We own the beautiful beach house and haven't been able to enjoy it as much this year so we decided to rent it out.
St Simons is one of the best places to stay. Beautiful trees throughout the island. Great people.
Walking distance to the beaches, shopping and the Village. Great restaurants nearby. You can rent a golf cart and ride up and down the island.
This was by far the best vacation rental my family and I have ever stayed in! We rented it for one night and it was the best choice! The realtor was so amazing! She stayed in contact and said to feel free to call and text her if we needed anything! The house was clean in all the rooms, the beach was right down the road, and when we wanted to stay in there was a wide selection of DVDs for the TV! I would recommend this house for anyone that is looking to get away to St.Simons Island wether it's for one night or for one week!
As anybody probably would, I was a bit nervous after reading the negative review below. After all, we had booked this house for the entire month of July with our two small children. When my husband and I walked through the front door and actually SAW the house, however, we kind of turned to each other and said, "Oh now, c'mon!"
This house is great. For starters, it's huge. I am talking -you-can't-even-hear-the-people-on-the-other-side-of-it big. The living room/dining room are very spacious and the kitchen is well-stocked. I KEEP finding "goodies" to use, like a crock pot, blender, etc. It has everything we need. (FWIW, we come every summer, for most of the summer, and this is the first house that had a well-stocked spice cabinet.) The master bathroom is beautiful. I LOVE the large bathtub with jets. That is, WHEN I am able to run the kids out of it. My 9-year-old son has pretty much moved into it.
Everything works: TVs, internet, lights, garage door, A/C, etc. No problems there. Downstairs has tile so it's super easy to clean up stray sand that we track in. The vacuum cleaner is the best I've never seen. No kidding. I put on an attachment brush, to clean sand off a couch, and I figured, you know, it's not going to be THAT strong. My attachments never are. Well, I lost control of it because I wasn't paying attention and it ate my long hair all the way up to my scalp. My husband had to "free" me (after laughing and taking copious pictures, first). Seriously, I looked up the brand because I now want one myself.
The location could NOT be better. My son and I always bring our bikes and ride tot he village and beach but this house is so close to both that you can walk. Even better, this year our 5-year-old brought HER little bike and yesterday SHE was able to ride to the village for ice cream with us. We've never been that close before. It's about a 15-minute casual stroll or 10-minute bike ride. If you catch the right tide on the 11th street beach access point you can literally be to the beach in 3 minutes. It takes longer to load us all into the car than it does for the actual drive.
Brandi herself is a pleasure. Seriously. I have mostly dealt with property managers here and, while friendly, they've all been kind of cold and business-y. Working with Brandi is like borrowing you girlfriend's awesome summer house for the month.
I literally have nothing bad to say about this place. We've loved it here.
Stayed at this property over Memorial Day weekend with my husband and two dogs. House was very nice and floor plan was perfect. Fenced-in yard was great for the dogs. Brandi was great to work with and the entire rental experience was flawless.
We have rented this same house for the past few years and 7 of us stay the whole month of June. We have kids and dogs and its perfect for us. The location is great we can walk, ride bikes, and use the golf cart and hardly ever use our car because its so close to everything. Our oldest son loves to fish on the beach and pier. The playground, putt putt and pool and waterpark in town is fun for younger kids, but we always take a short drive over to Jeckyll Island to go to Summer Waves a park everyone enjoys and we drive over to Savannah to eat at Mrs. Wilkes Boarding house and shop at the amazing new outlets. Brandi is quick to respond to questions or any issues we have . We love that it is pet friendly. The beaches are very nice with certified lifeguards. We have even sat on the beach right next to famous people like Charles Kelly from Lady Antebellum. Hope to come back every year for the rest of my life if Brandi will keep renting it to us. We love the restaurant Echo in the King and Prince and Catch 221 for oysters and sea food they have a daily happy hour thats awesome, Southern Soul BBQ has been on lots of shows and magazines, Bubba Garcias for Mexican and my kids favorite and mine too Sunset Slush in the village kind of like ice cream, slushee, gelato dessert mixed together. They have so many flavors to choose from. I'm counting down the days till our return. Too many good things to list!!
This house is perfect for a family getaway. There is plenty of space for kids, large bathrooms, and dog friendly too. You are close to the village, beach, etc. Brandi is great, and easy to work with! We will be back!! Thank you.
Snowbirder for several years and haven't had a place with so many issues. First the good, the wifi works fine. Now, The house needs a serious cleaning and upkeep done maintenance wise. First day A/C for upstairs doesn't work. Called owner, Brandi, and she said she would take care of same. 5 days later I called her again because there was no vacuum and asked about the a/c. She said she forgot and would get someone there. She also brought a vacuum to the house later full of dog hair in which she told me to clean it out that she was doing me a favor by bringing me the vacuum. On the 19th the other a/c was leaking thru the master bedroom closet ceiling. Had to call again and the a/c people came out and fixed same. Both times they had to come 2 different days to complete the job so I had to be there. Other issues include but not limited too: a garage door doesn't function, security light busted out, lights missing in fixtures, fixtures without light covers, animal hair on couches and all chairs outside, outside full of dog poop that I cleaned up, ref/freezer doors unable to store items in as 3 of the 5 shelves without guards on them and the 2 with were DUCT TAPED on as were the front door blinds, 5 out of 6 blinds without wands on in living area, m/b closet door off hinge, carpet going upstairs and in the bedrooms was so filthy and stained all over I was embarrassed to have my family come visit. Ended up leaving early as I told my other house guest to not come. Do not recommend this property.
Mu husband and I were so pleased with this house.! It was spacious, clean, bright, and comfortable. The decor was delightful...........reflecting the charm of this sea side area. The WiFi was an added bonus, as were the screened in porch, deck and private backyard. We appreciated the close proximity to the beach, village and bike path. We also were pleased to have a garage in which to keep our bikes. We did find the towels to be a bit meager, but that didn't keep us from thoroughly enjoying our one month stay!! We hope to return next year!!
