About the property

Apartment, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 3)

Brought to you by ParlerParisApartments, and located just around the corner from the Musée d'Orsay which houses the world's greatest collection of impressionist masterpieces, La Maison d'Orsay is a lovely blend of modern conveniences and efficiency with old-world French charm and elegance.

The apartment was completely renovated in 2010 and no corner was left untouched. The neutral tones of the color scheme highlight the beautiful antiques and give a sense of calm and serenity.

The living room is comprised of two comfortable armchairs opposite a leather sofabed, which serves as a bed for an additional guest. The flat-screen TV and DVD player are hidden behind a sliding door in this room and there is free satellite access to watch over 100 channels.

The large and well-equipped kitchen has everything you would want, including a built-in combination oven/microwave, a dishwasher, two-burner ceramic stove, fridge and Nespresso coffee maker, not to mention a complete supply of cookware, dishes, cutlery and glassware. There are two dining options -- either cozy seating at the marble bistro table with two chairs, or the stools that fit neatly under the extended kitchen counter.

The bedroom at the back of the apartment and facing a courtyard for ultimate quiet, has a comfortable queen-sized bed, elegant lighting, matching antique night tables and a French-style bureau. The mirrored closets in the alcove provide substantial hanging, shelf and storage space. For your musical pleasure, there is a Bose Sound Wave CD player/radio here in the bedroom.

The large and spacious bathroom is equipped with a sink and oversized vanity that offers ample counter and drawer space for all of your toiletries. There is a large tub/shower combination with hand-held and rainfall shower heads. The apartment's washer and dryer are both also located in this room.

The Area Around La Maison d'Orsay

Many locals call rue de Verneuil "Magic Street." If you stay at La Maison d'Orsay, you will find out why. This cozy, elegant and chic pied-à-terre on the Left Bank of the Seine is a food lover's paradise. Literally steps from your front door you will find an Androuet Cheese Shop, an Eric Kayser Patisserie, Le Cacaotier Artisan Choclatier and a charcuterie. A bounty of marvelous and intriguing restaurants line the street…from the intimate and casual to the très chic! Friendly bistros share the street with superlative and adventurous French gourmet cooking.

Antique lovers and 'culture vultures' will be delighted when staying at this apartment as rue de Verneuil is right in the heart of the antiquarian area. A plethora of charming and stunning little antique shops full of French treasures are nestled among many contemporary art galleries. This street is a treasure trove of culinary, cultural and artistic delights.

With Le Musée d'Orsay and the River Seine just steps away, you will find yourself in the heart of one of the city's most elegant districts in easy walking to many major sights, including the Assemblée Nationale, Hôtel des Invalides, Le Jardin des Tuileries and Le Musée du Louvre. The famous cafés of Saint-Germain-des-Prés are a short walk away -- Les Deux Magots, Café de Flore and Brasserie Lipp. There is endless shopping of the chicest kind in the entire district with the Bon Marché department store and Grande Epicerie within easy reach.

Public transportation abounds on all sides including the RER regional train network which takes you to points outside of Paris such as the airports Charles de Gaulle and Orly, Disneyland Paris and Versailles. There is no doubt you will find this part of Paris perfectly charming and convenient.

My daughter and I had a perfect visit to Paris, and it was made so much more enjoyable because of the accommodations. We loved La Maison d'Orsay. It was a perfect location to explore the whole city. We look forward to our next visit.

Best Vacation Ever

  • 5 of 5

La Maison D'Orsay was the best apartment. A contemporary apartment located in the best arrondissement - 7th. My 16 years old son, sister, and I love this apartment. Very well decorated with natural lights and appropriate ventilation. Bedroom facing the courtyard made sleeping very peaceful with no noise. It was very accessible to everything - la seine, boulangeries, metro, Musee D'Orsay, cafes, and our fav. Monoprix. We stayed for 10 days and never wanted to leave. My son's fav. was renting the velib and exploring the neighborhood. We walked to everywhere - to the Louvre, jardin des tuileriers, used the batobus for sightseeing. I cannot say enough of this apartment! Everything we needed was provided for us in the apartment with no added costs. We made good friends within the neighborhood and would definitely be back next year!! Luz was amazing in answering all our questions. Buses, metros, and batobus were all very accessible - all at walking distance!! We love Paris and would definitely recommend this beautiful apartment!!

Wonderful Apartment in a Fantastic Location!

  • 5 of 5

La Maison d"Orsay was a wonderful apartment in a fantastic location. My husband and I stayed here for 8 nights and loved our Parisienne home! The apartment was very nice and well equipped. It was in a great location and convenient to several metro stations. But the best was being in such a walkable area with wonderful cafes and bistros, a Monoprix grocery a few blocks away and a chocolate shop and bakery down the block. I would definitely stay here again!

The apartment was very modern and located on the 1st floor( second for Americans). Very glad we just had to climb one flight of stairs!! We knew it was going to be somewhat on the small side, but the layout was great, so the size was no problem. The bathroom has good counter space and several drawers, which was really nice to have. Plenty of towels and supplies. The seating areas was comfortable and kitchen very well stocked. So nice to have a fridge and the space for our Monoprix buys! The bed was advertised as a queen, but I think it was between a queen and king-extremely comfortable with nice linens. No A/C, but we didn't need it. Could open the windows for a great cross breeze.

