Come for fun and stay for comfort. Our house has been in our family for several years and its lovingly decorated with thoughtful decoration and comfortable amenities. House is situated on a 4.5 acre with the sound of river below and privacy of your own home. Main house has three bedrooms, sunroom/library, two full bath, large kitchen with a separate dining area. Living room is large with wood burning fireplace and abundance of games and books to keep you company. In the guest room, above the storage/garage is a bedroom with en suite bathroom. Two car garage and large storage area for your bikes, canoes, rafts, or fishing pole.

Keywords: 1861 Gold Miner's two story victorian farmhouse. Main house is 1800 sq. feet. Guest room is roomy and spacious. A garage and room for storage - bikes and rods. 5 acre property with room to spread out.

Moving in nature's rhythm - slow to medium. We love the porch-life with warm afternoon wind caressing us while sipping a margarita after a long day of biking, swimming, or hiking.

                                                            The house was charming, cozy and perfect for our friend group of 9. We made good use of the communal dining table with its nice views. It snowed in town while we were there and the house kept us nice and warm. The garage had a big mud room which was great for storing mountain bikes while we were there. The Owner, Sun, was warm and easy to deal with and gave us a prompt deposit refund. Downieville in general exceeded our expectations and the mountain biking trails were gorgeous.

                                                            Perfect accommodation for us six guys who did some riding out of Downieville. Had a garage for the bikes and an extra room attached to garage for all the gear. That was a bonus. House was rustic in a good way. Kitchen and bathrooms nice and updated. My bed was comfy. Overall was very pleased.

                                                            Amazing historical house in downtown Downieville

                                                            My friends and I had an amazing weekend riding bikes and relaxing in Downieville. Sun's house was perfect for what we wanted and the garage was a great addition. The wifi was strong which is rare around Downieville so that helped us get some work done after sneaking out of the office early on Friday. There is an awesome swimming hole about 200 yards away and downtown is walking distance. With this house being built in 1861, it has been renovated to be very nice but it still holds it's historical look. I would highly recommend staying at this location.

                                                            A group of us came up to Downieville to mountain bike, fish and swim. This place delivered. Amazing house surrounded by open space, walking distance from downtown and swimming holes. And of course, right at the bottom of the trails. Perfect.

                                                            This was my 2nd time staying at this historic Downieville house, and I plan on returning again. I was there with 5 friends for a weekend of mountain biking, and the location is perfect - very close to the 1st Divide trail. There is a beautiful outdoor seating area that affords a sweeping view of the mountains as you enjoy your morning coffee, or enjoy the dinner you just grilled up on the BBQ. The house feels tucked away and private, but is still close to downtown. The bedrooms are comfortable, and the house is very well-appointed. The owners are very communicative, and easy to work with. Definitely worth a stay!

                                                            I rented this location for a cabin trip with friends last year. I hopped online to check availability for this year and saw (to my horror) that I hadn't left a review of this absolutely charming place. **hand spank**

                                                            Let me tell you, this place is simply stunning!! Tons of privacy for a relaxing vacay away. The deck was massive and great for lounging and a BBQ. We traveled with 4 couples and not once felt crowded. Short walk into the downtown area. Tons of parking. The house had tons of amenities including a fantastic kitchen, wi-fi. I also loved that the home had a cabin/at-home feel, while still having modern up-to-date comforts. My commuication with Sun immediately put me at ease - which can be difficult when you are renting a place you've never seen. She went above and beyond and even provided a very thorough walk-through guide of the house on the counter, that had everything we needed to know and more. Sun was more than a homeowner I rented from, it was like visiting the home of a friend. As you can see, I am returning and planning on making this our annual go-to Downieville spot. Sun, thanks again for opening your home to my friends and I.
