About the property

Backed up to the Ouachita National Forest, and perched upon a hilltop, the Buena Vista Cottage gazes down upon one of the best views The Pea Patch Ranch has to offer. Enjoy a glass of iced tea from the front porch while watching the calves play -- or take an easy stroll down to the Caddo River for a cool dip in a private swimming hole. There are no schedules in The Pea Patch.

Buena Vista Cottage is a private Ouachita hideaway that sleeps six comfortably. The cottage home is a two-bedroom, two-full-bath arrangement, one queen bed, one full bed, hide-a-bed sofa. Satellite TV in den and queen room. Washer & dryer, 2-car carport. All linens are provided. Our large, fully equipped kitchen will make even a gourmet cook smile.

The Cottage's spacious den spans out to a remarkable glass solarium, which offers the most breathtaking view on the Ranch. The Glenwood Country Club Golf course is just 10 minutes away.

Very quiet and secluded.

  • 5 of 5

Was looking for something as a last minute quick trip, just luckily this property had a cancelation due to an emergency, I'm sorry for their misfortune but so happy we were able to grab this oasis. Quiet, beautiful view, secluded but still close to grocery store. We had 2 of our grandsons with us and they had a blast. No internet, no cell phone service just nice peaceful relaxation. We brought a couple of board games to keep us entertained before bed. Highly recommended for a family that needs to recharge.

Nice and Quiet

  • 5 of 5

Nice quiet place to relax. Mr and Mrs Cantrell were wonder hosts. They met us on our arrival and showed us around the large property and told us what was going on in town. We had all we needed for cooking indoors and outdoors. We all enjoyed our stay.

Idyllic ranch close to Caddo River activities

  • 5 of 5

So impressed with every aspect of our stay! Bridget (and the family dogs) gave us a tour of the property, from swimming hole to hiking paths. The house was well-stocked (pantry and bathrooms. etc.), the sunroom is gorgeous and relaxing, and the cows are friendly! Such a casual and relaxing weekend! We'll be back.

Wonderful piece of Heaven! Serene, peaceful, and beautiful!!!

  • 5 of 5

From watching the sunrise over the hilltops to swimming in the cool, crisp waters of the Caddo River, this place really is a home away from home in a stunningly beautiful setting! The house is cozy and welcoming, with great views of the countryside from the living room window wall. This is a perfect place to getaway and embrace the peace and relaxation of Nature!

Amazing place

  • 5 of 5

As city-dwellers, my girlfriend and I were pretty floored by this place. The natural scenery around the property is breathtaking and it's basically all yours from the moment you check in. Bridgett was very open, laid back and friendly. She gave us a full tour of the property and then allowed us total privacy.

The house itself is nestled into a forested hillside and looks out onto acres of pasture. You can easily walk to the river, or wander down any number of wooded nature trails, all of which are only accessible to you and the property owners. The house has all the conveniences you might need and there's plenty of extras.

Within about about a 15 min drive is Glenwood, where you can get groceries, gas and other supplies. In the opposite direction you have multiple nature areas, river access, and several options for gem hunting. There a probably lots of other fun activities, but we only stayed two nights.

We will absolutely come back, and I highly recommend this place to anyone vacationing in this area.
