Fantastic Vacation Getaway! Beautifully restored home.

  • 5 of 5

From start to finish this place was wonderful! Old world charm with modern conveniences and added touches of thoughtfulness through out the house.

The The Mary Ann Hale and Dick Hanelius House known as Seamist Gardens circa 1886 has weathered the storms of Acadia and makes for a wonderful vacation in Bass Harbor. The owners are super nice and showed up with candles after the power going out for a second time due to storms.

Highly recommended place for vacation.

Great stay...can't wait to do it again!

  • 5 of 5

Seamist Cottage was the perfect place for a laid back family getaway. The house was as advertised with plenty of room, comfortable beds, a modern kitchen and excellent layout to accommodate our large group of eight. The location the of cottage is also ideal if you want have easy access to the entire island but want to get away from the crowds and hustle and bustle of BarHarbor. The lovely village of SouthwestHarbor is just a few miles down the road for easy access to shops, restaurants and groceries. In addition, the BassHarbor Lighthouse, one of the last photographed lighthouses in the world is literally down the road and can easily reached on foot or bike. Can't wait to do it again!

Seamist Cottage

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful experience staying at the Seamist! Perfect for our family of five and corgi-retirever mix. The spacious cottage felt like home...well maintained and comfortable beds and living spaces and very well equipped kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms, even office supplies. Robin and Marc provided a wealth of information on places to visit for our first trip to Maine, and the cottage contained maps, guide book and flyers once we arrived. Very close to the lighthouse, walking paths, famed Thurston's Lobster Pound, and a short drive to Southwest Harbor and Acadia. Would love to return!

Just Like Home

  • 5 of 5

Seamist cottage is a cozy older home that made our family feel as if we were at home for the week. The furniture is comfortable, the kitchen is welll appointed. Our family of five adults, a toddler, and a dog had plenty of room. Owners Robin and Marc were wonderful hosts. The cottage is within walking distance of a wonderful restaurant and the Swans island ferry. Bass Harbor Lighthouse is a short drive up the road. We would definitely stay there again in the future.
