About Maureen Donegan

Two sisters, Colleen Kelly and Mimi Donegan, and Mimi's husband, Mike Donegan, began building this home in 2008. It has truly been a labor of love! Our Irish heritage has contributed to the three of us being a bit clannish by nature, so when we decided to build, we wanted the house to be big enough for a large gathering of family and friends. We hope our home will be a place for you and your loved ones to enjoy for years to come!

Maureen Donegan purchased this house in 2011

Couldn't have been better!

  • 5 of 5

We rented this house for two weeks and had up to 13 people there at a time. We slept everyone comfortably and weren't sharing sleeping surfaces or using air mattresses, or pullouts. The house is even bigger than we had thought from the advertisement! It's absolutely perfect for a big group or family.

We are an educational nonprofit who chose this house to run our annual training for field staff. We were able to utilize different areas for different activities. There was plenty of room to spread out and have break-out sessions comfortably. We played pool and ping pong downstairs and were able to make some noise down there without interrupting those trying to sleep upstairs. The main living room is warm and inviting, it was the hub of activity and used for playing games together in the evenings. The kitchen has enough space for the cooks to do their thing on one side of the island while others share wine and hors d'oeuvres on the other, while everyone can engage with one another. The nearby pond has wonderful trails for running or walking and the grocery store and small town are nearby. The owners were helpful and responsive and the house manager too. Couldn't have asked for a better spot!

Bronx Birder

  • 5 of 5

The place is fantastic -- remarkably spacious with a real homey feel. Seems like it can sleep a hundred people, yet so comfy at the same time. Bedrooms are beautiful. I could probably live a deeply meaningful life without ever leaving that deck! I've been there in the summer and the fall and it's wonderfully enchanting during both seasons; I have to imagine spring and winter are equally delightful. Found a "life bird," the Alder Flycatcher about a mile down the road. I cannot say enough about this place.

A true gem! We rented this beautiful home for 5 consecutive ski seasons! Three families of 4 shared it and loved every second! The house is spacious, bright and sunny yet cozy too. It has everything you need - a well stocked kitchen, cozy sitting areas, large dining room table, a playroom with pool table, den with big screen tv and lots of beds! You can't go wrong renting this beautiful home for any length of time! This home is newly built, very clean, decorated very nicely and you truly feel like you are on vacation when you are there. We were there for a week end in August and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The setting is cozy, quiet and private surrounded by green forest, yet it is very accessible to Londonderry and surrounding towns. The décor is lovely and home. We all enjoyed ping pong, pool and darts on the ground floor...or TV and CD player, if you prefer. The deck was a great place for a lazy breakfast or star-gazing at night. There isn't anything I can think of that needs to be added to this place. Loved our stay although it was too short.

Everything you need for a great time!

  • 5 of 5

This was our fourth visit to this property (in various groupings), and this time we had a party of 10, ranging in age from 17 to 82. I just can't say enough good things about this wonderful "getaway" house! It is a beautiful home, simply and tastefully decorated, but with no detail spared. Plenty of comfortable beds to go around, with additional floor space on the top floor if you have a larger party. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, utensils, cookware, etc. - all you have to bring are the groceries! There is even a dishwasher, so you don't have to spend too much time cleaning up. We enjoyed our coffee and breakfast out on the large deck, watching woodpeckers and a lone hummingbird in the nearby trees. At night, everyone gathered in the comfortable living room to play some of the games that were provided by the house. And down on the lower level is a pool table that can easily be converted to a ping pong table - this was a lot of fun, also. While our mornings and late evenings were largely spent relaxing at the house, our days were spent exploring the surrounding towns and gorgeous countryside. The house is located close to a lake (sorry, the name escapes me at the moment) where we hiked and took in the scenery. We also enjoyed a fun farmer's market in Londonderry on Saturday morning (where we purchased cheese, vegetables and cherry pies for that evening's dinner), a trip to an amazing bookstore (Northside?) in Manchester, a contemplative Sunday morning service at the Weston Priory and a great matinee show at the Weston Playhouse (not to mention a side-trip to the famous Vermont Country Store, also in Weston). We are not a skiing family, so have never stayed here in the winter, but can highly recommend this area and especially, this house for a fun and relaxing getaway in the Summer or Fall. Many thanks to our hosts for providing the perfect place!

Incredibly Beautiful House

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing time at this house. It was incredibly beautiful, and the floor plan worked well for a vacation house for multiple couples, some with children. The kitchen was well-stocked, there was more than enough dishes and silverware for everyone, and I loved the open floor plan for the kitchen and living room. The ground floor bedrooms were perfect for the kids- we could shut the pocket door and block out the noise so the kids could sleep but the grown ups could stay up and socialize. It's a very well thought out floor plan!

The owners were really easy to work with and are great at communicating. We had no problems during our stay.

We had such a great time during our weekend here that we booked it again a few months later, and I can't wait until we can come back again!
