About The Owner

We are four grandchildren who inherited this property from our grandfather who used it for many years as a small working farm. Three of us live in New England and one in California. We invested in a major restoration and equipped the home with modern appliances and amenities. We maintain and upgrade the property regularly.

We have a shared summer vacation home on an adjacent 3 acre parcel, and visit regularly during the summer. We have a resident caretaker who takes care of routine maintenance issues as they arise. One of the owners is usually on site in an adjacent home during the summer months.

The Owner purchased this farmhouse in 1990

Why The Owner chose Katama

This property has been in our family for 75 years. We visit frequently including every summer continuously since 1981. Our children and grandchildren visit and stay in an adjacent family property every summer.

What makes this farmhouse unique

All island outdoor activities, beach swimming, sailing, boating, clamming, fishing, biking, kayaking and socializing with friends and name just a few. Our children and grandchildren visit often. Very safe and ideal setting for young children

Our home is within walking distance to town to visit museums, art galleries, view scenic sites ,dining and shopping. We are near the Island-wide biking/walking trails which go to the local beaches and nature trails available for your families enjoyment.

Your family and friends may enjoy our property for safe, quiet outdoor activities. Have morning coffee with the rising sun and the beautiful sunsets while sipping you favorite beverage. You may even be lucky enough to see some of our wildlife. White-tailed Deer, wild turkeys and the local Red Tail Hawk often visit our fields.

Up Island Privacy but an easy walk to Edartown

  • 5 of 5

We rented this house with three boys (6, 8,10) and it was incredible! There was plenty of outdoor space to ride bikes and to explore yet it is an easy walk or bike ride to Edgartown. I loved the fact that the boys could be a bit independent as there were no cars around to worry about on their bikes. My parents own a house in Katama but we were outgrowing staying with multiple generations. We needed our own house and this was an incredible find. We have been coming to the island for 25 years and honestly you will not find anything better than this house if you are looking for a farm feel. It is fairly simple but well appointed. The kitchen has everything you need to make a big or small meal and the sitting room is very Vineyard with wide floor boards and bright yellow paint. You will love this spot and believe me I have searched high and low!
