About Karen Meyer
We call the cabin "The Dairy" in honor of our Swedish Grandfather, William C. Tell - who made his living through a dairy in California. The Tell Dairy was always a wonderful place to visit. Riding on the tractors, watching the milking machines, feeding the cows and calves, and playing in the almond orchard were big treats. But more important was the family time, the reunions, the laughs and the jokes. Morfar (which means mother's father in Swedish) died in 1993. During the memorial weekend celebration, all of his grandchildren crafted a dream that we wanted to share a family home someday that celebrated Morfar's love of family; a place that we could come to and share time. We named it "the Dairy"and fictitiously described it as a log home, near mountains, a lake, skiing, golf, hiking and it had to be less than 2 hours from a major airport so we could all get there easily. The Dairy is a dream come true.

Perfect for family fun!
Our family of 8 humans and two dogs stayed at The Dairy for an extended weekend. The home is set up for a perfect stay. A master bedroom downstairs and one upstairs to accommodate those who like it warm and those who prefer a cooler temp for sleeping (this old lady). So many little touches that make a big difference such as a bin full of dog toys, lots of dishes & flatware so we never ran out; A functioning hot tub all to ourselves; a good-sized dining room table for all 8 of us; A perfect location to get to all the ski resorts. The owner Karen, is very responsive and you can tell she has put a lot of effort and thought into making their home, our temporary home as well. We will be back!
We’re so glad you enjoyed your stay at our loved cabin. It’s our vacation spot too, so you experienced all that we appreciate in a get-away location. We look forward to hosting you again!
My family of 13 and two pups stayed at the Dairy over the Christmas holiday. It was a packed house, but so cozy and comfortable with amazing views!! Karen (owner) responded to all questions and concerns very quickly. I would highly recommend!
Amazing home with incredible views
This 3 level true log cabin was comfortable and cozy yet spacious enough for 5 adults to have adequate privacy. The house was well furnished, easily accessed from town, and had a huge deck with the most amazing views in Silverthorne. Karen was always available to answer any questions we had regarding our stay. We will definitely return to stay here in the future.
Perfect for intergenerational get-together!
We had such a lovely time in this beautiful cabin. It was a particularly good match for us because if how child friendly it was. Great communication with owners. We even saw a moose and her baby off the back deck!
Star Spangled 3 Night Stay
This Cabin was a rustic delight with all the amenities including beautiful views of the mountain range, the Blue River winding its way down the valley and just outside the back door lupin covered hills. We were 10 adults - all family, we had all we needed to prepare our meals in a kitchen fully stocked with utensils, dishes and coffee mugs. There was no shortage with towels and soaps either. We could all gather on the deck, at the dining table and even had space for privacy in this three story delightful log cabin.
We celebrated July 4th in the Rocky Mountains and brought home many wonderful memories with hopes to return to create many more. x
