Our condo is situated within the prestigious seventy acre Poipu-Kai Resort on the South shore of Kauai. It is just a short walk through the beautiful tropical grounds to Shipwreck Beach or Poipu Beach Park (a snorkeler's paradise). The resort has nine tennis courts (small court fee). There is a shop for all your tennis needs, including rentals. After the game relax in the Jacuzzi spa or swimming pools. You can barbecue your "catch of the day" in one of the well-maintained grills near the pool.

Lofty beamed ceilings accent this beautiful, airy condominium (approx.1,000 sq ft), with two living/sitting areas and a bright dining alcove. The surrounding greenery lends a peaceful air. There are two comfortable lanais, one off the living room/dining area, and the other off the master bedroom. This affords you a choice of shade or sun as the day unfolds. Sip your morning coffee on the front lanai and check out the waves for the day's surfing prospects, or watch the beautiful island sunsets over a glass of wine.

A great romantic getaway or a quiet retreat with friends since you have the option of 2 sleeper sofas. Our "Hale" (home) features a master bedroom with king sized bed and a huge walk-in closet. Full tiled bath with large soaking tub/shower and granite counter and double sinks has hall access.

The kitchen has a full-sized refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, range-oven, dinnerware, small appliances, and pots and pans. There is a washer and dryer and extra linens. Beach gear for your use includes beach towels, beach chairs & mats, sand toys and cooler. Play N' Pack and inflatable single bed available upon request.

The home also features premium channel color TV, DVD and CD players, and high speed wireless internet access and private phone. Each room has its own ceiling fan to augment the island's dependable, gentle trade winds.

Kauai Beaches: Poipu Kai resort fronts on two well known beaches... Shipwreck Beach and Brennecke Beach, each an excellent bodysurfing beach. Next to Brennecke beach is Poipu Beach Park, rated the best beach in North America for four years running. It features a sheltered "baby beach" for toddlers and parents, and a great snorkeling and swimming beach with every variety of tropical fish usually only seen in aquariums. Surfing or paddle boarding is also an excellent option at Poipu Beach with a surf shop and board rentals just across the street from the beach.

Very Nice accomodations

We stayed one week and I have to say that the condo was very clean and even though no AC the breeze kept the place comfortable. Instructions and directions to condo were very easy. The weather was the only problem. Left cold rain in Oregon to find wind and warm rain at Poipu Kai. Could not use the balconies because of the rain and wind, but the condo is very nice. Probably would not return to Kaui, but only because of the weather we encountered.

Owner's Response: Aloha, and thank you for the nice review of our property. We are so sorry about the rainy weather you encountered. This was due to a huge low pressure west of the state and a high pressure to the northeast of the state. Unfortunately all the islands were affected by the storm. Generally, Poipu is one of the sunniest places on Kauai. This amount of rain is unusual for Kauai and the other islands. Last time this occurred was in 2006. We encourage our guests to give Poipu another chance.

We had an amazing stay at this condo. The essentials were already there at check-in so we didn't have to go to the store. It was clean and beautiful. We loved having two balconies. We used both of them depending on the time of day. Customer service gets a 5 star also.

Great location!

My husband and I stayed at the condo for 2 weeks and had a wonderful time.. We were very pleased that the pictures and description were accurate. The beach is in walking distance and 2 pools were available - one of them is just steps away. We also enjoyed the 2 balconies for meals and just relaxing. Liked the condo's layout and washer/dryer combo. Close enough to walk to shopping, restaurants, but the property was very quiet. Condo was very clean. Only suggestion I would make is the tub needs the grout scrubbed. I didn't notice it until I took a bath. Hope to stay here again!

Everything you could want!

My wife and I stayed in this beautiful property for our honeymoon and couldn't have had a better experience. Everything was exactly as described and very clean. The property managers were extremely quick to respond and even went to the unit to turn the lights on for us when they found out our flight had been delayed! The grounds are absolutely gorgeous and the beach is very close by. The unit is also within walking distance to restaurants and a VERY short car ride to shopping. I honestly can't think of a single negative thing. I would highly recommend this unit and we look forward to visiting again!

Slice of Heaven

Lush well maintained gardens engulf this home away from home. Spacious feeling with the cathedral ceiling and open layout. Nice granite counters in the kitchen made it feel just like home. Wash/dryer combo was a real plus. About a 100-150 yards to the beach with a bit of a view from the deck. Home was clean and well kept. Well stocked kitchen, walk in closet and great owners. Location close to everything yet far enough away to be quiet. Happy hour at Keoki's great food and prices - calamari best I've ever had! Homemade pastries and French press coffee - amazing! - at Koloa Coffee. Mahalo to Julianna and Jim for managing this fabulous property.

    $400 refundable deposit is required; standard outcleaning fee and 13.42% Hawaii state taxes will be added to all reservations. An initial payment of $500 is required to secure the reservation.     Our holiday season extends from Dec. 17- Jan. 6 with a one week minimum stay (2 week minimum if the stay includes both holidays). We divide the season into two periods with some flexibility on dates and length of stay. For the first week (Christmas) we ask our guests to arrange their departure date to fall between Dec. 26 and Dec. 28. For the second week (New Year's celebration) we ask guests to arrive around Dec 27-29. This gives the option of 7-10 days for either holiday segment.
