About the property

House, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-4)

This quiet apartment is located on a dead-end street, with easy access to the I-5 freeway. It is close to the University of Washington, walking distance to six restaurants and two coffee shops, and buses (#68, 73, 77, and 373) to downtown and the UW. To map this general vicinity, use the cross streets: NE 92nd Street and 15th Ave NE, Seattle WA 98115. The apartment has its own entrance. It is on the top floor of our house, and has wonderful views of the Cascade Mountains to the east. The family oriented neighborhood is great for walking. There are two parks within a short walk.

The apartment has a separate outdoor entrance. The large living room has a stereo, TV, books, a hide-a-bed couch, rocking chair and work table. The room is well lit, with two skylights that can be opened. The furnished kitchen contains a full size electric stove, microwave, refrigerator, and all the dishes need to cook a splendid meal. The dining area has a wonderful view of the Cascade Mountains. The bedroom has a queen size bed, a large closet, and a dresser. The bathroom contains a shower.

About Pete Thorn

We have lived in this house for 27 years, and raised two boys. The boys are adults and we have this large house which we'd love to share. We put on a new roof, and built the apartment in 2010. We like all things outdoors, hiking, birding, the ocean and mountains. We have 5 fruit trees, and a large garden.

Pete Thorn purchased this house in 1986

Why Pete Thorn chose Seattle

We love this neighborhood and have lived in this house for 27 years, and the house across the street for another five years. This location makes for easy driving access to many Seattle highlights. In addition, there are good restaurants and coffee shops within a ten minute walk. This neighborhood has one the the best video rental shops in town.

Quiet cul-de-sac, nice upstairs apartment with all of the necessities. Good condition, clean, nice feel. Would stay here again.

Perfect location, easy comfortable living.

  • 5 of 5

Pete and Rose are lovely and their place was a perfect place for my family and I to land for several weeks of Seattle summer living. The only thing I would change would be the addition of a clothes washing machine.

We were very happy with the apartment and the hosts.

  • 5 of 5

The property was as advertised, was very clean and very well stocked with not only the essentials, but also with many very nice amenities. We would definitely recommend this place as a good choice for future visits to the North Seattle area.

Fabulous Neighborhood!

  • 5 of 5

I was a little hesitant to stay here because the picture of the outside didn't look very nice. I was thinking it was going to be in a "rough" neighborhood. But the price was right and I was struggling to find an available place during the U of W graduation so I booked it and thankfully I ended up being wrong! It turned out to be a delightful neighborhood that I loved to take my morning walks in.

There were six of us all together and there was plenty of room for all of us! The pictures don't show how spacious the space actually is. My daughter & I took the bedroom and the bed (which was very cozy and comfortable) and my 4 sons all had a comfortable space to sleep too. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the bedroom was bigger then it looked along with the kitchen area which was so sunny and welcoming.

The apartment was complete with everything we needed to make our breakfast and coffee too if we chose. But we opted to walk for coffee as there were two shops within walking distance. It is a great neighborhood to walk in. It's at the bottom of a hill but I considered that an additional perk to my morning walk.

I highly recommend this space and Pete and Rose were delightful hosts. I would rent this space again...in fact I loved the neighborhood so much I would love to move to the area! :)

nice space

  • 5 of 5

My family and I (husband, 2 kids - ages 1 & 2.5) enjoyed our stay at Pete and Rose's apartment. It was well appointed, pretty roomy, and well-appointed. Pete was very helpful in giving us some bike-route pointers and getting onto the internet. There was a fantastic playground just a few blocks away, as well! It was quiet at night and centrally located (most of our activities surrounded the UW & north).
