room window and on the deck. We enjoyed all of the beach toys, paddle board and kayaks that were available for us to use. I would recommend this vacation rental and plan on renting again in the future.

Lewes beach

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time! The house was perfect for us. I loved that we could walk to the beach, and watch dolphins from the deck. I kayaked everyday, as did some of the adults and kids. I liked watching the ferry go in and out from, and the semi-private beach. Cape Henlopen State Park is right near there, for when the kids wanted the big waves. There are some nice stores in Lewes, and Rehobeth is a short drive away.
