Great location for touring Paris. Well kept building and apartment with comfortable beds and full kitchen. The representative was very responsive and helpful. Elevator available to reach the fourth floor.
Lovely and Comfortable Apartment
My husband and I, along with my 88-year-old mother and my 27-year-old son, stayed in this charming apartment for a week and had an absolutely wonderful time! From the moment we stepped in the door, we felt at home. We loved being in this district and were thrilled to be within short walking distance of museums, markets, bakeries, and excellent restaurants, as well as taxis and local transit, which only added to the comfort of our visit.
Situated near the Louvre, we were at ease in our surroundings and enjoyed "living" in the neighborhood. This home provided everyone with their own private space and comfortable sleeping quarters. The two bathrooms and WC's afforded four adults the opportunity to easily prepare for our busy days of touring. Having a full kitchen allowed us to leisurely begin each morning with coffee or tea, along with pastries and other treats from nearby shops. A huge plus was the excellent wi-fi service, as both my husband and son needed to occasionally check-in on business back in the States. Also appreciated were the washer and dryer which helped us catch up on laundry during the last leg of our travels.
Although the apartment is not air conditioned, we found that the windows throughout offered wonderful cross-breezes when opened, even in the middle of August. A minor complaint was with regard to bath linens. Although the bath sheets were lovely, we would have appreciated the addition of a couple of hand towels and washcloths. Also, with the draperies drawn, all the rooms had a tendency to be quite dark - a huge plus when sleeping. However, a couple of the light fixtures had blown bulbs - or no bulb at all - which made it a bit difficult to see when searching for things in the evening. Other than those two small inconveniences, I would highly recommend this apartment to a group of 4 to 6 people who are looking to visit beautiful Paris and wish to immerse themselves in the experience of "living" in one of its most delightful neighborhoods.
We especially appreciated the communication in advance of our visit provided by Neil and Irene Ford. Romain, their site manager, offered excellent suggestions and tips for our stay and was immediately responsive the one time there was an issue with the lift - having it repaired the same day.
We would not hesitate to again book this lovely apartment and look forward to doing so in the future.
Central Paris location
Very walkable to many attractions. Busy location, but surprisingly quiet at night. We were there three nights and did not see another tenant in the building the whole time (just maintenance workers painting the staircase). Many vintage features like wooden floors, old school windows, high ceilings, but also interesting bathroom set up and bedroom configuration likely due to period of building. If traveling during high heat days, there is no A/C, but many fans are provided. It was in the low 80Fs (28 C) while we were there, and apartment would cool down at night with open windows. Owners friend met us and showed key aspects of the apartment, including the front door (which requires some touch to work the lock and key). Stairs are steep and a bit shallow. A small elevator (two adults or 1 adult and a couple pieces of luggage) is very helpful - stops just a few feet in front of the apartment. Owner provided great suggestion on car service (MKJ-Transfer) which were top notch. Restaurant suggestions were great as well. If traveling from outside Europe, make sure and bring power outlet converters.
Great location with lots of space for my family of 6
The location was fantastic, close to shops, restaurants and the metro. There was an elevator so it didn't matter it was on the fourth floor. For Paris standards the apartment was huge. My three kids all had space of their own. There were two bathing rooms and two toilets. Kitchen was nice and spacious and equipped with everything you will need to cook a meal. The gentleman was waiting for us at the front door with keys and explained how to use everything. The nicest and very helpful. I would highly recommend this location.
Loved the location, great apartment and good recommendations
We were very happy with the location of this apartment! Too cool being so close to the Louvre and metro.
The apartment absolutely met the needs of my group of 6.
We enjoyed the large windows, being able to get the Paris air flowing through the apartment, the character of the building (including lots of steps -- we chose to climb them, there is an elevator.)
The dining recommendations from the owners were very helpful. We terribly enjoyed some of the nearby restaurants as well as the proximity to the Seine.
It's worth noting that the one bedroom is a bit awkward as it's sandwiched between the large bedroom and the kitchen. It does have it's own bathroom, though :).
Thanks much for the nice apartment. I would certainly consider it for a future trip to Paris.
We loved staying here, we were in close proximity to the Louvre, fabulous restaurants, such as Verjus, and all of us were able to sleep comfortably. Thanks so much for letting us use your beautiful home!
