This single level home is an amazing getaway with awesome views of Canyon Lake. Heavily wooded lot gives the appearance of being secluded but you are minutes from amenities. Screened in porch runs the full length of the house where you can swing on the porch swing, play ping pong, or just sit back and relax with the view of the lake below you. From this awesome porch, you can also see the Canyon Lake Gorge and the Dam.
Master bedroom has an on suite bathroom and a queen bed, and a sliding glass door to the porch. The front bedroom has bunkbeds. The third bedroom/study has a full futon. Spacius living room has a wood burning rock fireplace and sliding glass doors to the porch.
Enjoy the wooded hike to the lake (about 1/4 mile downhill) as you enjoy the deer and other wildlife around you. House has high speed internet access.

We chose Canyon Lake because of its incredibly beauty of the Texas Hill Country and easy access to Austin and San Antonio. A great place to get away from the bustle of everyday life.
We enjoy the great hiking that is right out the back door of this property.
The house has a great view and is very close to tubing and all the activities at Canyon Lake. The owner(Rhonda) let us arrive early and stay late because of our travel complications. I noticed all the appliances in the kitchen were new and the owner told me about a future remodel of the bathrooms. The owners games were added fun for our family trip.
The property itself is nice and has a lovely porch. Rhonda, the owner, struggles with communication. She wasn't able to email me important attachments such as my receipt, lease agreement, and stay instructions. The lease agreement contains access instructions and other important information & wasn't sent with the attachment until the evening prior to our planned stay. I didn't see the email until the afternoon of our departure as we were en route. This greatly impacted my birthday vacation plans and ended up costing us a weekend of cold showers and being charged double the clean up fee. She charged additional clean up fee because she had two additional bagged up trash, the house was cleaner than when we arrived and she complained that her empty, sticky, old condiments were disposed of. We left fresh, new, spices and a few pantry goods but received no thanks or acknowledgement. We also were not aware of the bed stripping policy so the extra trash bags (it being a holiday weekend and my birthday) and not stripping the bed cost us more than double the clean up fee. Luckily I have photos and video showing the clean condition of how it was left. I took some pictures to capture the memory of where we stayed for my birthday, didnt realize I'd need it to demand a refund of my money. I was very disatisfied with being penalized for rules were weren't properly notified of and disappointed that an owner wouldn't care to even discuss with me before processing payment. I recommend you have her provide you with the lease terms, access information, and guidelines in advance of providing her your deposit to ensure mutual understanding.
The house fit all 6 of us comfortably. Very peaceful area. The deer come right up to you and let you feed them. Thee owners leave deer feed for you awesome bonus. The view is beautiful. Only con is walk to the water is almost impossible. Through thick forest like area and its hard to swim once down there. Porch is very large and relaxing.
The weekend was mainly for scrapbook retreat, but we found time for relaxing & enjoying the magnificent view. The deck was my favorite place. I love that they have a porch swing. We also enjoyed feeding the deer, hiking down to the shore, and playing ping pong. A great trip all in all. My only request would be the addition of a hot tub. ;)
This is the second time we've stayed at the Robin's Nest and I can honestly say it was just as great as the first time. The owners are great to work with and the upgrades they've made since last year make it evident that they take pride in making this home available to others. Save yourself some time, I searched and searched but was unable to find a better value than what this house offers. The home is just so comfortable and inviting. The bedrooms are well equipped and private. The area between the living, kitchen and dining room is open so you never miss out on anything going on. It was so nice to start the day with a cup of coffee on the deck and end the day watching the sunset over the lake. The AC is nice and cool. The kitchen is stocked with everything you'd need and there's plenty of seating available in the house and on the deck. Location, location, location! The house is just a few minutes from Comal Park, the marina and the local grocery store. We hiked down to the lake one day and spent the afternoon jumping off rocks and into the clear, cool water. If you have time read my review from last year, everything I said then still applies. We had such a great time here. Though we were sad to leave, the concensus on how we all felt upon leaving the house was "wonderful".
Stayed here for a girl's weekend - had a great time! We had planned to go out on Saturday evening, but the porch was so lovely we just stayed in with some wine and truly enjoyed ourselves. I especially loved drinking coffee in the morning and being visited by at least a dozen deer! We will definitely return!
Excellent experience. Owner was extremely communicative ensuring that everything was very easy and turnkey. Home was beautiful with the BEST views in the morning overlooking the Lake. Would rent from again in a heartbeat.
