Why Sara Smania chose Padua
This charming PadovaResidence apartment is located in the city centre, in Corso milano 106 close to the pedestrian area and the Scrovegni Chapel. We think is one of the best areas to stay in Padua, a privileged spot surrounded with Art, History, Culture close aslo to everything you need during your holiday. Very close to the apartment there are shops, supermarket, grocery, pharmacy, bank, cafes, restaurants and the typical daily market in the “Piazza della Frutta” and in the “Piazza delle Erbe” where you can find the typical Italian food: meat, cheese, wines, and especially fruits and vegetables. For those of you that prefer to cook at home, you will be happy to find a supermarket right in the street next to the house. So it’s easy and funny for you to self organize breakfast and meal!
What makes this Apartment unique
Local shopping is great and the neighborhood is very lively, safe and central. The apartment AL CORSO is 3 minutes walking to the Verdi Theatre, the best in Padova Restourants, Bars, Supermarkets, Wine-bars, Banks and all the shops you need are in the streets very close the house. The nearest supermarket called: META, is just 20 metres from the front door! Just 5 minutes walking along the river to the old city centre and its beautiful monuments, the Old University, the Cathedral, Palazzo della Ragione and the famous 3 squares: Piazza dei Signori, Piazza delle Erbe and Piazza della Frutta. Comfortable and quiet, great location and fantastic host
We loved the apartment and the location. It was exactly as advertised and portrayed, clean, welcoming, homey.
Sara was right there to let us in when we arrived. She was very welcoming and helpful. She showed us around and offered advice on things going on in town and nearby restaurants, shops and the best “Gelateria” in Padova, very close to the apartment.
The flat was roomy and provided everything we needed, no complaints at all. There were plenty of kitchen pots and pans, dishes, glasses and utensils for us to use for meals eaten in, we appreciated ! Great also to have microwave and toaster, free access to washer and especially to Internet WIFI! The internet access was good and a big deal.
We enjoyed preparing breakfast meals in the kitchen in the morning before heading. During our stay the weather was not particularly hot, so AC worked well and we could sleep comfy.
It was so nice to have a "home base", rather than a stuffy hotel room. The first step in the home, we felt very welcomed and comfortable right away. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this property to friends and family!
Thanks again, Sara and family!
Dear Caroline, glad to know that you fully enjoyed your stay at our apartment! Thank you so much for your wonderful words, we do hope to accommodate you again! All the very best, Isabella & Sara
There are lots of pros to this apartment and a few cons. Pro 1: The apartment has a great location. The apartment is right on the bus line which can take you anywhere in the city within a short time. Bus ten, which runs frequently, will take you to the train station in 10 minutes, to the Scrovegni Chapel in 8 minutes, and via a change to Bus 3, will take you to the Basilica within 20. Pro 2: The apartment is in a safe location. Pro 3: Although the meat and food are better at the market, if you don’t have a car, you won’t want to have to hoof it all the way back. Happily, practically underneath the apartment, there is a small grocery store where you can buy whatever you need to survive. Also down the street about a half a block is Guion’s Market, a sort of low grade Wal-mart where you can pick up cards or make up or something else you forgot at a reasonable price. Pro 3: The apartment is spacious for a European rental. Pro 4: The apartment is very clean. Pro 5: The people who own the apartment are very friendly and respond quickly to emails. Pro 6: The apartment kitchen is reasonably stocked. I contributed a pancake turner which was needed. :) Pro 7: The lighting in the bathroom is very good. It is also very good in most of the apartment. Pro 8: The heating works well. But you can’t control it. It did not go on until the temperature dropped to 45. That was fine with us as it did not feel cold in the apartment up to that point. Pro 9: There was excellent water pressure in both the shower and the toilet. And plenty of hot water. Pro 10: There is a (tiny) elevator. Pro 11: The wi-fi works very well. Now we get to the cons, and while they are not deal breakers, they are significant. And at least two of them can be very easily remedied. Con 1: The pillows are just dreadful. They are like hard hunks of matted something. Con 2: The lighting in the master bedroom is unbelievably poor. The lamps are more like night lights. Think 20 watt bulb. Con 3: It is also unfortunate that there is not a single place you can sit that is comfortable. The small sofa, suitable for no more than 2 people, is very hard. The main table chairs are hard as a rock. The two chairs in the kitchen are wicker and have thin cushions and at least have some give. All the same, the apartment has much to recommend it.
