About Guy De Mangeon
I 'am French, my fiance Patricia is Colombian, both of us live actually in Santa Barbara, CA. the Sister City of Puerto Vallarta. We became members of this organization after buying the house. We have a dual membership. We also belong to the Rotary club of Puerto Vallarta Sur, those non profit organizations are very involved in charitable deeds. We are doing as much of it, as we can, when we are there.
Guy De Mangeon purchased this House in 2009
Why Guy De Mangeon chose Cerro
We bought this house for us, because we love Vallarta and especially this neighborhood, in the heart of downtown and within walking distance to everything.

A Perfect Location for a Family Vacation
We couldn't have asked for a better location for our large family get away to Puerto Vallarta. There were 9 of us in total, and from start to finish it was a fantastic experience. Guy, the owner, was super responsive to all inquiries and we felt completely taken care of. When we arrived we were greeted by Fidel, the property manager, who was very helpful and responded quickly to any and all requests. The house itself is huge, has 4 very large bedrooms, all with comfortable beds, and each bedroom has it's own bathroom and air conditioning. The rest of the house has multiple ceiling and standing fans to keep the air flow going. We were there during a particularly hot period, and while it was fairly warm in the common areas, the bedrooms were cool and comfortable. The kitchen is fully appointed with everything you could possible need, and there is a lovely rooftop terrace with views towards the ocean and Malecon. The main courtyard is very private, with a large table and chairs, plus a dipping pool that was wonderful for cooling off on those hot days. We did have the pool guy, Joel, turn off the pump and filter for the majority of the time we were there, as they filter through a solar heating system and we did not need any heating for the water while we were there. It would be nice on chilly winter evenings though. TV's are in every room with Netflix and US channels available. All of us found the beds very comfortable, and the use of both a washer and dryer for laundry was invaluable as well. Both the maid and the pool/garden guy were friendly and did a fantastic job. The location of the Casa is perfect, 3 almost flat blocks to the Malecon and buses, as well as 10-15 minutes walk south to the Romantic zone. We used Uber extensively and found that an easy way to get around as well. There are many restaurants, pharmacies, Oxxo's and other stores all within walking distance. Guy himself checked in on us a couple of times, despite travelling himself, and we felt thoroughly content staying there. We would 100% stay there again!! Just loved everything about Casa Romance!
Location, Location, Location
The best part of staying in the beautiful Casa Romance Escondido was being in the heart of it all. Two blocks from the center of the Malecon (boardwalk), steps away from Café Des Artistes (rated one of the best restaurants in Mexico), in the middle of participating art galleries for the Art Walk (Wednesday evenings) and right down the hill from the Mirador Cerro De La Cruz lookout where you can enjoy wonderful views - the climb is worth it!
The owner (Guy), Fidel and the housekeeper were all very kind and concerned that all our needs were met. Thank you!
This house is the most wonderful place we have ever stayed!
This is it! It had loads of Mexican charm and was the most well stocked home we have ever stayed in! The beds were comfortable, the upstairs sun deck was fabulously beautiful with all the plants and oh so sunny! The pool was warm and inviting and used quite a lot! So close to the malacon and yet far enough away from the noise at night! The maid and the gardener were also warm and friendly! And Fidel ( the house manager) your pretty great too! The only complaint we had was the furniture in the living room....it looks beautiful but is not comfortable. But don't let that stop you from renting this jem. It was a wonderful holiday. Thank you to Guy and Patricia
We would come here again in a heartbeat.
We had a wonderful stay here with five siblings and our spouses. The Casa is centrally located several short blocks from the Malecon, with resraurants, bank, and all amenities nearby. The Casa itself is spectacular. Four spacious bedrooms with en suites, air conditioning, and king beds. Gorgeous view of the bay from the terrace. Lots of comfortable sitting space for socializing. A hot tub to relax in. There's maid service, and all necessities are supplied. Many green plants add to the decor. All in all, a fabulous stay. Thanks, Guy, for your hospitality.
The Cook family
Amazing Our second time! Will be back again soon
House is lovely but badly in need of repair/updating
The house is really nicely laid out for maximum privacy for groups and families.
My problem with it is the condition. It needs updating, for instance, the living room furniture is unusable. The couch is lumpy with what feels like metal bars and the chairs are the same as to comfort. My largest complaint, however, is the lack of a dishwasher. We are not clean freaks by any means but when a home is rented out frequently and is supplied with silverware, glasses and cups, it needs a sterilizing dishwasher. Also, during our stay, we had a leak in the master bathroom as well as protrusions (something leaking through) in the walls in the bedroom, none of which was repaired. For the price, we felt it should reflect more care. We have visited Puerto Vallarta many times and stayed in a number of VRBO houses so know a little about the market. The housekeeping was fine as was Fidel who was very nice and helpful.
Old town or (viejo Vallarta), historic part of this charming city has kept his cobblestone streets as a reminder of the past. The house is only 2 short blocks from the ocean, the Malecon and 3 blocks from the church of Guadalupe, but yet in the middle of the shopping and entertainment district. The 3rd story has a very large terrace overlooking this picturesque view, makes certainly one of the many charms of this romantic and private property. I would add, that the very large solar heated Jacuzzi/Dipping pool, in the ground floor courtyard. surrounded by an extensive variety of tropical flower and vegetation makes this comfortable and spacious property, the house for your dream vacation.
CASA ROMANCE ESCONDIDO is surrounded by approx 15
Galleries. Every Wednesday during the high season the galleries organize
a late night Art walk open house with wine, music, art and lots of fun.
The cobblestone streets are reminiscent of a small medieval European
village. This very friendly neighborhood has an incredible choice of dining
experiences from the famous 4 Star CAFÉ DES ARTISTES and one of the
top Mexican restaurants SI SENOR. CASA MELISSA is a cozy family
restaurant with great food, margaritas and is very reasonably priced. Up
the street is PIPI’S (the hot spot for American tourists)
Other Activities: kayaking, boating, shopping, parasailing, wildlife viewing, health/beauty spa
