About Annie VerSteeg

I enjoy this area of Mexico. The weather is perfect, it is quiet (most of the time, it is Mexico!)

My dog loves it.

I love to walk the beach, swim in the warm ocean and enjoy the many little restaurants on the beach or in town.

Annie VerSteeg purchased this studio in 2004

Why Annie VerSteeg chose Lo De Marcos

I chose Lo de Marcos because it is easy to get to from Puerto Vallarta airport but far away from all the crowds! It is such a nice little town with lovely local people and enough Snow Birds to make some nice friends. Lots of community services to get involved with if desired!

What makes this studio unique

I never get sick of the views, The light on the mountains changes all day long, it is never the same and never boring. The birds are plentiful and very entertaining.

I love the short walk to the beach and the short walk to town.

There is music in the town square every Wednesday.

Dance Lessons, Yoga, Pilates, and the restaurants have music nights that are so popular reservations are required!

We have some amazing musicians here so, if you play, bring your instrument! There is an open Mic night ever 2nd Monday.

It can be a very busy place.

Car: not necessary

Great boogie-boarding just down the street. The water access is EASY and kid friendly. The point has a sweet little left that goes off pretty frequently. For the die-hard surfers, there is surf all around, here. You will want a car.

The bird watching from the open dining area is VERY entertaining!

There are plenty of yoga classes in town too.

The ocean breeze felt while relaxing on the porch is relaxing and refreshing after a hard day at the beach or a shopping excursion to the 'tianguis'' (markets in every little town). Ours is on Saturdays.

Great hiking groups, bocce ball, volley ball, dancing in the square on Wednesday nights.

You get to chose... relax or go for it!

Really no car needed.

Beautiful Location, Excellent Value

  • 5 of 5

The casita apartment attached to Casa Annie was the perfect couple's getaway and exceeded our expectations. We found the location to be ideal, an easy walk to the beach about 4 blocks straight down the road, and a pleasant stroll through rural pasture into town. Perched on a hillside at the edge of town in a quiet neighborhood, the typical Mexican town noises (roosters, dogs, music) were softened, adding ambiance without being in our face. The casita itself is compact, consisting of a single air-conditioned bedroom, with the kitchen and bath partially open to the outdoors. The bed was the most comfortable we have experienced on our travels. We appreciated the fully functional outdoor kitchen, with two burner gas range with small oven, many quality small appliances, and all the pots and utensils needed to cook at home. As we believe that eating is the most important part of a vacation, we loved the territorial views from the kitchen and patio while preparing and enjoying meals. While you do need to be mindful of jungle critters and keep the outdoor kitchen clean, we encountered surprisingly few bugs, likely due to being elevated so far above ground level. Lo de Marcos has many options for dining out also, although some of the nicer restaurants catering to tourists and expats close during the summer starting around the first week of May (just after our arrival). We arrived at Casa Annie in a car with our dog, and the walled parking area at the bottom of the property were idea for both. Although we never met Annie in person, she was always available by phone and extremely helpful tips and information.

Absolutely Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

Kim and I enjoyed our stay so very much. Annie's was there to welcome welcome us upon arrival and her casita was absolutely beautiful. The open air kitchen was so perfect, everything clean, well equipped and some basic supplies(coffee, yogurt & milk) in the fridge for our arrival. It was an easy walk to the beach and town with lots of alternative areas to explore as well. Annie was the best host ever always available when we needed some info or directions. we only wish we could have stayed longer but the short time we were there we enjoyed every minute. Thank you Annie

A perfect suite, with a well equipped small kitchen open to the morning sunshine, private entrance, a view balcony, and a super comfortable bed with high quality sheets and pillows. The house is up a small hill and has the advantage of fabulous views, a nice breeze and lots of birds. A pleasant walk to the beach, 3 blocks, and a lovely truly Mexican village, with surprisingly good restaurants and grocery shops. Good bus service to surrounding towns for touring and markets. Annie knows how to get around and keeps the operation running smoothly. A great place to stay.

  • 5 of 5

Fantastic accommodations with up-to-date appliances and maid services twice a week. Great location with a 180 view from the private patio and a 5 minute walk to El Centro and the beach. Annie is very helpful regarding her knowledge of the town and surrounding areas as well as her wonderful personality!! A relaxed and charming experience and I look forward to coming again next winter.

fabulous

  • 5 of 5

I am a regular visitor to Casa Annie and it is a great house with a lovely outlook over the town, the forest, the mountains and the ocean. Sitting outside on the eastern porch in the early morning and the late afternoon are real treats, as the house is above the trees and a great bird watching location. Los de Marcos is really central to other lovely villages up and down the coast, including Sayulita, with lots of restaurants and shops to explore when the quiet streets of the small town, and the surrounding beaches and ranchlands have been explored. The beach is likely and beautiful and there are some great beach restaurants for sunsets. The house has everything you need and more.