The Wifi worked great as did the cable TV, although we did not watch it much. As with any old apartment building, you do sometimes hear your upstairs neighbor, but not enough to be bothersome. We have no complaints at all-from the booking process, to the arrival meeting and our stay. Everything worked out perfectly to make our week in Paris magnifique!!!

Perfect pied-à-terre in the 7th Arrondissement

  • 5 of 5

La Maison d’Orsay is a gem. The apartment itself is beautifully appointed and very comfortable. It is well set up for “self-catering”, to whatever level you want. Having a breakfast of croissants and coffee at the marble topped bistro table feels totally Parisian! It’s also a great place to come home to at the end of a day of sightseeing. The bedroom window faces a courtyard, so you can get fresh air and quiet at night, which is pretty amazing considering the location.

Speaking of the location, it’s a block one way to the Musée d’Orsay, and two blocks the other way to the Louvre. The Tuilieries are your local park. There are numerous restaurants, galleries and independent shops of every description within a few blocks – some literally next door to, or across the street from the apartment. There is a fabulous bakery at the end of the block, and a grocery store a block further. It’s walking distance from a lot of the major tourist attractions, and if you don’t want to walk, there’s an RER (transit) station a block away.

My wife and I have stayed there twice, and can’t wait to go back.

Mother and Daughter from South Carolina & Washington DC

Having never traveled outside the US, I was nervous about renting an apartment on my first European adventure. If you have similar concerns, this is the rental company and the apartment for you! All of our questions were answered via email within hours. We were met at the apartment by Shannon who was professional, courteous, and extremely helpful. We received a complete tour of the apartment, with a review of all appliances, WiFi access was set up for us, and we were given a wonderful description of the neighborhood amenities.

The apartment is exactly as described- but more! Many of the items that we had brought were already provided- umbrellas, converters, a laptop computer, coffee for the Nespresso machine, robes, hair dryer, even cotton balls and Q-tips. The apartment is immaculate, beautifully decorated and well maintained. The pictures in the listing portray it exactly.

The neighborhood is safe, quaint, and the location cannot be beaten. On this block there is a wonderful bakery where we got breakfast every day, an organic gourmet shop, a chocolate shop, and several restaurants. There was a "street party" on Thursday night with a red carpet running the full length of the street! The party was delightful, but you could not hear a sound from inside the apartment.

The Musee d'Orsay is a block away, as is a metro station. The Seine is just across the road from the museum. The walk to the Louvre is short, but lovely. There is an abundance of small shops specializing in antiques, books, and handbags within a block of the apartment. The Monoprix grocery store is also very close.

I have already written friends to recommend this apartment for their future trips to Paris. Our intent was to experience Paris as Parisians, not tourists, and this listing fit the bill perfectly. If we are fortunate enough to return to Paris, this is where I will stay!

Beautiful & Outstanding in Every Way!!!

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from 3 glorious nights at Maison D'Orsay and would highly recommend it to anyone interested in a trip of a lifetime to Paris. The newly renovated (6 months ago) flat, has it all! The building was so quiet, safe, elegant... We could not stop smiling. It is better than the website's description, by far.

Parler Paris's staff had arranged for Sophie meet us there and warmly give us a full orientation and welcome to the great neighbourhood. We love this agency and would highly recommend them to anyone planning a trip to France. We rented 2 properties through them on this trip and also had friends who rented another apartment from them only a couple of blocks away. They were thrilled too.

Our flat had it all - It was sparkling clean with a large modern bathroom with a huge tub and rain shower, heated towel rack, new washer/dryer, dishwasher, nespresso machine, secure entree, bar with stools, huge windows that open, free phone calls to NA and beyond, great wifi, a separate bedroom, change area with many closets, hidden flatscreen and dvd, Bose player for our Edith Piaf CD, super comfortable bed, large comfy white leather pull-out in livingroom... The street outside is amazing and 20 feet outside the front door is the most romantic and delicious Indian restaurant we have ever been to. It is dimly lit and small - no more than 20-24 seats. The Sancerre wine, tandoori prawns and butter chicken were all mouth watering. Great service too. Right next door is a quiet bar/restaurant, and on the same block are 2 wine shops, corner store, chocolaterie, boulangerie on corner and restaurants on Rue Bac galore. The French Prime Minister lives closeby AND on our first night walking home from dinner, we saw Karl Lagerfeld on our street!!!! We gave him his space and pretended not too look. :) It took us less than 5 minutes to walk to the D'Orsay to see Van Gogh's works and only another 5 to cross the bridge to the Louvre to see Mona Lisa. The 69 bus took us straight to our friend's apartment rental in Le Marais. We could walk to the jazz bars in St Germain Des Pres with ease. The Monoprix grocery store is amazing and only 2 blocks away, the subway stop is Rue De Bac (closeby).

Note - We did alot of research prior to booking 2 apartments with Parler Paris. They had a good reputation and I liked that the rental prices were ALL inclusive with no added fees. All around, a wonderful experience! Thank you Sophie and Parler Paris!
