About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms + Loft, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 9-10)

Nestled in the enchanting ancient woods of the Selkirk mountains, your family will enjoy this beautiful Native American motif inspired and fully-equipped 2,400 square foot lakefront home located near the North Shore of Priest Lake near the prestigious area of Huckleberry Bay. Enjoy lounging on the home’s large deck and marvel at the serene beauty of the lush surrounding mountains or wander to your private 100 feet of shoreline to splash and have fun in the pristine waters. You will enjoy swimming in the calm and crystal clear waters, which is safe for children as the entire area between the breakwall and the home is a shallow (4 ft) sand bottom and great to play in. Southern exposure in the yard and shoreline area allows you to enjoy the warmth of the sunshine from sunrise to sunset. The highlight of this property is that it is located at the entrance to the channel that passes to Upper Priest Lake area that may be accessed by motorized boat (5 mph) or with a serene early morning or late evening canoe trip on the calm waters where you will likely encounter several moose and other wildlife wandering along the shorelines. The home site borders the Upper Priest Lake wilderness area where you can indulge in hiking, mountain climbing and mountain biking on endless mountain trails. There is a private 45’ x 8’ boat dock located on the property, which is available for your use, so bring your boat, canoe, kayak and watertoys to enjoy the pleasures the lake has to offer. This area of the lake is a perfect environment for water skiing and sailing. Enjoy evenings sitting alongside a roaring campfire at your own outside firepit.

This warm and cozy lakefront home has a fully equipped kitchen with fridge, stove, oven and microwave, three bedrooms (1st bdrm: king size bed, 2nd bdrm: queen size bed, 3rd bdrm: bunk bed, single bed and futon), three full bathrooms and a private loft area for tv and reading area. Linens and towels are provided. There is an additional fridge located in the garage for additional cold storage during your stay.

You will love your stay and you will want to return! This property calls out to any writers or naturalists in September or October where they can embark upon the peace and solitude the lake and wilderness offers at that time of the year.

For more pictures, you can go to Google Earth and type in “The Thorofare Priest Lake Idaho”. If you zoom in, your vacation home is the 4th dock as you enter the thorofare. The big bay on the right is Huckleberry Bay.

Checkin and checkout dates are Saturdays. Discounted monthly rates available upon request.

Great owner

  • 5 of 5

Since we have stayed here previously we were anxiously looking forward to spending another week at this home this summer. Unfortunately this season was plagued with fires all over the Northwest, and in the days leading up to our anticipated stay a Level 1 evacuation order was announced. The owner contacted us and was very accommodating, in the end offering a full refund, allowing us to make other plans away from the area. We were sad the change was necessary, but Larry showed great integrity. Nice move! We are anxious to return in the future.

perfect week in July!!

  • 5 of 5

Two families, with 3 kids each stayed here, and it could not have been a better week! the weather was fantastic( 90 degrees, sunshine every day!), the water was warm( 76 !), calm, and it was very quiet and private. The view from the cabin is spectacular, and the dock has been updated from the photos here. Just lovely, and the owners are super helpful and accommodating! I Cannot recommend enough! Thanks again, Larry, for an easy, wonderful summer vacation!

Our stay was great. The house was better than expected, roomy, clean and in a great location for hiking, swimming, beaches, canoes, kayaks and skiing. The house was well-equipped. Thanks to the owners for their efforts in seeing that our week went well.

P & S

  • 5 of 5

Our stay in late June ran the gammut of warm weather and one day of drenching downpour that gave us time to play games and visit as a family. This is a great vacation spot and close to Silverwood if you have amusement park and water park oriented people also. A beautiful place to vacation! Great hiking, swimming, boating and playing. Museums, restaurants, boat gas and beautiful scenery close. If you take a boat, put in at Coolin for free and Indian Creek State Park for a fee. Then boat to the north end of the lake to tie up. Canoes and kayaks can go in/out at Lions Head State Park for a fee. Get a local map of trails or check out the map on the house wall in the living room. The view from the windows are breathtaking no matter the weather. Toys were there for younger kids but might want to take your own! Especially water toys. Pretty cool this time of year for swimming but with a wetsuit the skiing was great! Thanks to the owners for a great place to have a family reunion!

July 4th "Get Away"

  • 5 of 5

We had 8 people stay at this cabin for a week and it was fantastic!! This cabin is perfect for those looking to "Get away" and enjoy the beauty and serenity of Priest Lake. It's location at the entrance to the causeway between Lower Priest and Upper Priest is perfect. The view down the lake is spectacular.

The cabin itself is roomy and has plenty of space for extended family members. (3 Brm - 3 Bath) The best thing about the cabin is the owners willingness to let you use all the "extras". (Canoe, kids toys, bikes, very nice fire pit, (even the wood) etc.) You really don't need to bring much except a laid back attitude and you will have a great time.

Thanks for letting us share.
