228 E. Factor’s Walk is a spacious, luxurious, one-of-a-kind loft apartment located in the Paxton Building in Savannah’s historic Factor’s Walk overlooking River Street, and the Savannah River.

Factor’s Walk is one of the most important historical areas of Savannah. The lower two floors were constructed in 1817 to house cotton coming into port. In 1853, three more floors were added. The third floor that houses our Loft was used for additional cotton storage and the two upper floors for offices. “Factor” was the name given to men who estimated the amount of cotton in a shipment. They calculated or “factored” the amount of cotton and its worth.

The exterior walls, massive doors and balcony have been pain-stakenly preserved and restored at 228 E. Factor’s Walk to maintain the historic integrity of the original building. The Loft features the original interior walls of exposed brick and stone. The stone was used as ballast in ships that sailed to Savannah from England, and upon reaching port, used to construct the cobblestone streets of Savannah and walls in Factor’s Walk such as ours. Inside, the original perimeter walls of exposed brick and ballast stone blend with with the modern sophistication of our curved hallway, pocket doors and bamboo flooring. Architectural features, including a granite bedroom wall, onyx tile bath and stainless and granite kitchen make every room special. The Loft features original artwork by some of the South’s top artists, along with ancient Asian artifacts and antique European accessories.

Our 1,500 sq. ft. two bedroom, two bath loft with a fully furnished kitchen is the only residential property overlooking River Street and the Savannah River that features both an original “stoop” and a ten foot balcony off the master bedroom overlooking the Savannah River.

The master bedroom features a king-size bed, balcony overlooking the Savannah River, and a luxurious full bath with Jacuzzi tub and shower. The second bedroom is furnished with a full-size bed and has a full bath with shower.

Our fully equipped kitchen features Thermador and Bosch kitchen appliances for eating in, or you can just step out the door and walk to some of Savannah’s finest restaurants including the Boar’s Head Grill and Tavern, The Ole Pink House, Garibaldi’s, and many more.

For our guests convenience, our Loft features wireless Internet throughout.

228 E. Factor’s Walk Loft offers wonderful views of the Savannah River as well as the convenience of location in the heart of the City.

Savannah is home to a myriad of historical and cultural attractions, terrific tours, the best in Southern Cuisine, as well as shopping and numerous festivals scheduled throughout the year.

Take advantage of our one of a kind balcony/stoop with patio seating for four people to view the river, enjoy al fresco dining, or just people watch.

There are a limited number of free parking spaces at our location – first come, first serve. But once you park your car, you can walk to everything Savannah has to offer! Our goal is to provide our guests with the ultimate accommodations in all of Savannah. Providing the comfort, convenience, and technology that they are accustomed to at home, with the added beauty and Southern charm for which Savannah is known.

Absolutely perfect!

My husband came down for a long weekend to relax and re-start! This was JUST what we needed. Not only was is absolutely was clean and well stocked with everything we needed. If I could design my own loft, it would look a lot like this. It is convenient to EVERYTHING. We walked EVERYWHERE and we were able to come and go with ease! Not to mention, it was easy working with the owner. I had a lot of questions and was always treated kindly and professionally. We cannot wait to go back and spend more time here. Thank you for everything!

Great location, great loft....did I mention it was great?

From the moment we walked up, to the moment we left, our family loved the loft. If there is a better location in Savannah...never mind, there isn't. The mixing of old and new, historic and contemporary is great. The pictures truly don't do this place justice. Coffee on the balcony overlooking River St. was a great way to start the day (it also earned us more than a few envious glances from passers-by) and the old wooden barn doors over the new french entry doors helped maintain the historic feel to the loft. Everything of interest is withing walking distance, or a short hop on one of the trolley operators right outside. The server at the Boars Head Tavern (great food) below the loft knew the owner by name, and had nothing but nice things to say. Although we didn't need to call on him during our stay, I can comment that check in and check instructions out were remarkably clear, concise, and required little effort on our part. We use owner rentals several times a year, and Karl's process rivals or exceeds the best we've seen. The entire family is in love with this loft and location. My only complaint is that it's such a short walk to Savannah's Candy Kitchen that I had trouble staying out of the place (when free praline samples are involved, I can resist everything but temptation). Parking for free behind the condo is available, but requires a vigilant eye if there isn't a spot open upon arrival, free spots disappear quicker than praline samples. Parking for a fee is plentiful, and nearby.

Thanks for such a beautiful place to stay, and for making everything so seamless. We hope to return soon.

Excellent location and fun loft!

We loved our stay at this modern loft right on River Street while in town for a friend's wedding. We were able to walk everywhere all weekend and loved the views of the river. Will definitely be staying here again!

Bringing In The New Year Savannah Style

My husband and myself booked this unit for our 2nd wedding anniversary/New Years Eve and I can say this place was so beautiful. The interior I could not get enough of. It was stunning. The unit was very well stocked and all appliances were updated. The Jacuzzi tub in the master was wonderful too. Location was fabulous, we parked and never got into the car until it was time to leave. The weather was very cold and raining so New Years Eve we walked to the events they had but then returned to the loft and watched the fireworks from our private balcony. New Years Day I cooked a big pot of ham and beans and we lounged around all day and relaxed watching TV. I would also suggest eating downstairs at the Boar's Head Tavern (reservations required) as it was the best meal during our get away. The trolley is right across the street and we were amazed with the HUGE Cargo ships that went past on the river. I would give this unit 10 stars if available and we will be back when it is warmer..

The condo itself is stunning. The location could not be any better. The restaurant downstairs, "boarshead tavern" was DELICIOUS. This is my absolute favorite condo in Savannah.
