About the property

Townhome, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 3.5 Baths, (Sleeps 10)

Our story started with buying a used SUV, the Green Moose, to use while skiing. We then fell in love with Big Sky; it is breathtakingly beautiful with vast skiing terrain (Biggest Skiing in America 5,512 acres) and summer activities galore. The resort has a wide variety of terrain for all skill levels, frequent powder days, and short lift lines—even during holiday breaks! So we purchased our dream 2200 sq ft., three bedroom townhome and now have a place to park the Green Moose SUV! The Saddle Ridge Townhome is perfectly situated right on the ski slope close to Moonlight Lodge (true ski-in, ski-out) and offers a sweeping view of Big Sky. Your “vacation is on” as we can offer both - an amazing home and an 8 passenger GMC Suburban to use for FREE (up to 200 miles and $0.35 / mile thereafter) while touring Montana. Of course you don’t need the vehicle to ski as we are located literally right on the ski slope. You simply put on your skis and ski down to the Pony Express lift. When the day is over or you just want a hot chocolate break, you can ski back to the condo. It couldn’t be easier!

The townhouse has three spacious bedrooms, three and a half baths and offers comfort and fine amenities; fluffy towels and comfortable beds. You can sink into the living room sofa and chairs, be warmed by the fireplace, and watch your favorite programs on Direct TV, Blu-Ray, or DVD. If that’s not enough, you can use our Chromecast to stream videos off your Netflix, Hulu Plus, or HBO Go accounts using our free, full condo WiFi internet. We have a full condo speaker system connected to the receiver in the living room and cords to connect up your smartphone or MP3 player. So you can listen to music and enjoy the evening while the kids play games on our Xbox and Xbox 360. We have a large library of movies, video games, and books. A fully (and we mean fully) equipped kitchen and pantry rounds out a great experience. There are dramatic views of the mountains from all windows. After an exhausting day of skiing or hiking you can soak in the outdoor hot tub and view Lone Peak Mountain – or the amazing starry night! A large deck off the dining area can be enjoyed at any time, especially for that family meal during the balmy summer months or a mid-morning coffee chat with your friends!

Then what about summer you ask? Well, Yellowstone Park is 45 minutes away and home to some of the most breathtaking and beautiful natural wonders, including mud volcanoes, hot springs, steam vents, and rivers. There is trout fishing in the Big Sky Valley, white water rafting and hiking out your back door. You will share your adventure with moose, elk and an occasional black bear. Bozeman is 45 minutes away and is the home of Montana State University which hosts The Museum of the Rockies. It has an amazing dinosaur exhibit and Jack Horner, university museum paleontologist was adviser to Jurassic Park!

The SUV, fondly known as The Green Moose, is a 1998 Suburban. It sports old world luxury with heated leather seats, comfortable seating for 8, clean interior and enough room for extra stuff. The engine is completely rebuilt, new tires, and cruise control. This is available for no extra charge during the ski season (200 miles per week max) and the gas tank needs to be full when you leave. If you wish to use over 200 miles per week, the charge will be $0.35 per mile over the 200 mile max limit. Eligible drivers only. While use of the vehicle is free under 200 miles, we do require that you sign a vehicle rental agreement and furnish a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance. If you wish to use the vehicle, please let us know ASAP and at least 1 month prior to arrival. The vehicle meets you at the Bozeman Airport and must be returned to the Bozeman Airport.

Keywords: Phenomenal mountain views from every window best describe this incredible and luxurious ski in and ski out townhouse. And we offer The Green Moose (our SUV) to use!

The beauty of Yellowstone and conforts of home.

VRBO Bear stayed here

May 27, 2015

While visiting Yellowstone we had the privilege of staying at this rental. We had the time of our life with the surroundings and the scenic views. Anyone who enjoys a nice view on top of the mountain would enjoy a vacation at this property. The owner of property has wonderful taste and the decorations reflect it nicely. They used a green moose theme, lots of fun and quite suitable for the local environment. We were totally bowled over by the hospitality shown to us. The pantry was fully stocked and we even found medicines, office supplies, etc. For someone who likes cooking we found the grocery store Rocky’s (less than 5 miles away) has lot of variety. We loved the hot tub for tired bodies after a hectic day. Golf equipment was available for those who want to visit the nearby golf course. Everything about this house was awesome. We would, without a doubt, rent from Diane and Robert again. In fact, my wife was so impressed with the property that she wants to come back every year!

