Spectacular - Best place I've stayed

  • 5 of 5

I stayed here with my dog for 6 weeks and loved it. The home is fully stocked, from coffee grinder to tools- even spices! The house is very bright and airy and the flow of the rooms is nice. The wifi was very fast, the furniture in the living-room was very comfy, the sitting chairs extra wide. The appliances are modern and high-end, with plenty of counter space and every thing you could possibly need.

There's a carport on the side of the house so you can access your car from the front porch without stepping into the elements. All of the rooms have nice ceiling fans and there is a great breeze if you open all of the many windows. The is both a smaller firepit on the large deck and there is also a larger bonfire area, too. The dining/office area has a cathedral ceiling and this adds to the open and bright feel. You won't need to bring anything and having a washer/dryer, dishwasher and double sink in the kitchen makes preparing meals and doing laundry easy. There's a very large deck with a nice picnic table and very comfy outdoor furniture. A propane gas grill is right off the dining room and makes for easy meals indoors and out.

The pictures, especially of the yard, do not do this place justice. The only small issue was the trash collection( you have to call for pickup), but this is minor.

There is a circular driveway, which is great if you have more than 1 car. It's very quiet, private and peaceful, yet is only 7 or 8 minutes from town.

This house is far more than a cabin and I will certainly rent again when I am in the area.

It was just magic for us!

  • 5 of 5

Our first visit to this area and your cabin looked just right for our escape with our little dog. Comfortable bed, well stocked kitchen, comfortable seating in & out to enjoy our surroundings watch the stars & full moon, and local wild life. The glow of the fire early morning just was the best. Hope to return next year..

Very nice layout!

  • 4 of 5

Definitely a nice place to stay, layout of the house was perfect with all the comforts of home. Only negatives were the fact that at sometime someone had a cat in the house and we had a friend over that is really allergic to cats, therefore we had to go into town to visit, and the house keeping left a bit to be desired. But we will be back!

Big Horn Cabin was excellent.

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was great. It was very clean and well-maintained, and the listing pictures were very accurate as to the layout and amenities of the cabin.

There was a tremendous view of the mountains from the master bedroom, and the stars were amazing from the second bedroom.

We particularly appreciated the location of the cabin which was about 5 miles or so from Pagosa (5-10 minute drive), but secluded enough that we had almost no traffic going by the cabin. We saw deer every morning.

The ages of our group ranged from 86 down to 11, and we all thought this was the best place we've rented yet. If we vacation in Pagosa again, Big Horn cabin will definitely be our first choice.

We had wonderful days at Steve´s cabin. It´s so silent, you can hear your blood flowing during the night. The Cabin is perfect equiped and has everything to relax. We were specially impressed by the "firetable". The photos of the cabin reflect exactly the realitiv. The house was very clean. The agency, that manages the rental, is very helpful (they sended 30 minutes after reclamation a team to repair the frigde). And: Pagos springs is wonderful.

We'll be back!

  • 5 of 5

Spent most of our spring break at Big Horn - 3 teens and husband - all skiers/snowboarders except Mom. The cabin suited us perfectly! It's quiet and cozy, clean and private, new and nicely decorated. Really lovely setting and views. I was super happy at home with my internet access (brought my own laptop), satellite TV to watch all the NCAA basketball games, and quiet for reading. We were especially happy with the big, super-well-equipped kitchen (and gas grill). Owner was friendly and accommodating and property manager was at the ready when we needed a couple of things. Lots of nice little touches like restaurant guides and recommendations, grocery store "value" card, activity brochures... We loved Pagosa Brewing Company, Kip's and Alley House. We'll be back!
