La Belle Notre Dame - Your Prayers Have Been Answered!!

Property type apartment
Minimum Stay 4 nights

About the property

Apartment, 2 Bedrooms, 1.5+ Baths, (Sleeps 4)

As seen on House Hunters International!

Brought to you by ParlerParisApartments: The world’s most famous church, La Cathédral Notre Dame de Paris, is the spiritual and geographical center of Paris. There is a marker in the square in front of the Cathedral that designates “kilometer zero” from which all distances to and from Paris, are measured. La Belle Notre Dame is 100 meters from this spot, so where better to immerse yourself in the splendor of Paris than in the very heart of the city where life began!?

Under the direction of our talented designer, Martine di Matteo, this two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment has been transformed into a masterpiece of style and comfort. On the third floor with elevator, this luxury apartment will make your stay in Paris absolutely perfect.

From the entrance, you will immediately be struck by the apartment's bold and beautiful color scheme of blacks, whites, pinks and chartreuse's. Elegant silk draperies, high quality upholstery and several unique features make this apartment one-of-a-kind. To add to the artistic touch is an array of extensive custom mosaic tile work done by 'mosaiiste,' Veronique Husson, who contributed her beautiful handiwork in other of our finest Parler Paris Apartments.

The first bedroom on the right as you enter boasts of this beautiful tile-work at the head of the queen-size bed (which can be made up as two separate twins), with the roman numerals MCLXIII, representing the year that the cornerstone of the Cathedral was laid (1163). The twin of this work of art can be found in the glassed-in shower in the apartment’s en suite bath, which includes a sink and heated towel rack. This bedroom has shelves and hanging space on each side of the bed, as well as a comfortable chair. The window overlooks a quiet courtyard.

The second bedroom on the left as you enter is similarly enhanced, with a whimsical painting of the Cathedral itself, an original work by artist Pascal Amblard, done specifically for the apartment. One entire wall of this bedroom is devoted to mirrored closets for plenty of storage. The bed can be made up as separate twins.

Just outside this bedroom is the separate toilet with sink. Next to that is the second luxurious bath, with a large tub/shower combination, a heated towel rack, as well as a combined washer/dryer and lots of storage space.

The living room area of the apartment includes a plush three-seater sofa and armchair, a typical Parisian fireplace (ornamental) with large mirror. For those that need to catch up on some work or just check a few emails, there is a desk that is part of a built-in wall unit, which adds to the great amount of storage space in the apartment.

The open, angled kitchen is very well equipped, with full-sized oven, a two burner vitro ceramic stove-top, built-in microwave, fridge and freezer and dishwasher. Of course, the kitchen is completely furnished with all pots, pans, dishes, glassware and utensils that you will need.

The four-person dining room table sits conveniently next to the open kitchen over it hangs a stunning glass framed chandelier -- a special feature that symbolizes the mix of contemporary and old-world style.

A large flat screen TV with DVD Blu-ray player is mounted on the wall and is visible from throughout the central area of the apartment. There are over one hundred channels available, several of them in English.

Included is high speed wireless Internet and unlimited free phone calls to over 100 countries, including cell phones in the U.S. and Canada.

As with all of our apartments, all bedding and an ample supply of towels are provided.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Wow! What a delightful apartment! We can really only echo everything that has been said before, but starting at the beginning.......

On arrival our Concierge was waiting for us in the apartment despite the fact that we were later than scheduled and she proved to be a mine of invaluable information which she shared readily. She was also just a phone call away whenever we needed to ask questions. (By the way, the free inter-continental phone calls were a real bonus)

The apartment was just perfect for the four of us (4 ladies travelling together), very well equipped and tastefully furnished. The location of the apartment could not have been better and the little lift, taking us up

to the apartment was greatly appreciated after a tiring day's sightseeing although some could still easily manage the stairs. Although close to all public transportation it was easy and enjoyable to walk to many of the sights Paris has to offer. It was right in the centre of the throng of tourists and yet when we got into our apartment it was perfectly quiet except for the wonderful sound of the tolling bells of The Cathedral.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend La Belle Notre Dame to anyone, my only small criticism would be that there was only one toilet and it was tiny but everything else was so delightful, that really didn't matter.

We would just love to go back and do it all over again.

