About Scott Lawrence

I purchased the home in 1989 and have enjoyed many family celebrations, dinner parties and gatherings of friends in this warm and charming home.

As a profession I consult, implement and support large scale business software systems for clients in Washington state.

Personally I have an interest in aquiring and restoring older homes. My father and grandfather were designers and builders of large homes and introduced me to the craft. My most recent project purchased in 2010 is a grand 1907 three story craftsman in the Leschi neighborhood overlooking downtown where I reside now.

Why Scott Lawrence chose Seattle

The charming neighborhood and central but quiet location. It is close to downtown and everything that makes Seattle a world class city: The Pike Place Market, Elliott Bay waterfront , Pioneer Square, the Space Needle, Experience Music Project and art exhibits including the new Dale Chihuly glass studio located at Seattle Center. So many opportunities close by for sightseeing and enjoying the city.

The University of Washington campus sports stadium and hospital are within walking distance. On campus events, graduations, theater, art and college sports are at your fingertips. Many choices of local resturants are just blocks away.

What makes this house unique

Start your morning with a leisurely walk or run along wooded park trails in Ravenna Park. Finish off with a short walk to our local cozy and historic Boulevard Grocery for a fresh ground gourmet coffee drink and baked goods. It is located on the Ravenna Boulevard greenway designed by the Olmsted brothers (think Central Park in New York City).

If this home is booked or you need more space check out my other luxury property located close to the Woodland Park Zoo just a few blocks north of Fremont. The University of Washington is 3 miles east of this home via 50th NE. The VRBO listing is 442325.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thanks so much for the opportunity to stay in a great house in a quiet neighborhood close to everything! Two daughters and three grandchildren spent two nights and my husband and I enjoyed the entire stay.

VRBO's are a great alternative to hotel / motel rooms. Enjoying the common living space and making coffee each morning in the kitchen felt like being in a "home away from home". Must admit the traffic took some adjustment since we are visiting Seattle from Montana!

Thanks for giving us this opportunity!

Fantastic!

We had never tried VRBO before but this experience would make us try it again.

The house owner was a pleasure to deal with and his home was beautiful.

It was close to everything with perfect access to UW and CenturyLink stadium and perfect for our buddies get-away.

Thank you for making a wonderful weekend.

The location was perfect to access UW, close to shopping and groceries.

The house was well-maintained and the beds were comfortable. The back deck was wonderful for entertaining, but the kitchen had it's limitations.

Well kept, spacious, perfect location

  • 5 of 5

We came as two families with kids for a family wedding and the house was perfect for us. The two floors are spacious and separate enough that we didn't feel like we were on top of each other. Ravenna park is steps away at the end of the dead end- we took walks there a few times and the kids played in the creek. A short drive to University Village where we found lovely shopping and food options.

Easy to use television system, awesome hot tub, super comfy beds, quiet street, clean all around.

I think we may just come back next year!!!

Clean, well kept, quiet/nice neighbourhood, thoughtful little extras

  • 5 of 5

A very well kept, clean, light and airy, well appointed property in a nice quiet neighbourhood, with thoughtful and welcoming little extras supplied to make it a very comfortable and relaxed place to stay. "A home from home". Good sized rooms accommodated our party of 4 very well. Our 2 teenage kids liked having their own bedrooms and own space in the light/airy basement, with their own living/tv room (with netflix), kitchenette and bathroom. The property is very close to the upmarket/fashionable and new"ish" "University Village" for designer gear, modern restaurants and a good quality supermarket. Next door to Ravenna Park, with it's shady wooded walks/trails over high wooden bridges, trickling stream, green open space, playground and tennis courts - a haven for joggers, walkers etc. and bohemian eco friendly cafe next to the park. There are plenty of amenities near by. The property is approx 20 mins from the city centre by car. A good tip to avoid the car parking fees is to travel to the centre of Seattle using the new underground train. Catch it from the Husky stadium - (a 20 min downhill walk or 5 min car journey from the house). The house is approx 5 mins to Lake Washington - (very beautiful- great for watersports) 20 mins to the stunning beaches of Shilshole Marina (Golden Gardens Park) or Discovery Beach. Northgate Mall is only 10 mins car drive away. Good access to all roads. We would recommend this home. The only suggestions we can think of are, perhaps full length mirrors in the bedrooms, some beach towels (as we didn't want to use the supplied beautiful white towels for the beach) and another tv located somewhere upstairs to watch while resting from a busy day of sight-seeing (there was only one tv in the house and it was downstairs in the basement). All in all, a great place to stay.

Owner's Response: I appreciate my guests review and suggestions. I have added a full length mirror in each main floor bedroom. and will add a couple of beach towels. I will consider adding a tv upstairs as there is a cable outlet in the living room.

The house was perfect for our brief two night stay.

We needed a baby crib - this was provided.

Everything we needed for 6 adults and a baby were available.

Had a great time.
