About Noa and Raphael
We are Raphael and Noa, brother and sister owners of the house. Our father was an artist and he built it for us in the early 70s, inspired by his trip to Japan. We spent our summers here watching the walls go up and feeding the goats. We now both work in service of community as a psychotherapist and an education coordinator for a nonprofit.
Noa and Raphael purchased this House in 1973
Why Noa and Raphael chose Woodstock
The house is unique in every way. We've kept the feel of the original house but have made important useful updates. Many people say that the house is one of the most truly 'Woodstocky' houses around. Give your nervous system a well deserved break and chill out in the big house.
What makes this House unique
It's secluded but not too much so. At night you go to sleep to the sound of the private stream. It's a real getaway. Please be aware that most mobile phones do not receive coverage at the house. Many people see this as a good thing. Our book collection is also an excellent feature.
Sports & Adventure Activities
Such a wonderful relaxing time we had. Enjoyed afternoons reading on the deck.
Fun house. Kids loved it. We saw deer everyday. Because of cool weather we enjoyed the fire one night. The sound of the stream renewed my spirit. Enjoyed our stay very much.
Seems like you tapped into some of the most wonderful aspects of this house. We're thrilled that you enjoyed it all! Hope to see you again.
Great family get away!
Each year two sisters take 94 year old dad away for a spring trip. This year was the Hudson Valley outside of Woodstock. We spent four nights in this lovely and peaceful home in the woods next to a burbling stream. Dad was able to fish in the stream as well as at Yankeetown pond down the road and golfed at Woodstock golf club while sisters enjoyed exploring Woodstock. A great central location to visit many of sites of the Hudson Valley. Noa was a terrific host. Thanks, Noa, for sharing your lovely home with us!
Beautiful, distinctive wood house in a peaceful setting.
4 of us had a great time relaxing in this very cool and special house. There are lovely views of woods and a brook and the house is well equipped for cooking, sleeping, and hanging out. Renting and logistics were easy and pleasant. We would stay here again!
You couldn't ask for a more "Woodstock" experience. Everything is immaculate and the house has an amazing natural wood smell. Walks in the woods. Nights by the fire. Really amazing.
We rented "The Big House" as a place for our family to meet up and have a fall weekend out of the city. The house was absolutely perfect! I cannot say enough good things about our stay. The house was clean, warm and had everything we needed. We had the perfect fall weekend away. Thanks Raphael and Noa!
Stunning home, peaceful location
We stayed in this house to celebrate my parents' 40th anniversary. By the pics I assumed it would be pretty cool, but it was above and beyond what I had imagined. It's a gorgeous, spacious, peaceful, creative space. We had a whole Catskills adventure itinerary planned for the weekend, but honestly we could have stayed in and been just as happy. The house is clean, the beds are comfortable, and the view outside is beautiful from any window or deck spot. It's the kind of place that makes you want an unending morning and a bottomless cup of coffee. Noa is a lovely host with excellent, entertaining advice about the surrounding area.
We will definitely look to rent this house again in the future!
Thank you, Kate. You and your group were the perfect guests. It always shows when someone loves the house as much as we do. Please come back some time! - Noa