Adorable place and can't beat the location

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was perfect for my husband and I and our two teenage sons. It's small, but we never felt cramped. And the location - perfect!! In the center of everything. We were there on Bastille, yet never was really noisy. Great shops nearby have everything you need. Highly recommend, and would definitely come back again!

Middle of heaven known as Paris

  • 4 of 5

3 of us, husband & wife and sister-in-law, stayed 4 days in La Belle Notre Dame. We were looking for a 2 bedroom/2 full bathrooms. We loved staying so close to all we had planned to visit during our short stay. We liked the decor, a washer and dryer, the kitchen area, and all the storage space for our clothes. While the apartment meets all one's needs, it really didn't meet what we have come to desire in an apartment; we have stayed in 10 different apartments over the last 7 years. For us, we missed having windows that lets in lots of light or are in the front of a building. The apartment just felt cramped to us, especially the bathrooms. There is only 1 toilet in a separate WC that is so small, one can barely sit down and close the door. And the towels are the absolute worse we have ever encountered in any vacation setting- thin and scratchy.

This apartment rental group is the easiest I have ever worked with, and I would rent from them again. Their prices are very fare and their apartments are beautifully designed.

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for your feedback. You comments are important to us. So sorry about the towels - though machine drying isn't always possible. It's something we have made note of. Glad you otherwise enjoyed your stay.

Listen to the bells

A wonderful apartment just one half block from Notre Dame, which makes it in a location which is at the center of tourist Paris. A taxi stand is right across the street and other public transportation is within easy walking distance. The apartment is furnished with everything you need. Because the apartment is at the rear of the building, there isn't much sunlight and no view, but it is amazingly quiet at all times in spite of its busy location. Checking in was a breeze and the agent was very helpful.

Comfortable Apartment in a Central Location

  • 4 of 5

My wife and I and our son and daughter-in-law stayed in La Belle Notre Dame for 10 days. The two primary reasons we chose this apartment were its central location and that it had an elevator. Unfortunately, the elevator was not operational for the first 5 days.

We thought the kitchen was perfect; very efficiently laid out and with all the necessary utensils available. The beds were comfortable and the linens fresh and of good quality. Having two bath/shower rooms was perfect for the four of us. Both were clean and spotless when we arrived. The apartment has one tiny toilet room. The photos of the apartment make it appear very trendy and modern when in fact it is neither. It is comfortable and well-appointed.

There is an almost constant but irregular drip, drip, drip sound in the first bedroom caused by the plumbing. It is inside the wall and is extremely annoying, especially at night. In the second bedroom there is a very high pitched, ear-piercing, screeching sound that is caused when a toilet is flushed in another apartment.

The “quiet courtyards” that the bedrooms overlook are in fact nothing more than ‘light wells’, at the bottom of which are kept the garbage bins. On one occasion the smell of rotting fish coming up from the garbage was so overpowering that we had to leave the apartment. On several occasions the smell of garbage and cooking in other apartments forced us to close all of the windows.

The positives of La Belle Notre Dame outweigh the negatives, but the bottom line is, you’re paying for the location.

Truly a dream vacation!

  • 5 of 5

Four of us, two couples, stayed at this amazing apartment four nights! It is exactly as pictured, and is truly exquisite! Location is perfect, we were able to walk to many major attractions. Metro was close and easy to figure out. The rental agent who met us was wonderful and quickly explained to use of all the appliances, etc. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to feel like a Parisian in Paris!

Wonderful location, beautifully furnished

  • 5 of 5

Four of us (two couples) spent four nights here in April 2012. We booked because of the location - a half-block from Notre Dame cathedral - and despite the pictures on the website, which we felt were rather garish. The pictures do not do it justice; it is beautifully furnished, and in good taste. We would highly recommend it. A few location tips: For a splurge dinner, try the Au Vieux Paris D'arcole, around the corner on Rue Chanoinesse - great service and food in a 400-year-old building. For cheese, wine, bread and groceries, wander down the rue saint louis l'ile, just across the pedestrian bridge on Ile Saint-Louis. Wonderful little shops. There are crepe stands everywhere, but the one on the tip of the Isle de la Cite next to the pedestrian bridge is exceptional. Enjoy!
