About The Owner

This is a family business. The building was showcased in New Orleans magazine. Built in 1846, it was never cut up into smaller apartments. We take great pride in the fact that it is the gateway to Frenchmen Street. The smallest apartment is 1800 sq. ft. and the largest is 4300 sq. ft. In total, there are 6 apartments. We ask that you respect our property and please respect the full time tenants. Also, no large parties allowed.

The Owner purchased this apartment in 1995

Why The Owner chose Faubourg Marigny

I didn't choose, it was a family choice. Basically I love the place. Frenchmen Street is so unique. The coolest thing is I have 2 kids but I feel so secure. We take them to Spotted Cat! Other people may not like the vibe, but it is central to all things JAZZ. Believe it or not, even though it is loud in the evenings, I think it's a great spot for families as the kids can sleep and you can enjoy sitting on the balcony sipping a cocktail. It's a great location and central to everything. The cable car to uptown is a block away, The Mint is across the street, The French Market is a block away.

What makes this apartment unique

Believe it or not, New Orleans is family friendly! We found the aquarium, the Audobon Zoo and Children's Museum. The best part is being right in the action!Frenchmen Street is the place to be,If you want to listen to jazz. Spotted Cat is a block away, Maison is next door, Check Point Charlies is next door. Frenchmen street is not known for being a quiet area, so if you are looking for peace and quiet, you may find uptown more suitable.

Quiet courtyard in back that is shared by all the tenants, but it seems like no one ever uses it! This is a wonderful, traditional place to stay while in New Orleans. Feel like a local on the most coveted street to stay.

Great place in a prime spot!

  • 5 of 5

We stay here during Amaris Gras and loved it. Walking distance to everything and had a very large balcony to overlook the crowds and parties in the street. The place was equipped with everything we needed. Rooms were very spacious. Would stay here again and will recommend to others!

Fantastic location! The balcony was the perfect place to view the neighborhood.

The property was comfortable and well stocked. The pull out sofa wasn’t the most comfortable however the beds are high quality with nice bedding. As others have noted, you can hear music from downstairs until the early morning hours so bring earplugs. Also, the water pressure in the bigger bathroom was noticeably low but not unacceptable. I loved not worrying about transportation! We walked everywhere and there are wonderful restaurants right down the street. I would definitely rent this apartment again.

Fantastic place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

Four of us stayed here during our visit from 1/25/2018 to 1/29/2018 and all four of us loved it!

We arrived early on Thursday and, with a quick phone call, Samantha was very accommodating and let us check in earlier than the 3PM Check In. When we arrived it was clean and stocked with linens, toilet paper, and paper towels. We had to go to the local market only for what we wanted in food and drink.

The place is MASSIVE! When you go out to eat you will dine at restaurants and bars that are smaller than this residence. The main bedroom is HUGE and the 2nd bedroom, while smaller, still has tons of room. Both bedrooms have their own bathrooms - the main has a bathtub with jets (it works) but the 2nd bedroom has a shower with much better water pressure.

You will need earplugs or noise cancelling headphones if you are a light to normal sleeper. The bar below had live music every night until 2-3AM. It is loud and you can definitely hear the club from both bedrooms. You can also hear the street noise from the main bedroom and the hallway noise from the second bedroom. In no way are we detracting from our review for this place since there are plenty of reviews stating this and we came prepared.

The residence is on the second floor and has a gigantic balcony that wraps around the corner slightly. To give you a sense of the size - you could literally fit 50 people on this balcony without touching one another. It has fantastic views of the street and it was awesome watching the "krewe du vieux" parade from during our visit.

The location is absolutely wonderful! It's within walking distance of everything we wanted to see and there's stores to buy necessities close by.

One place to note - Mona's Cafe - is literally 25 feet down Frenchmen from the front door. It has the BEST Beef Shawarma and homemade hummus I've ever had! They have take out and the service is quick and top notch. If you like middle eastern food then don't miss out on this gem!

If we ever go back to New Orleans every one of us would stay here again.

Good location, walking distance from everything.

  • 5 of 5

Very comfortable. Felt at home. Clean. Didn't use many dishes but it had a choice. The lighting through out the entire place was dim, so at night it was hard to see.

Liked the balcony, fun to sit and watch the party go on below.

Good location!

We liked Vaso (bar downstairs)the music is loud and goes late, but if you love live music, this is perfect location! So close to walk everywhere, lots of restaurants close by.

We would stay there again.

The Balcony!

  • 5 of 5

Great location and beautiful on the inside as well. Being able to hang out on the HUGE balcony over Frenchmen St. was amazing morning, noon, and night. It was everything we had hoped it would be. Bring a fan with you if you are a warm sleeper, with the large windows it does seem to be hard to keep cool. Samantha was wonderful and answered all of my silly questions upon arrival. Great spot, we will hopefully be able to come back and stay next year for the Fried Chicken Festival!
