Whether it’s a family vacation, girl’s weekend, men’s trip or business trip, a luxurious vacation filled with memories awaits at Sandestin® Resort. Our cottage is located in Laurel Grove, one of the Resort's newest neighborhoods that features privacy, security and all the amenities.
Just a hundred yards from our cottage is the Laurel Grove Clubhouse which includes a private fitness center, full size heated pool, lounge chairs and hot-tub. The clubhouse has its own mini-kitchen, grill, ice maker, and patio area. The neighborhood also features several ponds stocked with bass for guests to fish, catch and release. Our family has been sharing memories at the Resort for the past 9 years. Our goal is to provide all the details to make your time away easy, fun and relaxing.
With the largest four bedroom floor plan in Laurel Grove, our 2100 square foot home can comfortably accommodate 10-12 guests. The entrance opens to a large kitchen, living and dining room, which is surrounded by natural light. Lots of seating and a large television make this the perfect gathering space. The living and dining rooms open to a large porch with views of the golf course. The back and front porches are ideal spots to enjoy breakfast in the morning or watch the kids play in the private cul-de-sac. If cooking is in your vacation plans, stainless steel appliances, granite countertops and a fully stocked kitchen await. Otherwise, you are just minutes from the Baytowne Wharf, which offers a number of great restaurants. The master bedroom is located on the first floor, and is luxuriously appointed with designer linens and features a spacious master bathroom with shower and soaking tub. Our bedrooms are each beautifully decorated and feature duvet covers and feather pillows. Upstairs a spacious bedroom has two twin beds and two twin roll-aways in the huge closet/play area. Down the hallway, another bedroom features a queen bed and a large closet. A full bathroom with tub and shower can easily accommodates these guests. We are a family of five from Memphis, Tennessee who have been vacationing at Sandestin for years. We wanted a place to relax with the kids, but one of the best things about our place is that it's big enough to invite others to join you for a vacation.
We love to eat! Place we MUST visit: Old Bay Steamer in Fort Walton, trust us it's worth the drive, romantic dinner Vintij (across from Outlet Malls), eat outside at Laredo's Mexican and let the kids play in the fountain and Tommy Bahmamas (they are super kid friendly if you go just a bit early).
With three kids ages, 7, 10 and 11, we were looking for the perfect spot that allowed everyone to find something to do and Sandestin is it! The soft white sandy beaches are amazing. When the kids were babies, we would buy an inflatable pool, put in fresh water and stay under an umbrella. Now we are building sand castles and riding the waves!
We love the pool and hot tub at Laurel Grove. My pre-teen son loves Baytowne’s zip-lines and ropes course. My daughter is a hiker and biker and having our home in a cul-de-sac is perfect. We have three kid bikes for your use! Trips to Jolee Island for crab hunting is a favorite. My youngest loves to fish (including for golf balls) in all the ponds surrounding the house. I like to curl up on the back or front porches to read a book or go shopping at outlet malls. My husband loves the golf and deep sea fishing, so ask us for our recommendations!
There is truly something for everyone. We stay as a family, as a couple and do men's and women's trips without the kids! Here are some of our “insider” tips:
Dance it up at the Village Door in Baytowne
Book a spa appointment at the Hilton and you can use the facility for the day. That gives you access to the workout room, then change into your robe and get your treatment. But bring a swimsuit and hang out in the huge whirlpool or sauna, order a very inexpensive spa lunch and read magazines and then finish it off with an amazing shower. You don't need to bring at thing, from shampoo to shaving cream to hairspray and blow dryers, they have it all!
Family Trip with Kids
• After you check in, be sure to go to the website or front desk (beside Watertowers on 98) and get an owner’s activity brochure. During the summer there are literally dozens of activities for the kids that are FREE!
• Instead of turning into Jolee Island, take the hiking path on the opposite side of the road and a treehouse awaits!
• A perfect spot to watch fireworks is on the golf green beside the main gate circle entrance. Bring a blanket and flashlight and let the kids run around.
• Make your tee times before 10 a.m. if you want to enjoy pool or beach time after golf.
• Go to Destin Docks the night before (or call) to get a reservation for deep sea fishing. You can choose 1/2 day or all day. Bring a cooler and take your catch home.
• Cooper Grill or Destin Chops are the place for a good steak
• Take the tram into Baytowne and you have a ride home no DD needed
I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.
I was more than happy with the location.
The vacation rental was very clean.
The property manager was more than helpful.
Overall, I recommend this vacation rental.
We stayed here with my family of 5, my sisters family of 4, and my parents. There was more than enough room (with extra large closets and beds in the closets!)
The golf cart was a great addition making it super easy to get around the resort. The pool is close enough to walk and the work out room was sufficient for vacation.
The view of the golf course was great on the back porch. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the kids have all asked if we can stay there again next time we go:)
Our time at 1286 Laurel Way was absolutely wonderful! We had a large group to enjoy the charming cottage which slept everyone comfortably. We loved the location of the property and being able to grill out and relax on the back porch was like being at home. It was exceptionaly clean and very well stocked for our group. I would highly recommend this lovely unit to anyone for a Sandestin vacation.

GOLF CAR WAS NOT CLEAN TRASH LEFT IN CAR............BIKES WERE RUSTED AND NOT ABLE TO BE USED. THEY
WERE IN A MANGLED HEAP IN THE FRONT YARD. CARPETS AND FLOORS NOT CLEAN. KITCHEN UTENSILS INADEQUAT. LOTS OF JUNK LEFT IN HOUSE. DECOR NEEDS TO BE MAINTAINED. ie CURTAINS AND BEDDING.
Stayed the weekend of September 14t-18th. What a great place to unwind and relax for a long weekend. Wish we could have stayed longer with so much to do in the Sandestin area. The golf cart was great, we parked the car when we got to the house and didn't have to drive again till we left togo home. The golf cart was perfect for the beach, going shopping, dinner, and cruising aournd Sandestin. House was very clean and comfy. Could have stayed another week. Love the quiet neighboorhood of Laurel Grove. Can't wait to go back!
We had a guys weekend last week and this house was perfect! Being right on the golf course, it made evening cocktails very enjoyable. The golf cart made it very convenient to get anywhere in San Destin. The car never left the driveway.
We will definitely come back next year!!
My family had a wonderful time staying in this beautiful, large home. There were plenty of rooms/beds for all. Even though Tropical Storm Lee came through, we still had fun at the neighborhood pool. This was a great place for many people to stay comfortably. The only thing I would suggest is a newer mattress for the master bedroom downstairs.
