This updated ocean view home comes complete with a golf cart, propane gas grill, beach towels, use of the neighborhood pool and a great ocean view! You will fall in love with the panoramic ocean view seen across acres of beautiful tidal marsh from this updated home. Tucked into a cul-de-sac in the neighborhood of Nautical Watch, this home is less than a minute’s walk to the Nautical Watch pool--available only to Nautical Watch owners and guests, and a quick 3 minute golf cart ride to the Beach and Racquet Club. This home is light, bright, and beachy….offering all of the comforts of home with a spectacular ocean view. 31 Nautical Watch has abundant natural light, with sliding glass doors in the living area, the master bedroom and one guest bedroom, and large windows in the dining area, kitchen, and second guest bedroom. Entering the home, you can see straight through the living area to the marsh and ocean beyond. A dining area comfortably seating six is to your right, with a pass through to the galley style kitchen with plenty of storage room in the pantry for your groceries.

Kick back in the living area where ample seating includes a comfortable sofa, a pair of “stress less” recliners with ottomans, an armchair with ottoman, and a rocking chair. (Please note the fireplace seen in the photos is decorative only, it is not a working fireplace.) There is a flat screen cable television and a DVD player in the living area, but we promise it is going to be hard to take your eyes off the view! The living area opens onto a large deck stretching across the marsh/ocean view side of the home, with a table and chairs, and an umbrella to keep you comfortable. You can watch the tides ebb and flow through the tidal marsh where herons, egrets, ibis and wood storks often pause to catch their dinners. Beyond the marsh you can see the Atlantic Ocean and across Johnsons Creek to the maritime forests of neighboring Hunting Island State Park.

The large master bedroom features a king sized bed and a full, private attached bath with a large vanity and tub/shower combination. A sliding glass door in the master conveniently opens onto the ocean view deck. What a way to start your day! On the opposite side of the living area is a short hallway accessing the guest bedrooms, second full bath, and laundry closet with full sized washer and dryer. One guest bedroom has a queen bed, plenty of drawer and closet space, flat screen cable television, and also offers private access to the bath. This bedroom, like the master, opens onto the back ocean view deck by way of sliding glass doors. The second guest bedroom is at the front of the home and is great for children, with flatscreen cable television and both a single daybed and a double bed that could sleep two.

Harbor Island is gated beach community on a small barrier island, 14 miles southeast of charming, historic Beaufort SC. The island is bordered by the Harbor River on the north, Saint Helena Sound and the Atlantic to the east, and Johnsons creek to the south. Harbor is very much a get away from it all location, with nothing commercial inside of our gates except a small sundries shop at the Beach and Racquet Club (BRC). Also at the BRC you will enjoy use of the Olympic sized pool overlooking the marshes of the Harbor River, a small kiddie wading pool, a playground, sand volleyball court, tennis courts and a well-equipped fitness center.

Nearby Beaufort offers plenty of options for off-island enjoyment. Downtown Beaufort offers fun boutique shopping, horse and carriage rides through the historic district filled with beautiful antebellum homes, and a gorgeous waterfront public park stretching along the Beaufort River where you can watch boats passing by or docking in the marina. Dolphin watch and other day cruise boats leave from the marina and offer great opportunities to see the lovely lowcountry scenery from the water. There are many dining options from fine dining to fast food, and fresh caught local seafood is a favorite both at restaurants and seafood markets. Depending on the time of year, you may want to try your hand at catching your own shrimp, crab or fish. Hunting Island has a wonderful fishing pier, and fishing off of the beach and in the creeks is permissible. For information about SC fishing regulations and licensing, visitors are advised to visit the website for the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources.

If you are interested in exploring farther afield, historic Savannah, Georgia and Charleston, SC are easy day trips. Savannah is a little over an hour away, Charleston about two hours. And the Hilton Head/Bluffton area, with outlet shops galore, is about an hour away.

Great Family Vacation

What a great house for a family vacation! This house has everything for a complete vacation. When you enter the view is what you notice first. Then you realize that the furniture and decor are perfect for a beach house. There is the most complete kitchen of any place we have rented. Used the gas grill multiple times for seafood from Gay Shrimp Co. The golf cart was a plus from going to the beach and touring the island. The community pool is just a house away. Not a better place to stay on Harbor Island.

Harbor Island is also a convenient day trip to the historic cities of Savannah, Georgia and Charleston, South Carolina, but we are betting you never want to leave the tranquility of Harbor Island and charm of beautiful Beaufort!
