About Gene Pfeiffer

Our extended family with 6 grandchildren has enjoyed the cabin for years and we are now sharing the enjoyment with others.

Gene Pfeiffer purchased this cabin in 1966

Why Gene Pfeiffer chose Yosemite Area

My parents first came to this area in 1926 and now our six Grandchildren are enjoying the experience of a cabin in the woods.

What makes this cabin unique

Our family has enjoyed swimming, fishing, mountain and road biking, and relaxing around the firepit in the evening. We also like to drive to Tuolumne Meadows in Yosemite National Park for hiking in the high sierras.

Amazing family time experience

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful cabin and bunkhouse. The family enjoyed the location being so close to Yosemite. I and other family members enjoyed the cabin, bunkhouse and other amenities. We had plenty of room for our reunion. The children loved the swing set and rope swing. The bocce ball game area was great fun. The advice, communication the owner provided was wonderful. Anyone that discovers this property will love their experience.

Amazing!! Wish we had a few more days just to stay at the cabin!

  • 5 of 5

We rented for an extended family vacation of 9 adults and 8 children (ranging in age from 8 months to 12 years old) and rented cabin and bunk house. While our main reason was to visit Yosemite, we ended up rearranging some of our trip to be at the cabin more. So peaceful and so much for the kids to do. They never once got on their i pads, and never did we hear they were bored! Very close to the west entrance, compared to other rentals, and much easier access to go up to Tuolumne Meadows or Hetch Hetchy since they are on this road on the way down to the valley. The house has everything you need (including toys and books for the kids), and while we stopped in Oakdale for groceries there is a gas station/small market a few miles away going towards the entrance as well as Groveland if you want to drive back that direction. We will be back!! I wish we had stayed a little longer.

A Family Friendly Getaway!!

  • 5 of 5

With a large family of 16, ranging in age from 8 mos. to 80 yrs old, this rental was the PERFECT place for us! We rented the main house, along with the bunkhouse, and everybody had a comfortable place to sleep. The kids loved the bunk bed area, where they used blankets to make it their very own fort and hide-away! We wanted a place to cook together, explore together, relax together and all be under one roof. The large refrigerator, nice cooktop range, large oven and plenty of counter space made preparing meals together a joy. The counter bar area along with the large country family style table/chairs made eating together easy. The main house and bunkhouse, along with the large bathrooms, were clean, with plenty of clean linens, blankets and towels. Instructions for arriving and departing were clear and easy to follow....nothing was left out. The owner was wonderful to work with...helpful and always accessible via quick email turnarounds. We could not have been happier with the accommodations or location. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer to enjoy all the amenities available outside the cabin...large fire pit, bbq's, etc. We will definitely be back!!

P.S. The prior reviews mentioned "lots of fun games"...unfortunately, our family could not find the stash of games, but we had brought a few of our own. Please reveal the hiding place for the games :)

awesome place to stay

  • 5 of 5

We rented this cabin and the location is awesome. The cabin was very clean and with lot of games(which we discovered towards the end of stay ..sigh!). There are enough beds and the bunk beds were really nice. The owners are really helpful and take care of things. Like the trees were cut down by PG&E and the swings were taken off. On request the owners personally went and installed them. The kids had awesome time playing in cabin. They felt the cabin was the best part of the trip. Yay! Waiting to book yet another trip in the cabin...

Awesome place for a family vacation

  • 5 of 5

We rented both the main house and bunk house. Everyone enjoyed hanging out by the fire at night or sitting on the deck in the morning. There are plenty of activities around to keep busy and also plenty of areas to relax. We had so much fun, we weren't ready to leave at the end of our family vacation. The owner was very responsive and easy to work with. We left a few items behind and they quickly mailed it back to us.

Great Family Reunion homebase

  • 5 of 5

Our extended family filled the house and the bunkhouse while exploring Yosemite. It was perfect for our group ranging in age from 1.5 to 71 years offering entertainment for all! Loved the grill, fire pit, bocce court and big kitchen. Working with the owner was a joy. Hope to return in the future.
