A. The kitchen is stocked with ample cookware and dinnerware as well as more than 30 spices. There is a microwave, gas stove and oven, and dishwasher.

Q. Can fish be caught from the dock?

A. We frequently catch fish from the dock (see pictures). There is also a sturdy canoe that can be used. We would be happy to provide tips on bait and tackle that has worked. No guarantees! Search Kerr Lake fishing info for a great forum for tips!

Q. Can you wade into water from shore?

You can wade into the water and swim from shore. You can also jump and swim from the dock using the swim ladder.

Perfect for the entire family, an awesome lake house

  • 5 of 5

This makes our 3rd year in a row for staying in this house at Kerr Lake. It works perfectly for my family with all its roominess and having the dock for the boat. Yes, there is a water view from the porch, which is also huge and is a wonderful space. There are plenty of water toys and I especially enjoyed the stand-up paddle board this year. No problems, no worries, a nice, quiet get away.

As usual, the Larson House is Awesome! It became Home for two weeks this year, and it was GREAT!

  • 5 of 5

The Larsons have added some new features that made our stay exceptional. The new dish washer, washer and dryer, ceiling fans and headboards in the master and guest bedrooms made excellent additions. We love our Home Away from Home and enjoyed time on the dock, eating and more eating, playing Monopoly and just plain old relaxing. Also great-when we had questions about the house, Cinnamon was incredibly responsive, and answered every one of them promptly. Can't wait till next year!

Perfect Lake Retreat

  • 5 of 5

I visited with my family at the end of August and had the best time. The house was clean, well-kept, and very cozy. I was really able to relax and unwind from the stress of work, etc. We did not want to leave! The walk to the dock was a little far but certainly worth it. The private dock in the private cove was great. We do have a boat, but even if you don't have one - the dock is still great for sunbathing, fishing, and swimming. Great view of the sunset as well. I only stayed 5 days while my mother stayed the entire week but I plan to visit again soon if I can - one of the best vacations I've had in a while!

Tucked away from the rest of the world

  • 5 of 5

If you want to feel like you have gotten away from it all, stay at this house. It is easy to get to by land or water and once you get there, you will never want to leave. The house is fully equipped for playing or relaxing, for both kids and adults. An added bonus for me was being able to bring my little dog. There is plenty of privacy and she enjoyed the freedom to walk off-leash with me back and forth to the lake.

The dock is roomy and we got spoiled being able to have the boat always in the water and ready to go. My son caught catfish like crazy and you would have thought he had won the lottery. We ate them and they were scrumptious. Water at the end of the dock is great for swimming or you could walk in from the shore, wearing water shoes as it is a bit rocky. Canoe, kayak available and we enjoyed those too. If you have kids who need lots of activities, you've got it here.

I really enjoyed the front porch too. Really big and lake view is nice; the best thing is how quiet it is....what more do you need? Kitchen and dining area is set up for lots or a few folks and has all the things you might need, plus some. We liked the house design since we could put the baby in the middle room and she was away from our noise. The people staying in the back bedroom just walked around to the back door entrance and that way, baby was not disturbed. We called her room the "sleep chamber." All I know is, it worked!!!!

Great house; beautiful lake, cute little town of Clarksville and peace and quiet.

Good experience because the family was there.

  • 3 of 5

First the good:

Very nice house; well equipped kitchen, laundry; private comfortable sleeping for 3 couples and a bedroom with 4 twin beds for multi-use; private dock on lake; view of lake; private setting; shady to keep heat down; small gated community; refrigerator and pantry were well stocked when we arrived (I guess travelers take some and leave some as we did); nice deck on three sides; recreation equipment (trampoline, swing, zip line, canoe, kayak; small sail boat); comfortable furniture; large TV and accessories (we never used); wood burning stove; loft for kids or teenagers to gather. Overall a nice comfortable home away from home.

The bad:

The owners are not the best communicators. In my opinion it took them longer than it should have to respond to inquiries. Also we did not see or hear from them during our stay. In my opinion, the cleaning fee is excessive and wasted. When we arrived the stove was filthy with baked on grease which my wife cleaned; the floors were dusty in places; and there were cobwebs throughout the house. We were required to strip the beds before we left and to remove our trash during our stay (a 40 minute round trip). The house has been somewhat neglected. There were burned out light bulbs; broken lamps; a bedroom door knob did not latch; and the door handle on the microwave was broken off. The layout of the house is a little awkward and reduces privacy. To access one of the bedrooms, one of the bathrooms, and the laundry room you must go through another bedroom. The pictures in the listing are misleading. The canoe and kayak available to us were not those pictured and the view of the lake was very restricted because of distance, trees, and underbrush. The walk to the lake is not short and was difficult if carrying coolers etc. We noticed that all the residents in the community used golf carts to travel from their homes to the lake. The owner of our house had an ATV in the garage. Finally, WiFi is not available. Note: the only reliable cell service in the area is Verizon (which is not the owner's fault). Also, the damage deposit refund which the owner approved quickly goes through VRBO. After two weeks I called VRBO and their rep was uncaring and said it could take 2-4 weeks with no explanation why.

Great lake retreat

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking for a quiet, outdoorsy place on the lake this is the spot. The house was very spacious and fully stocked, but the outdoors was even better. Between the swings, fire pit, trampoline, fishing and boating there is no need to be indoors. They thought of everything. Would love to stay again!
