The best

  • 5 of 5

I hesitate to give this condo the review it deserves because my family of five loved it so much that we're planning to return for years to come. haha.

The VRBO pictures were very nice, but the place looked even better in person. There were really high ceilings, lots of windows, plenty of space and everything was nicely decorated. The kitchen was beyond fully stocked, with even more to offer than our kitchen at home. We ate most of our meals at the condo and found everything we needed from pots and pans to a blender and a very nice coffee maker. There was also a wide variety of spices and several ingredients that a person may forget to buy at the grocery store like flour, sugar, oil and baking powder.

The location of the condo also worked out very well for us. It was basically ski out the front door to the kicking horse lift, and a short walk across the parking lot when the day was through. There was a nice hot tub nearby and a larger hot tub and pool available at the base of the mountain. There was a shopping center about a mile down the mountain that included a grocery store, a Starbucks, a McDonalds and a Subway.

Granby Ranch Ski Resort was the perfect place for our family. With small children it was the perfect size, and all the ski runs fed to the same spot at the base of the mountain. Nobody got lost or separated. If I wanted more of a challenge I would drive the 20 miles to Winter Park Ski Resort. The highway between Granby and Winter Park was always well maintained even after heavy snow events.

The owner was one of the greatest I've ever dealt with. I'm always a little nervous to book a condo, so I usually try to contact the owner by phone. By the time I got off the phone this time, I felt like I'd made a new friend. We definitely plan to stay here in the future and give it our highest recommendations.

Great ski accommodations

  • 5 of 5

We came to Granby for an after Christmas ski vacation. Our condo was everything as expected and more. The condo was very clean and homey. Everything we needed was provided. The cabinets and fridge were even stocked with small odds and ends you might need. The condo was exactly where it said and the lift was just a short walking distance from the front door. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you for sharing your place! Unfortunately we were here during the tragic accident so skiing was a bit limited but we made the best if it. Thoughts and prayers to those affected by the accident.

Owner's Response: Thank you for choosing to stay with us. We make every effort to make our guest feel at home and we are happy to hear that we met your expectations. I am sorry, as we all are, that you were there and affected by the incident on Dec 29th. It is never easy to move beyond such a tragedy and the question of "why?" will forever remain. Our thoughts and prayers are not only for the family and friends of the victims, but for the first responders, the staff, those who witnessed the accident and everyone else who was at the resort at the time and affected by the consequences of a most unthinkable event.. We look forward to having you as our guests in the future and thank you for your review. Best Regards, Chris Benson

Wonderful vacation condo with loft

  • 5 of 5

Great condo with all the amenities. Clean, well kept, and loved how it is decorated. Beds were comfortable and condo was quite spacious. The owners were really nice to work with. We stayed a month so really enjoyed having a washing and dryer in unit. It was chilly every morning so enjoyed turning on gas fireplace and enjoyed the beautiful view from deck. Our grandchildren really enjoyed the loft and having their own space. It was in a great location for us. Hope to stay again when we visit the Granby area. Thanks so much.

Great Condo

  • 5 of 5

We rented this condo multiple weekends throughout the winter. We are a family of four, and comfortably fit in this condo. It is quiet there, and we never had any issues with noise at night from neighbors. It was super-awesome to have back-up toiletries in the bathrooms in case we forgot something. The condo was warm, inviting and clean. The owners were easy to work with. We loved being able to walk the short walk (and I mean short) over to the lift and be on our way. Having young kids it is always such a hassle to manhandle all the gear to the lodge, etc. The location of this condo made it so we never had a hassle. After skiing in the morning we'd go back to the condo for lunch. Then some would go back out and some would stay in. The hot tub is also a very short walk and it was clean and nice. You can also snow shoe and cross country ski in Granby Ranch. On one occasion we ate at the GR Grill and the food was tasty and service good. We also had apres ski drinks in the bar there, and that was a lot of fun. Some weekends, we would go ski at Winter Park and that drive was not bad at all, about 25-30 min.

We liked this condo so much we looked at an open house! But, since we didn't purchase anything yet I am hoping to rent this very same condo over the summer.

great ski condo

  • 5 of 5

very spacious and comfortable family condo on ski slope. Owners were very helpful and accommodating. The little extras make this a great place to rent like the spices and extras in the kitchen, laundry supplies to the shampoos, lotions and sunscreen in the bathroom. Access to the club hall with the heated pool and game room. Convenient to ski slopes makes this a great place to stay with the back porch overlooking the chairlift. We were able to stop in for lunch then back to the ski slopes. Would love to come back and stay next year.

Epic Colorado Vacation!

  • 5 of 5

My family of four stayed in the condo for 5 weeks. The hosts ensured the condo was well stocked with towels, linens, pillows, toiletries, paper towels, napkins, spices, cooking utensils, etc. The beds were comfortable, and we enjoyed raising the windows at night to let the crisp mountain air into the condo during the night. We absolutely loved sitting on the condo’s balcony, cooking out, sitting in the hot tub, looking out over the valley and peaks all around. We jogged in the trails around the community, specifically the Fraser-Granby trail which runs right through the resort.

Since I was “working from home” during our stay, I was initially concerned about having reliable internet service at all times. Turns out it was completely reliable and worked perfectly the whole time. One thing to note is that my AT&T iPhone did not have great reception in the Granby area, but Verizon works well in the area. Overall, the hosts were very attentive and even went the extra mile coordinating with the management company to help us get some packages delivered during our stay.

Our two kids absolutely LOVED attending day camp at the Snow Mountain Ranch YMCA during our stay. It was only about 10-15 minute ride to drop off the kids in the morning and pick them up in the afternoon, so I was able to work from the condo full time and still easily manage to run out to pick up the kids from camp. See the camp’s website for a full list of activities, but they loved making new friends, doing arts & crafts, going on hikes, horseback riding and canoeing.

Here’s a hit list of other things we did in the area:

Rode the alpine slide at Winter Park

Became regulars at Azteca Mexican Restaurant in Granby

Tried Wagyu beef for the first time at the Ranch House Restaurant at Devil’s Thumb Ranch Went for a dip at the Hot Sulphur Springs Resort & Spa

Enjoyed a short hike to Adams Falls in Grand Lake, was a great short hike for small kids

Drove up Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park

Played a round of golf at Granby Ranch

Went on a family horseback ride at YMCA

Overall, this would our best vacation / temporary relocation ever. The monthly rate was very reasonable and this condo was a great value given the community perks and everything we were able to do nearby. By the end of our stay, we were hooked on Granby and talking to the local real estate agent about getting a property of our own. Just writing this makes me want to go back!

Owner's Response: Nolan, Thank you so much for the informative review of your stay in the Granby area . I am sure that prospective guests will appreciate knowing a few of the possible activities in the area during the summer months, particularly those available through the YMCA at Snow Mountain Ranch. It was our pleasure to have you as our guests and hopefully you will have an opportunity to return.