Loved The Moose

  • 5 of 5

This was our first trip to Montana and Big Sky. We chose this property for the space, ski in/ski out, and the vehicle (Green Moose) was a great bonus. The owners have provided a lot of extras and clear instructions that made it very easy to settle in and figure things out. The communication with the owners was excellent- it was clear that they care about your stay. The 3 BR are all large and we had plenty of room for everyone to spread out or hide away if they ever had too much together time. The hot tub was fantastic and well maintained. The vehicle was so easy to find in the small airport at Bozeman. The "long term" parking is closer than parking at most Walmarts on a Saturday. It is an old model (as stated) but big, clean, and safe. One forgets how much space a group needs when skiing with luggage and ski equipment for a everyone- SUV rentals run 700-800 per week. We hope to return to Big Sky again sometime and we would definitely stay here again. It's a great property and a good value for the location and space.

Location is ideal!

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic week at big sky and the green moose did not disappoint. From the suburban waiting at the airport to the slopes directly outside your door, this was one of the most convenient rentals I've ever stayed at. The hot tub is a plus as well. Would definitely recommend to all!

Best ski in ski out condo! Green moose rocks!

  • 5 of 5

Dear Diane and Robert.......thank you so much for an unforgettable trip to big sky! Your place is truly a spectacular ski condo with everything you could want for a vacation.

First of all the green moose waits patiently for you in long term parking full of gas and ready to go......we hit Costco for some basics then a quick hour to roxy's grocery in big sky for some fine tuning then the liquor store for a few apres ski essentials.....10 minutes to the condo which has a good garage for parking and you walk into a beautiful living room with views of mountains and ski lifts! Clean and organized especially for a worldly trained chef (me) the kitchen is great! By the way I froze a veal and pancetta bolognese in freezer for the next guests! Enjoy with spaghetti! The pantry is very well stocked so don't go crazy at grocery store.

Now for the skiing! 10 seconds to ski lift and you are off to arguably the best skiing in North America! What a treat! For a true ski vacation Diane and Roberts condo is a no brainer!! The Mota brothers were here!

Owner's Response: Thank you Chef Mota for a nice review :) Tough to have all the kitchen supplies for a chef but we do a lot of cooking too so we like to be prepared! Glad the skiing was awesome and come visit again! Diane and Robert

The BEST ski vacation rental we've ever had!!! Would give it 6 stars if we could.

  • 5 of 5

We have gone on week long family ski vacations annually to various resorts for the past 10 years. Without a doubt, this property is the best we've experienced. Great ski out location. Roomy living space. Great kitchen that is beyond well stocked. Even better are the owners who answered every question promptly and responded professionally to any concern. It feels like you are renting from friends. The use of the gigantic SUV allowed us to carry our baggage, a weeks worth of groceries (which we picked up in Bozeman per others' suggestions), and our ski gear (rented from East Slope - another great place) all in one trip. The hot tub was great after a full day of skiing. Great views of the mountain and a quiet neighborhood. High class throughout. If (and when) we return to Big Sky, the Green Moose will be the first place we check.

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for staying with us. We appreciate our guests and the reviews! The Green Moose is our home away from home so we take great care in making sure things work- from the dishwasher to the SUV and being sure that if you forget a bandaid or pair if scissors, you can find one! Please join us again in future years. Hey Summer is great in Big Sky too :)

The Green Moose

  • 5 of 5

If you are planning a visit to Big Sky, it will be difficult to find a better place to stay than the Green Moose. The location is ideal. Not only is it a true ski in/ski out, but the unobstructed view from the hot tub at night is breathtaking. The owners' attention to detail is second to none. For example, when I needed a spatula to spread the icing or a meat thermometer, I found both in the well stocked kitchen. Staying at this condo is like staying at a good friend's home while he or she is out of town. The icing on the cake is the included use of the Suburban. This Christmas ski vacation will be one our family will always remember fondly.

Owner's Response: We love hosting families for ski vacations. We also have several "chefs" in the family so like to have a well stocked kitchen. Glad you were able to enjoy the many aspects of staying at the Green Moose! Please come back :) Diane and Robert

Best vacation of my life!

  • 5 of 5

I've vacationed all around this country - and even internationally - and I have to say this was probably the most beautiful area on I've ever stayed in (stayed in June). This condo/cabin in Big Sky, MT was absolutely perfect. It was clean, well appointed, and furnished with just about everything we needed. If you're visiting Yellowstone every day (like we did) it's a bit of a drive to/from the park (which you'll see on the map), but it is one of the most beautiful drives you can find, so the driving time went by very quickly. I cannot recommend this location and this owner's condo enough. Stay here and you won't be disappointed. One note: Get your groceries at one of the major stores in nearby Bozeman, MT (it's a relatively short drive), as opposed to the very overpriced local market. Enjoy!
