This newly remodeled private, air-conditioned, ocean view estate called Mangolani Inn is within walking distance to some of Maui's best beaches, restaurants and shops in the Historic Plantation town of Pa'ia. Mangolani Inn was just voted top 5 in Maui by Hawaii Magazine. Recently Paia was voted one of the 'happiest beach towns in America' by Costal Living Magazine and "Top 10 places to stay" by Pride of Maui. Vogue Magazine says it the place to be to escape the tourist treadmill. Our property offers stunning views of both the Ocean and Haleakala. Baldwin Beach and Pa'ia Bay's powdery white sands and crystal blue waters explain why they have been voted some of the worlds best beaches. The house has tile floors, quartz counters, bamboo accents. Sliding glass doors from bedrooms open out to a large covered ocean view lanai. Enjoy the privacy and tranquility of our grounds complete with Mango trees, Avocado tree, bananas, passion fruit, and a variety of tropical flowers to pick. We have hammocks, hot tub, bbq, laundry facilities, chase lounges, outdoor dinning tables, beach gear, bikes and surfboards. The property is completely fenced, secure and private. A security code is required to open the front gates and we have plenty of off street parking. The upstairs house has four bedrooms and a sleeping loft above living room. The master bedroom and one of the other rooms have king size beds while the rest of the rooms have queen sized. Three of the rooms share a bathroom and the master bedroom has it's own private bathroom. The optional 5th room is a treehouse built in the mango tree adjacent to the house. The Treehouse is connected to the main house as a lock out unit that can be rented as a fifth room or a private studio. The treehouse has a king size bed and sofa sleeper and can be rented out along with the 4 bedroom for an extra $200 per night. If the treehouse is rented out along with the 4 bedroom then 10 people can be accommodated. Otherwise we only allow up to 8 people to rent the 4 bedroom house. The upstairs house has a huge covered ocean view Lanai with BBQ and plenty of patio furniture to relax and enjoy the trade winds. The large kitchen/living room is well equipped with everything you need to cook and entertain.
If you need more space for larger groups or if you only need a smaller studio see vrbo #493470 for an additional units downstairs.

About Dave & Nyla
Aloha, I'm Dave. I grew up in Southern California as anxious surfer wanting to find the perfect wave. Every year traveling to Hawaii and never wanting to leave, but my 'job' always kept me stuck in LA. Finally one day in 2004 I decided I could not let my dreams be just dreams, and I quit my job, sold my house, and moved to Maui. My dream was to surf the biggest waves in the world, and create a relaxing tropical sanctuary to call home. This dream has become a reality...I got some huge waves! and... 'MangoLani Inn was born. I met the girl of my dreams and now we have an amazing son named Max. We hope to share our slice of paradise and the sprit of Aloha with you! Dave, Max and Nyla
Dave & Nyla purchased this House in 2005
Why Dave & Nyla chose Paia
I chose this property because of its size and location. It's a nice sized lot compared to others around us. 15,600 sq ft. The location is great! 10 min to airport or less. 10 min walk to Paia town and 15 min walk to the beaches. We are surrounded by sugar cane fields so there are not many neighbors. Great ocean views looking over swaying cane grass. The trade winds are always blowing here too so it's like natural air conditioning. Paia sits on the edge of the 'dry belt' meaning we don't get nearly as much rainfall as properties in Haiku area only a 15 min drive east. Sometimes it rains for a week there and it's sunny here all week.
What makes this House unique
We have 2 huge mango trees and a giant avocado tree. Bananas and Papaya's grow like weeds! Starfruit, mountain apple, pineapple, surinam cherries, and passion fruit can be picked also. We have 3 really nice dogs and cat that are always happy to meet new people. A new Yoga Studio and organic cafe just opened a few doors up the street at the Historic Paia Train Depot. It's called Maui Yoga Shala and Island Fresh Cafe.....Namaste

Perfect spot for our extended family -- beautiful and comfortable
We needed a base camp while our 4-nuclear family group cooked together, bedded a toddler down for naps, walked to Paia, spent days at the beach, taking drives or hiking. We found a fantastically equipped kitchen, a truly family-size table on the lanai, a beautifully appointed house and grounds, and comfortable beds. Everything was beautifully maintained and all the staff as well as Dave were gracious, warm and fun. As our kids would say, Mangolani Inn is Awesome!
Second time we've stayed. Convenient to airport. Close walk to paia. Clean and modern. Will definitely go back.
A quiet getaway close to town
My friends and I have stayed at Mangolani three years in a row, and each year is better than the last. The owner has put a lot of thought and care to creating a beautiful property that is very comfortable, clean, and well maintained. The property manager is really on top of it, too -- he's super responsive and easy to work with. You can't beat the convenient location that still allows you to escape the noise and business closer to town, and the property really allows you to relax and chill between site-seeing excursions and going to the beach. I would definitely recommend this place to others, and we can't wait to come back!
Thanks Patrick! It's always a pleasure having a good group of people at Mangolani. Next year will be even better! We really appreciate your business as repeat customer. See you guys again soon.
Gangbusters! Tropical Hideout/Hangout
The Listing description didn't include the aloha spirit that is part of Upcountry Maui. The photos reflecting the rental's appearance are right on!......Including the cat with a Namaste sign in the background. The property is clean and well maintained - gardeners and maintenance folks seemed to be always doing something helpful. There was always someone on hand to answer questions. The fun town of Paia is either 4 minutes down the hill (if you're 13 years old or 15 of you're 65). The grocery store, Mana, local eateries, the shave ice lady's place are all favorites for our family. I'd soooooo recommend this place!
Great place - great folks :)
My wife, daughter and I had the privilege of staying at the Mangolani.
Great place! Despite being on Baldwin Road, the landscaping, fencing and design give it a very secluded feel. Once inside the gates, you truly are in a sanctuary. The Treehouse is a fabulous set-up with great views and is decorated very tastefully. Everything was clean, modern and functional.
Fantastic place and looking forward to coming back with a group! Thanks Dave!
My son & I stayed for 16 days and I've never know such great hospitality. Dave and his girlfriend made us feel so at home. The whole place was awesome. Even though they were under construction, it was still very homey. They helped us out when we needed a place to stay. I would highly recommend Dave's place. Just walking distance to a cool old hippie town which was right up my alley. The town had so much to offer and great great food. Charlies is a must. Owned by Willie Nelson. I will recommend this to everyone. I'm looking forward to future stays with Dave. Aloha and Mahalo !!!!!!
Paia is the best little beach town on Maui, and recently nominated the 'Happiest Beach Town in America'. It's often overlooked by the mainstream travelers that get sucked into the tourist treadmill of Wailea, Kihei, Kaanapali, and Lahaina. Paia has 'old Hawaii' feeling. No corporate chain stores and strip malls. It's all mom and pop style shops and restaurants. Most of the restaurants offer organic foods grown locally and you will also find the best Health Food store on island here in Paia. Mana Foods.
There are eclectic shops full of all kinds of unique merchandise you won't find anywhere else. In Paia you can take a yoga class, get a massage, go for a surf, eat healthy, and meet some of the nicest people on island. 'There is music in the cafe's at night and revolution in the air.'
