joseph pyskaty purchased this house in 2004
Joe's cabin was superb! It was much nicer than the pictures appeared. We (two retired couples) stayed for four nights. Each day, we made the very short drive to Glacier for hiking and sightseeing. The kitchen facilities were perfect for making a big breakfast and dinner at the end of the day. The living area was very nice, perfect for morning coffee and wine in the evening. Joseph was a very good host. He came right over to make sure we were settled, and called later to make sure everything was comfortable. The upstairs beds were very nice. The cabin could easily handle another couple. We never even used the downstairs level. We would absolutely stay there again. This cabin is a gem for a big family or several couples.
This log cabin was perfect for our family of 4. The 3 bedrooms were large, plenty of beds which included a master with a queen bed, bunk beds in one room and a loft and queen bed in another and there was even an extra bed in the basement. We loved the kitchen and the living area, perfect size to relax after a long day at the park. We had a bonfire in the backyard and enjoyed a beautiful evening.
The house is within 10 minutes of West Glacier and the entrance to the park, which was perfect! It was close to several restaurants/saloons, grocery store and gas stations. The neighborhood was quiet while we were there.
The house was very, very clean and had everything we needed. When we had questions the owner, Joe, was very quick to respond and even came to drop off matches 5 minutes after we asked him if he had a lighter for the fire. He was also very fast responding to emails.
This log cabin is awesome! The owner has a strong grasp of the concept of under promise, over deliver! Don't let the location or photos fool you, this beautiful cabin proved terrific for our family of five, with a rustic exterior, bbq, fire pit and modern interior with all the comforts of home. I almost didn't write a review because I didn't want anyone else to find out about this Treasure of the Treasure State! Close to all the action and just minutes away from the West Glacier Park entrance, we plan on coming back again and again, that is, if it's available!
The house was extremely comfortable and clean. Owner left everything we needed for our week in the park. He was helpful.
Our family of six fit well with the queen master, queen bedroom and bunk beds. The loft bed is in the room with a queen. We enjoyed the grill and outdoors.
We stayed here for over a week during our visit to Glacier National Park. We had a fantastic time. Here were some of our family's favorite things:
The taxidermy: Bear, cat, more! Love it.
Foosball and air hockey. Kids always had something to do.
Three big TVs with satellite, plenty of movies and Wii games.
Cool basement - in the summer it can get a bit warm, but the basement was always cool. In fact, my son started in the loft, but given the July heat, he moved down to the basement to sleep.
Great backyard. Ample room to build a fire in the pit, do a BBQ on the deck, or watch the rabbit.
Desktop computer and Wi-Fi.
Only downside is the saloon down the street - but though we thought it might get loud, it was not really a bother at all.
Owners were very accommodating and helpful. I love the house - I want to build my own cabin just like that for retirement. Thanks so much!
This cabin is very roomy. It's perfect for a big group. It says it sleeps 6, but you can definitely sleep more. Between the very large L-shaped couch in the basement, to the loft bedroom, and the bunk beds, you can comfortably sleep 8. To top it off, Joe (the owner) is a really swell guy. He returned the deposit in a super fast, timely manner, and he was very cordial and always answered my emails right away.
This place isn't far from Glacier Park, so if you're looking to visit & hike, it's a perfect headquarters. You are close to a grocery store (2 minute drive) and a local tavern(just a block away), so it's worth renting the cabin.
