Why Matthew Calrk chose Smoky Mountains

We purchased this property from our neighbors in 2000. The views were quite inspiring! We considered a long-term rental but then realized we needed to do a gut-renovation. We started in late 2005 and finished the renovation in 2007.We have been renting the Suite as a short-term vacation rental ever since. Our home is also on the property but you will never see us unless you want to. We are usually "around" should you need any assistance. Your complete privacy, however, is assured.

What makes this cottage unique

The Suite is very convenient to downtown Asheville and The Blue Ridge Parkway. And the view? Unbelievable!

Cozy, Stunning, and Well-equipped

  • 5 of 5

The Suite was absolute perfection. Matt's attention to detail and aesthetics is evident from the moment you walk into the suite. He provided fruit, eggs, coffee, creamer, etc. in the kitchen and then elsewhere an iron, distilled water for the iron, and plenty of towels, plus many other details. The view is not so bad, either ;-). We had an incredible time.

Matt, thank you for your flexibility in arrival time. We LOVE your place!

Amazing place to stay.

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here in July 2017 for our honeymoon. It could not have been better! The location is perfect, it feels like a cabin in the woods while still being only a short drive from downtown Asheville. It is also very close to the Blue Ridge Parkway. It was very quiet and peaceful, a perfect place to relax and unwind. The view is amazing and has a beautiful deck to sit and enjoy the view. The house itself is immaculate and has everything you could need (fully stocked kitchen and also basics like salt, pepper, oil, coffee etc). Matt and Steven were very nice, they even left us a dozen roses and some snacks when we checked in. I would highly recommend staying here. I would love to come back and stay again when I return to Asheville.

The Whole Package

  • 5 of 5

This property has a wonderful mountain view and all the amenities one could hope for and more. The kitchen was well-equiped and even included condiments such as olive oil, red wine vinegar, Old Bay, etc. The furniture was comfortable as was the bed. We enjoyed it so much that we booked a return trip next May. The location is excellent as it is 10 minutes or less to town but it retains a secluded mountain getaway feeling. This property is a winner!
