Large house with beautiful view

  • 4 of 5

This house is lovely and the view is to die for. It has 3 bedrooms downstairs and one really large bedroom upstairs, along with a bonus "sleeping closet" of sorts, for 1 fifth single person -- right off the kitchen. The upstairs bedroom/playroom is ginormous and has 4 beds and a couch. A couple of useful notes: the bathtubs leave something to be desired, there isn't one bathroom that's like a sweet master bath or anything. The master bath has a half shower door that makes for kind of a cold shower (no way to keep the heat in). The hot tub is an older wood soaking tub, which was cool but a big pain to open up and access (there are 2 locks with very heavy wood slabs over it) and nearly impossible if those locks are frozen up, like in the winter. We had a power outtage which knocked the hot tub out for most of our stay, but that's nobody's fault. Note also that the driveway is quite long and if there's snow, you will probably be trapped until the plow driver comes. The neighborhood itself is very steep and treacherous unless you have snow tires. We had 4WD + chains and still had some hairy moments on the steep streets. All of that said, we still had a great time. The kitchen is well-stocked and we'll come back just for the amazing view.
