We are a Seattle family that likes to get away to the beach. We rented our cabin for several years then have not rented it for the past 4 years. During that time we remodeled several rooms, put in a new bathroom, and did many updates. The cabin is much improved, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. We've decided to rent it again as we enjoy having guests and we have a busy schedule that keeps us from being at the beach as much as we'd like to be.
We have an on-site manager that takes care of the property. The calendar is not up to date, please check with the owner for the latest info. It may show an opening and be booked.
Possession Beach Walk is a beautiful, peaceful location with friendly neighbors and a great beach vibe.
110 feet of flat, no bank waterfront. Large yard, Excellent crabbing, fishing and clamming. The property is right on the waterfront beach for a day of playing or an evening by the campfire.
The beach is sandy near the bulk head then small pebbles and rocks sloping down to the water's edge..
Smooth, flat bike path for kids. Lots of room to play and explore. The front porch is the perfect spot to sit and enjoy it all.
A walk- in community: there is a large, flat community parking lot and a cement path to the community of beach cabins. You will have your own golf cart to use during your stay to get from your car to the cabin and back.
Before we even reached the beach cottage, we knew what was to come.... A feeling of calm, seeing the beauty of nature all around: waves, water, mountains, and even eagles and herons.
We enjoyed long walks on the beach, sunrises, sunsets, cuddling and reading books on the big couches, simple meals and ending the day with bonfires on the beach and roasting marshmallows. The kids spent hours combing the beach and playing on the big lawn. The house is comfortable and clean and we will definitely stay again soon. We created memories that will last a lifetime.
We stayed at the Possssion Waterfront for four nights and could not of been happier. Such a peaceful place to stay and working with Susan could not have been better. This place is so cozy! The bedrooms are both in the back and are smaller but that is great because it saves the majority of square footage for the large room in the front with big windows. At times it kind it feels like you're staying on top of the water. Also the crabbing was amazing. We would love to stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone considering… unless you're considering rentingiat the same week we want to;)
We really enjoyed our stay here! It was a short, close getaway for me, my husband and our two boys.
The golf cart was a fun & unique experience for us. Based on the previous reviews, we brought the bikes for the boys. It was nice not having to worry about cars. It felt safe, kid-friendly. The boys had fun wandering around exploring the beach area for shells, digging in the sand, picked blackberries in the back, and watching bunnies in the yard.
The house has that old charm and the interior is beautifully decorated...it felt beachy, cozy, & relaxing. You can sit anywhere in the living room/kitchen and just soak up the beautiful view. We loved how the living room furniture and beds were so comfy. One bedroom was a full bed the other had two twin beds...great fit for our family. The bathroom was very small but functional.
We appreciated all the little extras – S’more fixings in the cupboard, fleece throw blankets to curl up in, bookshelf with books, games, and table topic cards.
We went to Coupeville to visit Fort Casey, ate at Front Street Grill, Greenbank Farms for loganberry pie, Bubba Burger food truck, Double Bluff Beach, and Langley for the sport park & Prima Bistro. Langley also has the “Star Store” for healthier grocery items. Lots of good places!
It was our first time staying here and booking through VRBO. The informational email from Susan before we arrived was thorough.
(I appreciated their cell numbers, etc. posted on the kitchen bulletin board if we needed anything)
We had a minor mix up with the payment but it was easily resolved. Susan also let me know that she would offer 100% refund excluding nights spent at the cabin. I appreciated that since sometimes life happens...
We’ll plan on visiting again next summer!
We were looking for a place to visit with our 20' boat near Seattle and spent a wonderful night in this lovely and comfortable beachfront cabin. After going through the locks we got to the south end of Whidbey in under an hour. We tied up to a buoy in front of the cabin and used our dingy to row in to shore although the owners were careful to let us know they could not assume responsibility for the buoy or our boat. We didn't have any problems - the bouy was stable during our stay and the crabbing was phenomenal. After returning all the female and undersized crabs we easily got the limit allowed on our crabbing license. The best part was that if the weather had forced us to cancel our boat trip, we could still access the cabin easily via ferry.
The owner was super communicative and flexible and the cabin was well maintained and well appointed. Sitting on the front porch watching the view over the water was a highlight. We would return any time!
This cabin is great. We loved hanging out on the front porch with a glass of wine, looking out at the water. Walking the long beach, chatting with friendly neighbors, sitting on a driftwood log by the fire pit under the stars, all very relaxing. You can dig clams at low tide and it was even warm enough to swim when the tide was up. The cabin was cozy and had everything we needed. Our hosts even left us marshmallows, graham crackers, and chocolate to make S'mores. Fast WiFi too. We were too lazy to kayak, but that was available. Also, it was kind of fun driving the golf cart from the parking lot, and it was VERY nice to not have any cars around. Overall, I recommend this property for a relaxing beachfront get-away.
This was a great choice for us to share with out of state family so they could get a taste of island life in the PNW. The house is really sweet, well stocked, light filled with a great view. The beds were really comfy. It was fun to take the golf cart to the house. Having the beach so close where we could sit and watch the sound and have dinner was perfect. The community of Possession Beach was SUPER friendly and welcoming. The porch is perfect for having a relaxing cup of coffee and watching the morning unfold. We all really enjoyed being able to take the kayaks out for a paddle in the morning, too. I would recommend this house to anyone. We didn't have small children with us but it also seems like an ideal place for children to play and explore.
Susan, the owner, was really helpful and responsive. She made sure we had all of the directions we needed to get to the house.
My husband, myself, and our two children stayed for a week at this quaint and charming beach cottage. We had such a restful and relaxing time. Susan, the owner, was very helpful and accommodating. The cottage was extremely clean, well stocked, and nicely furnished. The beachfront setting was perfect. We were steps away from the water and enjoyed relaxing on the beach, sitting around the fire pit roasting marshmallows in the evening, and even simply rocking in the chairs on the front porch and enjoying the view. We did lots of crabbing right off the beach using the ocean kayaks and crab pots which were provided. There was even an outdoor stove and huge pot to prepare the crab. It could not have been more convenient. Clamming was also great at low tide. We saw lots of wildlife right on the property including deer, rabbits, and bald eagles. The kids had a great time collecting shells and rocks on the beach and playing in the water. They also enjoyed riding razor scooters and playing with balls and toys that were also provided. The golf cart ride back and forth from the parking lot to the cottage was a big hit with the kids. The neighbors were all extremely friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome and offered suggestions of things to do on the island.
We were able to explore the island a bit and visited the nearby town of Langley, which had lots of cute shops and restaurants. We also went to South Whidbey State Park and hiked through gorgeous forest trails. We visited Double Bluff Beach, a nice sand beach, which was a nice alternative to the beach in front of the house, which is mostly covered with small rocks and pebbles. One of our favorite places to eat for a quick bite was Pickles Deli in Clinton. The sandwiches were amazing - some of the best I've ever had.
If you are looking for a peaceful and tranquil vacation filled with endless beautiful scenery, look no further. Time really seemed to slow down while we were here. It was a much needed rest from the hustle of daily life. We hope to be back someday.
