Peter & Margaret Pigeon are Canadians who are retired teachers from Ontario. We purchased our first property in France in 1990, in the Gard in Cavillargues. We purchased this property, in Cairanne , in 2005 and have been renovating for the last 5 years. We have been living in France, full time, for the last 7 1/2 years. Peter does all the designing and renovating himself.
Owner purchased this House in 2005

a lovely home from home in a fabulous place
This property is part of the "Vielle village" of Cairanne located on a hilltop with terrific views across the local area to the south and west. The area is "wine central" with many domains both in the village and very close by. The property has everything you could wish for (other than a pool which we were not bothered about) and is spacious and easy to live in. There is a modern stylish kitchen and all bedrooms have en suite facilities and fans. It will comfortably accommodate 6 people. 20 mins from the A7 autoroute du soleil and less than an hour to Avignon. Mont Ventoux can be reached in 30 mins or so and Vaison La Romaine with its great buzz and great restaurants is 15 mins away. We spent a lovely two weeks chilling out here and sorting out some of the local wine. Make sure you do the market at Vaison on Tuesdays. You will love this place.
Incredible home, everything you would want is right here
Went to Provence in September 2014 and rented this lovely home. It was everything and more than the description and pictures had shown. The hosts were very accommodating with information of the areas activates and amenities. Highly recommend this lovely home.
What a wonderful place!
We found this house to be perfect for our stay in Provence. The house is very nice and the views are outstanding. The Pigeons were so helpful with all the information that they supplied about the house and the area. The house is beautiful and so comfortable There are great restaurants within an easy drive and the local wine is outstanding. We were two couples and it fit our needs completely. We look forward to returning there in the future.
Beautiful home in picturesque community
Our stay in Provence was especially memorable as a result of this wonderful home we had the privilege to stay at. As two couples that love to cook we were so pleased to have such a well equipped kitchen available to us. Thanks to the detailed information prepared by the owners we were able to search out many of the local markets and wineries that were recommended as "must do's". The house had several outdoor seating areas that were great spots for dining, cocktail hour or just relaxing in the sunshine. We especially enjoyed the relaxed pace of Cairanne and region during late May. We loved our time here and look forward to a return visit. Thank you Margaret & Peter for opening your home to us.
My wife and I just returned from a two week vacation in Cairanne with our daughter. We loved everything about Margaret and Peter Pigeon's home and its central location to wineries, restaurants and sightseeing. We went to the Luberon, the beach at the Mediterranean and visited many local villages and markets.
The Pigeon's supplied us with so much useful information before we arrived allowing us to plan our trip in advance. They were very responsive from our first contact with them to our final good bye.
It was hard to say au revoir to the lavender, sunflowers and glorious food and wine, but we hope to return to the most magnificent part of France.
This spot will be hard to beat.
The villa looks like a house from an architectural magazine and the setting is ideal. It more than lived up to our expectations. Photos cannot capture the beauty of the sunsets. The villa was well appointed and had everything we needed and more. Cairanne and the older village is very quiet and private. We found a local flying club about 30 minutes away and arranged for a flight with a very personable, experienced pilot who spoke english. I recommend this activity if you enjoy small planes. WIthout question I would not hesitate to recommend this property especially for the history, wines and scenery. We made good use of the suggestions left by the owner regarding shopping and places to see.
Our area has many cultural activities available." Music in the Vines"- Classical music concerts are presented May until September at varying locations in and around Cairanne.
