Fabulous 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom beachfront penthouse apartment with plunge pool on a large patio that is partially uncovered to allow for sunbathing in privacy without leaving the apartment.

Very spacious and beautifully furnished, each bedroom has a bathroom and only bedrooms are air conditioned. There is a fully equipped open plan Italian kitchen.

St. Lawrence Gap the restaurant and entertainment hub of the island is just outside your door yet the property is not affected by this area which comes alive at night as it is situated just on the edge of all the action.

Maximum occupancy 6 persons.

Location, Location, Location: Ideally located in walking distance to everything!

Nice Stay and Great Value, but Unit is a Little Tired

We rented Mistle Cove for five days and very much enjoyed our stay, though with some important caveats.

The unit is pretty much as advertised. It's on the fifth (top) floor and hence has spectacular views of the water, great cross ventilation (important as the main living area is not air conditioned), well proportioned rooms and with a nice layout either for a family or for friends, and most importantly, very comfortable beds.

The location works for those who want to take advantage of some great local restaurants, and there is a convenience store (albeit over-priced) next door. The local beaches are OK -- Rockley beach is 7 minute cab ride toward Bridgetown and Dover Beach is a 7 minute walk away. Both were pretty crowded. There is a small parcel of beach in front of the building, as well as a pool. We found it very safe, and everyone in the building (which seems to cater to renters rather than owners) quite friendly.

However, the unit fell short in a few key areas. We arrived after midnight and it was not prepped for our arrival. Given that the realtor is across the street, we would have thought that at least the bedroom air conditioners might have been turned on so we were not greeted by a stifling hot apartment at 3 in the morning. It is took us a long-time to get the AC working, and then it took at least an hour to cool the rooms to a tolerable temperature. Meanwhile we could not get the living room (given no AC) to cool down despite opening the doors; moreover, the drapes were off their rollers and were not easily closed to block out the light, the kitchen sink was leaking (from the base, not the spout), and a fan we moved into the living room didn't work either because it was broken or the outlet had now power. There were so many of these little items which taken alone would not impair one's stay, but taken together seemed to reflect a unit that was frankly pretty well warn and a little beaten up.

We raised several of these issues to the realtor, who seemed reasonably responsive in trying to address the various issues, but frankly there were too many little items for us to bother mentioning.

So despite all these issues, we would recommend Mistle Cove given the price point. That said, I would definitely try to ensure that the apartment is prepped for your arrival; first impressions are critical, and I think we probably would have been more tolerant of all the minor hiccups had our initial arrival been smoother and cooler.

A Must!

This place is fabulous and the pretty pictures on this site don't even begin to do justice to how gorgeous the unit and the views are in-person. We stayed for a week with our two young children and were absolutely delighted with the beauty of the unit, the incredible private beach and the great location. This place was the centerpiece of an incredible vacation for us!

St. Lawrence Gap is the most well known area on the island, it is the restaurant and entertainment hub. During the day there are arts and crafts available for sale, watersports concessions on Dover Beach which is just five minutes walk away. At night The Gap comes alive with local live entertainment, busy bars and restaurants tempt the passerby. Lots of roadside vendors ply their local cuisine you can buy the most delicious macaroni pie, fried chicken and fish, black eyes peas and rice and lots more.
