Nice condo in a great location
Great location, very close to the beach, restaurants, bike rentals, bakery, and so on.
This unit is an "inside" unit, so the only windows are: one in the bedroom facing Gulf Blvd and the sliding glass doors on the opposite end facing the beach. No windows along the left or right sides, though that didn't bother us.
The beds very comfortable and the furniture in good shape.
There's a George Foreman style electric griddle on a pedestal out on the balcony. It worked great for hot dogs, burgers and Reubens.
There is a TV, but it's quite old with a poor picture and muffled sound. There are no premium movie channels, though that wasn't a big deal, as we brought our Roku box and plugged it into the router which is sitting on top of the TV. If you want to do the same, you should know that there is no HDMI port on the TV, only the old style composite and component jacks. We had to buy an adapter ($38 at RadioShack) as we only had an HDMI cable for our Roku.
As others have mentioned, there appears to be no sound insulation between the floors. We heard every step from the unit above.
Overall, the unit was clean and in very good shape, with the exception of a couple of major items. First, there are two sliding glass doors (with a fixed one in the middle). This is nice for those days when you can turn off the A/C and open the sliders. Unfortunately, one of the two sliding screens was missing and the other one had no wheels so it was difficult to slide open.
The other item, and my biggest complaint, was that when we received the check-in instructions around a week before check-in, it included the following note:
The thermostat CANNOT be set below 72°. In most cases, this will cause the coils to freeze over, rending the system inoperable. If the thermostat is set below 72°, guests will be responsible for repairs and/or loss of their security deposit.
Having made the reservation a year in advance, I was quite upset to receive that information a week before check-in. To pay this kind of money for a place in Florida and be told when it's too late to do anything about it that the air conditioner doesn't work properly borders on misrepresentation in my opinion. It left a very sour taste in my mouth which is a shame, as this was otherwise a good rental. As it turned out, 72 was fine during the day, but not cool enough for sleeping—for me, anyway. There is a ceiling fan in each bedroom, which helped.
Wonderful location to the beach
This was our first time to Indian Rocks Beach and we loved it! The condo has a wonderful location to the beach. Located directly off Gulf Blvd, though convenient ,was noisy as the master bedroom is located on the street side. But when not in Master bedroom we did not hear any noise other than when the people upstairs walked. There is no soundproofing between floors.
The condo was very clean and well equipped for our month long stay.
We were able to walk with our dog every morning to the dog park, which is ajacent to the Nature Trail, which is a fun walk.
Lots of great restaurants within walking distance and some great ones within a couple of miles. Favorites were Slyce Pizza, Crabby Bills, Keegan's and Guppys.
Best location on Indian Rocks Beach
Let me start off by saying that this was by far my best experience at Indian Rocks beach that I’ve had in my life. The condo was exactly as pictured, pristine and immaculate. The beach was beautiful and the weather perfect. There is only a short walk to get there, on which you will pass a pool and other beach goers who are looking for the same relaxing atmosphere you are. Inside the condo there is a lot of natural light, so the outdoors is never far away. My family and I used the grill on the balcony, while watching the sun set go down. Being able to grill outside with my family is a touch of home, in paradise. The kitchen is probably my favorite feature of the condo. The kitchen has full size appliances that were also very clean. That is usually the first place that I look, for cleanliness, when staying at a condo. Having the full size appliances was wonderful for an early dinner when everyone was too tired from the beach to leave the condo, or a quick lunch before heading back to the beach. The condo is perfectly located near a variety of restaurants and pubs, two of my favorites being the Red Lion and Pj’s Oyster Bar. I felt as if the owner went above and beyond with their service. They were quick to reply, very easy to talk to, and also very knowledgeable about the area. I would highly recommend this condo to anyone looking to enjoy the Gulf and all that it has to provide. I will definitely be staying here again, most likely this summer!
We love IRB
We found the condo just like it was pictured. Very clean and comfortable. The mattresses and pillows were wonderful. We love this area for its charm and relaxing feel that is family oriented and not so touristy. Great beach. Peaceful and makes for a very refreshing week. We recommend eating at Crabby Bill"s which we always make our place to eat when we visit the area. Great breakfasts and seafood. Property is clean and spacious. Missed the 5 star rating because the sofa is a bit on the uncomfortable side and we prefer tile floors vs carpet. Other than that, you will not regret staying here.
GREAT Family Vacation
IRB was wonderful - not crowded (even on the weekend), beautiful beach, warm water and only a minute or two from our door! Didn't have to worry about losing track of the kids in the crowd and they got to see a manatee as it swam right by us! A little pool time in the evenings was the perfect end to a lazy beach day.
The trip to Orlando and Tampa to take in Sea World and Adventure Island was easy. While we didn't venture out much (since just about everything we needed was already at the condo for us to use) the restaurants were all very family friendly and reseasonably priced. Pinky's Ice Cream (just across the street) was my personal favorite! :)
It felt like we were safe at home only with a wonderful beach just by the door. The condo was spacious and clean. The kitchen had nearly everything we needed to have family meals (a quick trip to the store and we were stocked for the week!)
We hope to be back soon!
First trip to Indian Rocks Beach
We found the condo clean and all appliances in excellent working condition. Access to the beach is just a few hundred feet from the condo. The beach in this area is clean, not crowded, and provides access to view beautiful sunsets. John's Pass is 12 to 15 minutes to the south and Clearwater Beach is a bit closer to the north. Food, grocery, and department store shopping is just a few miles east of the beach.
Clearwater is a quiet Florida town that boasts some of the most beautiful beaches in all of Florida. Wiggle your toes in the sugary soft sand, partake in the wide array of watersports available, or spend the day sightseeing. No matter what Clearwater activities you choose, you can't go wrong with a Clearwater vacation and iTrip.net's lineup of Clearwater condo rentals. There are also many shops near our Clearwater condos, a little something for every kind of shopper. At Countryside Mall, not only can you enjoy great shopping but also beat the summer heat on the indoor ice-rink located at the center of the mall.