Attentive and caring hosts, spotless, safe and very convenient
My adult daughter and I have been using VRBO for years when we travel to Europe. One of my main criteria is that the property is Owner Operated. This often makes for a great personal experience. But Isabella and her 2 daughters, Sara and Eliza, have taken this whole concept to a higher level. They simply do everything they can to ensure that you have a happy and worry free stay. You could not ask for better hosts. We would happily return .
The apartment is quiet, nicely furnished, spotless and well maintained. Everything that you need is in the apartment and working properly. The washer was a great help and we were able to do 3 loads of laundry and dry them on a big rack on the enclosed patio.
The #10 bus is just across the street and you can buy bus tickets at the tobacco shop on the little street just behind Corso Milano. This was an easy and fast way to get to the train station to visit Verona, Vicenza and Venice. The city center is close by. We could walk there in 15 minutes. Padova is also a lovely city to visit. Namely, St Anthony's Basilica and the Scrovegni Chapel for the Giotto frescos. This does require a reservation. Another fun thing to do in Padova is to visit the Café Pedrocchi in the city center for a drink or breakfast. Beautiful Neoclassical building and a fun experience.
This is a great location to explore the Veneto. It was so nice to return to Padova and our Al Corso haven after an exhausting day of sightseeing. Thank you so much, Isabella, Sara and Eliza.
Dearest, what a joy we have had while reading your enthusiastic words. Thank you so much for so great understanding and sympathy to us. You were so nice and good people, WE could not ask for better guests! Again, thanks to the all of you!
A big hug, Isabella & Co.
Wonderful home away from home
We spent a week in the Al Corso apartment and could not have asked for a better place to stay. The location was perfect for us -- slightly away from the bustle of the central area, but close enough to walk there in 10 minutes. A bus stop across the street made it easy to get to other parts of Padua or to the train station when we wanted to make day trips to Verona and Vicenza. The apartment was stocked with everything we needed to make our own breakfasts and dinners, much of which we got from the Saturday market. Wifi worked well and we could even do our own laundry in the apartment, a big plus after a week away. We would stay here again anytime. Isabella has done a wonderful job in setting this place up to feel like home.
Great Location for all of the Veneto Area!
What a great location to explore Venice, the Veneto Plain, and Lake Garda! We, a family of four, stayed in this apartment mainly for the secured "free" parking. We were given a parking garage for the car, which we left for our days in Venice and Padua. Other than that we took day trips to The Dolomites, Lake Garda, Soave, Asiago and Verona. Our week was full of travel, but it was nice to come back to the apartment to relax. We had all our breakfasts and most of our dinners in the apartment. The kitchen is fully functional, including a dishwasher and washing machine. We did laundry twice with no problems. The kids had their own room and we had ours. For someone who has had back surgery, the beds were firm, which I need. The apartment is larger than most for a city rental, and we all kind of had our own space. We did use the air conditioning a bit since there was a heat wave, but we ended up opening the windows for a cross breeze instead. (Note: Using the air conditioner is an extra cost.) Internet is easy to use. Communication was beyond excellent with Isabella & Sara. So much so, that we were able to have our forgotten clothes sent to us overnight by Sara to our next place. As for our espresso and cappuccinos, there is a restaurant right downstairs (as well as a grocery store). As I said, a perfect location to easily drive into town and out of town, yet close enough to walk further into center city. Thank you, Sara and Isabella! I would highly recommend this apartment!!!
City dwelling with "homey" feel
My fiance' and I stayed here from Sept. 23-27, 2013. It was very centrally located within walking distance of many sights. There was a bus stop right outside the door and also a grocery store just a couple of doors down along with many restaurants. The apartment was very spacious and comfortable. Then there is Isabella who made sure we knew where everything in the city was located and about everything in the apartment which was very well stocked. This was by far our favorite place to rest our heads on our trip.
The apartment is right in the city center of Padova. You can easly reach the pedestrian area and all the best monuments in 10 minutes on foot! Car is not necessary.
